Pain In Intestines?
Mistywater35 replied to Mistywater35's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mostly when I walk, not at all when sitting. I have not noticed it on deep breath. Hmmm strange. -
Saw my surgeon for a follow up on Friday and he said I could go to mashies and soft food. My instructions had said one more week eating puréed for 1 meal and drinking shakes as Protein. I am tolerating everything I have tried but have not had chicken or any type of meat. I am little afraid he didn't reallise how little time has gone by. But he has done lots of bands so I am hoping it is ok.

Tmi Question!!
Mistywater35 replied to kittylove32's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine itches all around the port I put benadryl on it last night. It's not the actual incision but all around it and the other incision the little ones are ok. It seems to have a couple of bumps. I wonder if it was a reaction to steristrips, but it did not start right away. -

Is It Normal For Stomach To Be So Swollen?
Mistywater35 replied to kittylove32's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My port is on the right side as well I have 5 incisions but slightly differently placed. Oh well there seems to be many many differences in the pre-op and post op as well. so I guess the incisions are just another variable. -
How Much Did You Lose On Pre Op?
Mistywater35 replied to kittylove32's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost 9 lbs pre-op also seems like a common number -
I almost feel back to normal. Yesterday we walked around a small "artsy" New England tow nearby and today I feel very very good. not much pain except being over and getting up from the couch I have not taken any pain med since the Friday (2nd day after surgery). I just realized I could have a cup of coffee (decaf) but haven't yet, funny it was the thing I missed most during pre-op! I can only hope things continue as smoothly as they have so far! All the support through this forum is the BEST! Happy Sunday!

How long did everyone leave the bandages on? I feel like they should be changed or something before I see the Dr. On Friday.

October Bandsters?
Mistywater35 replied to Ms. Blue's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Surgery day tomorrow. I am a mix of emotions today, Happy, scared, excited, but mostly can't wait to do things like ride a bike and walk the mall without my knees and feet hurting. I already feel so much better having lost the 40 lbs during the last 7 months (since seeing the surgeon the first time) that I can't wait to lose more. I have already put away the NEED for the large portions that got me here. I know there are more challenges along the way but as another poster's said being overweight is a challenge. One I've fought since about 3rd grade. I am ready to see what else is out there in this thing called LIFE. -
Thank you all, made it through the night(no cheating etc). I've really been okay on the liquid/veg diet and lost something like 40 lbs already throughout since I saw the Dr. in April, but last night was probably the most challenging and not because of any emotional reasons or outside stimuli but because I was hungry. LOL

October Bandsters?

So very emotional right now. My surgery is scheduled for Oct. 18th and they just called and said they may have to push it back a week because a proctor has to be there that can't be there. I've been on the liquid diet since Oct 3 and scheduled my time off from work for 2 weeks from the surgery date. I am really really upset. (just had to vent a litte) -

I started my pre op diet ( shakes, 1 veg, 1 fruit and 1 starch) and lost 2 lbs per day until yesterday when I GAINED back 2 lbs very frustrating. I was really strict and careful. Anyone else have this experience?

I am having my surgery on Oct. 18. I just started the two week per-surgical diet today..finding only slightly intolerable. Mainly because of the removal of coffee. I so miss it and have a headache from it. But just keep thinking it will be worth it. -
In The Mix And Waiting For The Surgery Date
Mistywater35 replied to Kdubb's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am practicing the chewing and making the meals longer since I am a fast eater. I have a timer I set for 20 minutes at meals, have to admit I've only gotten to 15 and that's when I am REALLY conscious of it. -
Is Frequent Pbing Hazardous For The Band?
Mistywater35 replied to Toddy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Of any thing about the surgery I worry about it's this PBing and vomiting. I haven't been sick in around 20 years. AND I eat fast, (working on it). -
Hi, I'm Ready To Get Started Saving My Life.
Mistywater35 posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi group, I am just starting out on this journey! I have only had my first appointment with the surgeon. I go to the first support meeting tomorrow night and the psych is set for the end of May but no word on the Nutritionist date yet. Hoping that is soon. I have battled weight all my life so I'm really really excited to think perhaps this will all work out for me as I've seen that's worked for others on this forum. When I went to the surgeon the other day they asked if I knew anyone who had had LapBand and I said no.So this is a good way for me to get some much needed info, and possible encouragement when it comes to the time I am sure I will be in need.
