William, Thanks for sharing. I am coming to make similar revelations! It is nice that with the band helping to control our portions, the slightest changes in our eating habits can make just enough difference for the weight loss to continue. Good luck and keep up the great job.

Hi Kelly, I am so glad you are feeling better. I went for an unfill myself today. I only PB'd twice in a 4 week period, but it was getting hard to get in my water and I couldn't even think of really drinking or eating before 11am. My band is acting a bit weird... first fill 1.3, second fill 2.0 -- no problems. Then I went to 2.4 had major problems, but only after 3 weeks. Went back to 1.5 and was fine, I would even say too loose for 3 weeks... then extremely tight again. It just seemed to keep getting worse, so now I am back to 1.3. The doctor is ordering an upper GI... so we will see. I sure hope you are successful with solids and I am glad your band looks healthy. Take Care,

Kelly & Alex -- thanks for the feedback. I will let you know how I feel by Friday. I am doing a bit better with fluids this afternoon, so I hope by staying this course I will heal and feel better soon. Thanks again.

Hi Everyone, I was wondering what everyone's docs have said about what to do after a PB episode... liquids for 24 hours, 48 hours??? Is this clear fluids or just full liquids or do you stick to mushy or go back to regular eating? I had a very slight PB almost a week ago and skipped the rest of that meal, but went back to normal eating later in the day. As of last night, I have so much restriction it is difficult to get my fluids down. My educated guess is that even thought it was slight, I should have done fluids for at least 24 hours after the PB. I think by continuing to eat normally, I turned the slightest irritation into full blown swelling and now I am paying for it. I am on full liquids (no other choice) for two more days until I see the doctor on Friday. I hope this is all it is, but I thought I would ask what everyone else is doing. Thanks for the feedback.

Some of my favorites: Escada Rockin Rio (it is one of their seasonal sents and I buy it every season... they just change the name and slightly change the fragrance) My boyfriend loves it! Caroline Herrera 212 - Sexy Eternity Purple Orchid - Yummy and SexyBlack Cashmere by Donna Karen - But she doesn't make this any more... I absolutely loved this fragrance!!! And while we are this topic... DON'T YOU JUST LOVE A GREAT SMELLING GUY??? I know I do... Here are some I love my boyfriend to wear: Issey Miyake Caroline Herrera 212 Kenneth Cole Black and Kenneth Cole Reactions All are incredibly sexy and yum, yum!!! :cheeky Honestly, I could keep going!!! I love fragrance!

WARNING: Dont Go To Mom's House For Supper!!!
sassaay replied to paula's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Paula, I just had to add that I can definitely relate. I did this about a month ago when my boyfriend and I went to dinner at Outback. I was enjoying my 7 oz filet so much, I just didn't want to stop even though I knew I had reach my capacity. I had a PB episode in the restroom before we left and a couple more in the car on the way home. Has anyone else out there made a habit of carrying (in their car) a plastic bowl w/ lid stuffed with paper towels???? I keep it right under my car seat, so that I can reach it easily if I happen to need it. My BF was so upset with me. He just doesn't understand how much I enjoy food sometimes and just want to keep eating even when my band says... NO WAY!!! I think it will just take me time to get use to this new way of living and to break all those bad habits that have been with me for more than 30 years. Luckily, I haven't had any PB episodes lately. I know how bad they are and I am thankful everyday that passes without a problem. I think I am noticing that I have more restriction when I am on my cycle and PMSing... Like today, it was difficult to eat two thins slices of cheese wrapped around two thin slices of lunch meat... But, give me some candy or chocolate and I won't have any problems at all. FIGURES! Have a great day! A. -
Just banded in Roseville, California
sassaay replied to Moonshadow_Girl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Mercy, Welcome and congratulations on your band. I live in the Sacramento area as well... I actually do live in Roseville. I have MedClinic, so I am not familiar with the Sutter doctors, but I heard Dr. Waldrup has a lot of Gastric Bypass experience. Did you have any problems convincing him that you wanted Lapband vs. Gastric Bypass. I hope you enjoy this site as much as I do. Take care and keep us posted on your progress. -
Mary, thanks for sharing!!! You look FANTASTIC! You have done such a wonderful job with your band. Congratulations.

Marie, is that 6 lbs in a week? That must feel wonderful. I haven't lost that much in a week since surgery. I think my 2cc fill is going to do me just fine for a little while... it is that time of the month, so I should probably be up this morning, but I am down .5 lbs... brings me to 236.5. Have a great week!

Ryan, best wishes on your surgery 11/16

Wow Ryan, that's tomorrow! My thoughts and prayers are with you... I hope your surgery is smooth and your recovery a breeze. Let's us know how your doing when you feel up to it. Take Care, -
Getting in my water is probably the biggest thing for me. I thought that I would have a difficult time not drinking with my meals because my mom has been doing this for years (it's good for your digestion) and she often tried to get me to do it... I just couldn't do it... but with my band, sometimes I feel like I can do lots of things I couldn't do without it. So, back to your question. I guess it would be my water and also eating slowly... sometimes things feel stuck when I eat too fast.

You all make me feel so good... I should have checked in earlier today... back when my stomach was growling and I was wondering if I could go another day on fluids. Your well wishes (thanks Marie, Margie, Pam and Michelle (ShellyJ)) plus Greg's post to give me a great laugh would have definitely kept my mind off being so hungry. Thank goodness for watered down canned Turkey Chili blended smooth and thin... it even beats out creamy Soups. Thanks again everyone... this is such a great site and you are all so wonderful. I am glad I can come here for support and advise. I don't know what I would do with out YOU!!! (((Hugs))) :banana :banana :banana

Fill, Fill, he's my man... if he can't do it... NOBODY can!!! :banana Since I very rarely start a new thread unless I have something to complain about... I thought I would share some happy news! I went today for my second fill in my second band... and I am happy, no thrilled, to report that my doc was able to pull out everything bit of saline (1.3cc) that she put in 7 weeks ago. Yeah!!! This new band is holding the saline, no leaks here baby! She was also able to stick me the first time, which is now two in a row and something she was only successful doing when I layed on my side with the first band. And lastly, I am now at 2cc's. This is the most fill that I have had in either band, so I am really hoping I have some restriction I can work with... maybe there is hope for me yet and I can take off a few pounds over the holiday, while those around me are gaining... HA!!! Sorry... I am just feeling very good about my whole experience today. I am on fluids for the next 2 days, but the time should go by fast. I was 237.4 on the doctors scale today, so in the last 7 weeks I have been losing and gaining the same 3+ pounds. I CAN'T wait to be a LOSER!! I hope everyone has a great day and thanks for letting me share.

Glad to hear everything is OK. So, did you leave with a nice fill?
-
Congratulations Mary! You are doing great! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks so much Vera, Michelle, Betty and Leatha! I am breathing a sigh of relief and keeping my fingers and toes crossed that 2cc's will be nice restriction for me. I can't wait to see the scale going down. I appreciate your well wishes.
