Moving Onto The Next Stage Of Food?
babygirl901 replied to theby_88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it may depend on the person. You may need to talk to your surgeon. I didn't tolerate pureed to well, so I would chop my food up really, really, fine and chew, chew, chew. -
I only told certain people. However, it did spread to a FEW outsiders. But all the response has been very positive. However, everyone here pretty much knows not to come to me with negativity, because it will be addressed IMMEDIATELY. lol. As a matter of fact, a lady asked me yesterday what I had been doing. I went ahead and told her. She had been thinking of having WLS, TOO.

I'm almost 4mnths out. I live Oikos Greek yogurt and string cheese for snacks. Minute maid has a several flavors of that are only 15cals/8oz serving. They're great when you're tired of plain water. -
I've tried it. No problems. Just a smaller portion than I used to eat pre op. But it's good to at least get the taste

I'm using the chocolate flavor right now. It's ok. I got it for the price, but I think I'm going back to my Syntrax Nectar. To me, I don't feel as full with the Body Fortress.

I had one recently. I took Theraflu.

I've given soooo many of my clothes away. It feels great, too. I loved shopping before, but I love it even more now. Going from a 22/24 to a XL in a few months is great. -
Not Trying To Be A Downer But?

I didn't have high blood pressure or depression, so those issues weren't a problem for me. My dr. took me off my diabetes medicine before I left the hospital. I regulated the same day. I NEVER had incisional pain. I only took my pain meds to sleep when I got home. Just gas pain from hell for a couple days. I took infant gas drops and it dissolved in a matter of minutes. I still do occasionally but not often at all. I've never dumped, vomited, or been nauseated. I have had no complications besides being dehydrated for two days the week after surgery. It was my fault, because I just didn't feel like drinking anything. I haven't dumped or vomited. I may have an occasional gas pain. I take some infant gas drops and it's over. I seem to tolerate all foods very well so far. I just don't go crazy. I've eaten Cookies, very thin slices of cake, candy, fried food, etc. JUST IN GREAT MODERATION. I still go out with friends. I'm even able to shop on the same side of the store with them now. I have no complaints. -

Yep, I have a MEAN sweet tooth, but I haven't eaten an entire candy bar since surgery. I have a bite size something when I want something. And I move on from there. -
I cheated several times on my preop diet. no issues.

Don't be so hard on yourself. It is normal to have cravings. I'm almost 4mnths out and I still sneak a nibble here and there. I'm pretty sure 90% of us have at some point. -
