I was on Prilosec for the 1st 30 days. I've taken other pills, (headache, Vitamins, calcium) whole with no issues.

    Taking Pills

It was awful!!!!! I couldn't see my pcp (who I love) or the usual nurse practitioner when I went to the appt. So I had to see the new one. I TOLD her clearly that I had recently had GP and she assured me that the antibiotic would be ok. SHE LIED<SHE LIED<SHE LIED. lol. I took it at work, and I felt so bad I had to leave.

    Taking Pills

I've had no problem swallowing pills since surgery. However, I had to take an antibiotic about 3-5 weeks out for something totally unrelated. It was too strong. So I ended up taking a shot instead. I've read that some antibiotics are too strong for your pouch.

3 Days Post Op- So Painful

I hope it gets better. Can you ask for dilaudid? My nurses mixed my dilaudid (pain med) with my zofran (nausea med). It works. I didn't have any pain other than gas pain or nausea, though. It was great for sleep, though.

    Worried About My Pouch

You're welcome. I like answering question about my ordeal. I haven't had any issues other than dehydration for a day. Therefore, I like to show people that this surgery doesn't mean, "I can't eat this, I can't eat that, I'll never be able to do/eat/drink this again." I still enjoy going out with my friends/family to restaurants like I did at first. I have wine occasionally. I've never dumped. I just vomited for the first time this week (took my Calcium too soon behind dinner, lol) So, keep your head up and don't worry about the negatives. #HopeForTheBest..........ButAlwaysPrepareForTheWorst.

    Drain Tube

I had one for a week. I really think it was a big part of my healing up so great. It didn't hurt. It can be irritating to carry around, though. I tucked mine into my waistband and had no issues. It's a little uncomfortable when it's removed, but no biggie (high pain tolerance).

    Worried About My Pouch

Yep. Like I said, I still have days where I feel that I'm not getting full. I just stop eating when I've had enough. Getting my protein shake first thing in the morning really helps, though. Days I don't get it in the morning, I feel hungrier.

    Medical Records....

I had a similar issue. My pcp was faxing the forms, but they wouldn't go through. After I called and talked crazy to them they faxed them immediately. Sometimes you have to be less than lady like to get results.

    Worried About My Pouch

I want to say around my 6th/7th week. I have odd days now where I feel like I can eat, eat, eat. But I have self control

    Worried About My Pouch

I had moments like that in the beginning. I was told that your pouch is still healing, therefore the nerve endings that tell you that you're full aren't fully functioning yet. Believe me, the full feeling will come in due time. When I was having that issue, I would premeasure my food or just stop eating at a certain point.
