I discovered Herb Ox bouillon this afternoon. It is really good and it doesn't have the nasty taste of a container or a can. I highly recommend it!

Sleep Study/cpap Machine For Surgery?
lappyloo posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Does/Did anyone else out there need to have a sleep study done prior to surgery and if you have sleep apnea get a cpap machine before your surgeon would to the procedure? My surgeon required the sleep study and I have to have the machine with me at the hospital or surgery is called off.... This is just one of his requirements... I was wondering if anyone else came across the same thing? Lappyloo -

I'm on day 4 of pre-op diet and my husband just cooked himself a great smelling dinner and is eating it right in front of me. I find it very inconsiderate, am I just sensitive and irritable because of my lack of solid food intake? Lappyloo

First off, thanks for the comments, whether I agree or disagree.. it helps me to realize my focus... second off, we live in a 700 ft condo, 1 bedroom, I was in the other room. Third, this is the only thing that I am asking of him out of the entire weight loss journey, is that when I'm PRE-OP and only allowed liquids to please eat something that doesn't smell up the condo or eat before he gets home. It's only for 11 days, once I've had the surgery I don't care, but the pre-op part is hard on me. I didn't care when he had a sandwhich and chips, and I didn't care when he made a homemad milkshake and sat right next to me on the couch eating these things. It was the cooking and smelling up the whole place that made me feel like it was a little inconsiderate. I'm not mad or sitting in a corner poutting, I just wanted to know if I was the only one that finds it inconsiderate.. Lappyloo :>)

I added protein powder, per my Dr's office suggestion, to help make the liquid fill me up a little bit more. I'm on day 2 and I am dying! I don't understand how some people have to diet for weeks, other's days and yet others not at all?? I mean, it's really hard!! And if we have the strength to go weeks without solid food, we wouldn't need to have weight loss surgery. I don't mean that to be funny or critical, but I would think they could at least give us something to curve our appetite. I take medications that make me hungry even when I am eating regular solid foods! Grr.

Fees Fees And More Fees!!!!

For the people on here that are covered by insurance for this surgery, please be appreciative of that. I am self pay and it's 15K. I would do anything to only have to pay 1K. My insurance has an exclusion for weight loss... and my fills are $180 each. I had to finance this, it's not like I have that kind of money. -
Depression/anxiety Questions + Will They Say No Because Of Too Many Meds?
lappyloo replied to Missy281's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
no worries! I suffer from the same as well and take meds, several to be honest. it did not hinder it at all. in fact the psychiatrist that did my eval said that maybe lapband will help with some of the depression. trust me, you will be fine, just try not to over think it. Lappyloo -
Looking for input from the St. Petersburg area.

Im having surgery May 24th 2012 by Dr. Huguet. I've definitey learned a lot and fast. 2 months ago I knew nothing about lap-band but a neighbor changed that. Once she told me she used to be 75lbs heavier and she looks awesome now. I knew I wanted in. Dr. Jesse did her lapband 4 years ago and she swears its the best thing she ever did for herself. I only hope I'm as successful at it as she is! -
I am getting banded on May 24th. Very excited and nervous at the same time. I hope that I am able to do the pre-op diet as well as I need to. I mean, if I could do an all liquid diet then I wouldn't need weight loss surgery. Can't wait to start my new life!! Lappyloo
