If I read your post right, you were banded on Nov 2 and you haven't gone since then? Girl you need relief. After my surgery I ended up severely constipated to the point it made me sick, I ended up drinking a bathroom cup size of Magnesium Citrate to get things moving along and it worked. Its nasty but it works wonders. I still to this day keep the stuff on hand. Good luck. And yes I do take stool softeners and laxatives too.

I think my plateau is over, hopefully. Got an unfill of 2cc's preparing for gallbladder surgery this coming Monday and since I saw my surgeon Tues for the unfill I've lost 3 lbs. woohoo. I seem to do better when I'm not so tight. I always get stuck, throw up, can't eat good and now I can eat good, not getting stuck. Hope I continue to lose throughout my recovery.

see if someone can get you some Dramamine or call your surgeon to get some Zofran or Phenergan. If you are on pain meds they may be upsetting your stomach. Hope you feel better. Try sipping some hot tea.

trying on some of my winter sweaters from last season and none of them fit. Yes you say that's a great thing but they are Coldwater Creek and expensive sweaters and still look new and therefore I'm sad, I like them! sigh

I'm having gall bladder surgery Monday so my surgeon removed 2cc's Tues to prepare for surgery and well, I didn't exactly fall off the wagon, actually I lost a half pound but I did get to tolerate bread. I ate a 2" sub from Subway and let me tell you it was like heaven, it was the best thing. I loaded it up with meat and veggies and ate half the bread and oh my. I ate this 6 wks out but since my fills I haven't been able to eat any kind of bread so to be able to tolerate it again was awesome. Anyhoo I just had to share. smiling for the moment

well, I just had 2cc's removed because I'm having my gallbladder removed Monday but prior to that I was actually going in to see my surgeon because he thought I had too much in my band. I get stuck at least once a week. Like you tho, it is because I get too hungry, rush and eat too big of a bite, don't chew well or something dry. With that said, however, I was able to eat fish, tuna, chicken in tee tiny bites or canned chicken, don't do hamburger meat except for Wendy's chili, I eat greek yogurt, cottage cheese, chicken/cheese low fat of course quesadilla that I fix at home (the smallest tortilla), eggs, no bread, no pasta, no rice, I am able to eat veggies, cooked, not raw, salads. But like you, I do get stuck but again, I think it is due to me being used to eating habits of the way I used to eat. I'm still learning and think I will continue to learn my band.

Have Thrown Up Twice Today After Eating
donna12 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Since my last fill two weeks ago I just can't seem to get adjusted right with food. I get stuck or I get sick. Today I start off with a greek yogurt for breakfast, that went ok, 4 hrs later I eat leftovers from Thanksgiving, just a few tee tiny bites of turkey, maybe 6 bites the size of my pinky nail, the same in portion of dressing and the same portion of hashbrown casserole, wasn't long and I lost it all. Tonight I was hungry and ate maybe a half cup of chicken salad with 2 crackers, couldn't even finish it and didn't eat the second cracker and had to go throw up. Its like the food wants to come back up or just sits at the back of my throat and I can't swallow it down. What's wrong? -
Have To Have Gallbladder Surgery Next Week-Scared!
donna12 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Went in today for an unfill because my surgeon thought since I was getting sick I may have too much fluid in my band but its my gallbladder/stones and needs to come out. He took 2cc's out of my band and scheduled me for surgery next Monday. I'm so scared. I asked him about recovery time and he said "well it's a little longer and harder than lapband". I'm thinking wow, and I thought that was hard. Oh lordy! Just 5 1/2 post op of lapband. -
Have To Have Gallbladder Surgery Next Week-Scared!
donna12 replied to donna12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do have one concern, he took out 2cc's today so that I could have a tube down my throat during surgery, I'm so praying I don't gain any weight during this. One thing I'm craving and haven't been able to eat with almost 6cc's in is a 2" Subway turkey sub with all the veggies so I will indulge on that one for sure but other than that I will stick with one cup per meal and string chees and greek yogurt for my go to snacks if I get hungry in between meals. -
Have To Have Gallbladder Surgery Next Week-Scared!

thanks all of you for the well wishes. To Carole, I think that is what the dr was talking about, it's more painful of a recovery due to the placement of the incisions. I am scared but at the same time I've had a time with all of this nausea since about a month after my lap band surgery and now it's to the point I've been throwing up and my back is killing me and I'm on pain meds which I think I wrote that earlier maybe, heck I don't know who I've told now...lol. Anyhoo, I will just be glad to attend church Sunday and then get some good rest that night and then Monday morning comes get to the hospital and get all dolled up in a gown and cap and footies, ha ha ha, what a fashion statement huh? I am praying for a speedy recovery and not too much stress on my 73 yr old mom that will be helping me and taking care of my very active Dachshund so hopefully in a couple of days I will be able to help her with my dog duties at least. I will have to sit in the recliner with a pillow over me as my Dachshund runs up my legs and my chest and lays her face up against my face loving me and she does it all of the time so I will have to be careful of that. Thanks again to all of you. Be Blessed. -

I'm thinking the same thing Honk, but he did say that. hm? People I've talk to that had theirs taken out said it was a piece of cake, no probs so hopefully I will be smooth sailing. I'm not a morning person, wonder if he'd operate at midnight, hee hee. -
oh I am so sorry you are sick! Try some Dramamine or call your surgeon for a prescrip for Zofran or Phenergan, you don't need to throw up and take the chance of band slip. I sure hope you feel better. hugs

lol, kristin, I don't mean to laugh but I can remember that my bed was too high and I had this 2 step step stool I had gotten out to get up on my bed because I was too sore to get myself up on the darn thing. I feel ya girl. Hang in there! Night

OMG, I hurt so bad to bend especially taking a shower etc. and trying to shave my legs, lol, I can't tell you how bad that hurt especially at the port site. Thought I would never feel normal. I was slow healing but I guess about day 10 I was feeling pretty good, back to normal. Just keep up the walking and moving around yet get plenty of rest so that you can heal. Congrats on your journey. I go in tomorrow for a slight unfill. We are all here for you!

If You Could Only Give One Piece Of Advice To A New Bandit What Would It Be?
donna12 replied to toritz's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Minimi, I'm almost positive but I will ck tomorrow that she works for the hospital too, not sure tho. She's real health nut with herself and follows strict rules for herself but not so helpful when it comes to lap band patients. I've never told my dr how I feel as they are really close and he has all the confidence in the world in her and I don't want to mess that up. She also holds the support group mtgs twice a month that I attend and goes to show you I'm the only one that attends, yes the only one. I live in a small city of about 45,000 ppl but I'm near Nashville TN but I chose my surgeon for specific reasons. I love his staff and love him to death. Like I said, I'm just kind of out here on a limb on my own not knowing what to do. I tried my fitness pal and I'm just well, I'm not too sure how to work it too well. Call me dumb I guess. lol. I see so many people having success with MFP and I don't know how to do it, duh. today's menu for me has consited of the following: Breakfast was a Kashi bar with Protein in it, lunch mid aftertoon was 2 bites of potatoe, 1/4 cup of green Beans and half cup of a stuffed pepper, maybe not quite that much. I've been battling nausea pretty much all of the time since surgery and not sure if its my gallbladder or what so I live on Zofran or Dramamine so me not feeling like working out results in sluggishness from these meds. I am going in tomorrow to see my surgeon because for the last three day I've been throwing up after solid food however today I've kept it down, not a bug, felt fine, just throw up solid foods ever since my last fill so he thinks I'm too tight. I will also talk to him about my gallbladder. Any advice is appreciated. -

See Missy, I just don't get that much info from my nutritionist. She's very young, just out of college, just started working for my surgeon and sometimes she says one thing and my surgeon says another so I'm at a loss of what I'm suppose to do most of the time. I'm 5 1/2 mos post op and only have lost 45 lbs, I know that is good but it could be better. I do not exercise but you know that, don't feel up to it yet, can't find my mojo, no energy. Hmph! -
Constant Nausea, Gallbladder Or Too Tight?

Constant Nausea, Gallbladder Or Too Tight?
donna12 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I spent Friday and Saturday puking after each solid food choice so by Saturday night I ate a slider food, cottage cheese and kept it down. I don't have a bug as I don't feel bad and no fever. Had a fill 2 wks ago and since then I keep getting stuck and throw it up and then bam Friday started throwing up after each meal. Let me back up a bit and give you details. Ever since I've been banded, June 13th I can't shake being nauseated all of the time, I live on Dramamine, or Zofran. I do have gallstones, I hurt in my back area and other issues which makes me believe its my gallbladder. I went to my PCP Thurs of last week and he ordered a test to be done on my gallbladder this coming Wed., with that said, I did call my lap band dr about the throwing up and he told me to come in tomorrow for a slight unfill at which time I'd like to discuss my gallbladder situation with him since he does general surgery in addition to lap band surgeries. I hate being nauseous! -
Oh don't regret it, I feel you, we've all been there. DAy 4 of my recovery I was so miserable and was asking myself what in the world did I do but now, now it's the best decision I've ever made. Hopefully you will feel the same in a few months. As far as me puking day 4 and 5 into it, I was severely constipated and couldn't take in anymore liquids, my body just would let me thus the puking. I called my surgeon and he got things moving along, thank goodness. I'm not sure why you are sick, hopefully you don't have a bug. Could be side effects of pain meds. Did you surgeon send you home with nausea meds or a prescrip for some? Try and take some Dramamine if he didn't. Hope you feel better soon. Get to healing and you will change your mind about the surgery, trust me. We are all here for you!

aw, thank you so much. I will try to walk as much as I can. Yes I am able to keep soft mushy foods down and liquids. I did call my surgeon and he called back and said it sounded like I was tad bit too tight and for me to come in Monday to get some relief. In the meantime enjoy mushies and soft foods again. -

Have Thrown Up Twice Today After Eating
donna12 replied to donna12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will try and answer all, I've lost track on my cc's but I think I am up to either 5.85 or 6cc's, but I think I'm 6cc's, forgot to ask the dr this last time. I have a 10cc band. The weird thing is, is I haven't lost but 1 lb in two weeks with all of this last fill so you'd think with the restriction I'd be losing. I posted earlier "not losing" and some of you said plateau maybe. I'm 5 1/2 mos post op I just didn't expect a plateau to hit this early but I guess it did. I usually can tolerate meats, well, canned chicken, fish, KFC chicken bites, and chicken breasts if I cut them into tee tiny bites and chew well. I've also been able to eat pulled port and pork chops but haven't eaten these things since my last fill 2 wks ago. I am able to eat eggs, toast, not bread raw but toast is fine. I'm a bit discouraged with my 1 lb loss. I'm not exercising and before you judge or comment please let me explain, I am really lethargic all of the time, I mean I could sleep around the clock so therefore I do not feel like exercising, I just can't muster up the energy to do so. My blood work came back normal except vit. D difficient. I also have a bad knee and when I walk on a treadmill or outside I pay for it at night with lots of pain. years of abuse of my heavy body walking on it and 2 surgeries. I will be sure to call my surgeon Monday and talk to his nurse and see what she thinks. I have a regular appt on the 6th of Dec. Thanks everyone for your comments.
