I'd like to know how you all get that ticker down at the bottom of your name. It's cool. :help: I'd like to do that. Thanks, RaShell

Hello everyone, I'm new here and was banded on 2/15/07. I have done a lot of research online prior to surgery and have found boards such as this a great help. Since my pre-op visit on 1/31/07 I have lost 29 lbs. My brother and I were banded on the same day by same surgeon. That has made this so far short journey interesting. He of course is doing way better than me. He is a guy after all and we know they lose faster. I'll catch up to him some day. Just wait. Surgery went well and have had just a couple issues since. 1 was the gas after surgery, which wasn't terrible, but noticeable. 2 is that I've been having an achy port site the last couple days. Seems to be better this morning, we'll see. I've heard that this is an on and off thing for quite some time. Will be both asking and answering questions throughout my journey here. RaShell

Hi nursedeeva, I was banded one day before you on the 15th. I too am having a difficult time getting my drinks in. I just don't feel like drinking any more. My Dr. has me on Optifast so I'm getting enough Protein, but I just do not feel like drinking them. Plus we are suppose to get a full 64oz of Water in besides. No way that is happening, but I am trying the best I can. I also am unsure if this is because I'm really not hungry, or if it's just from the stomach being swelled from all that monkeying around with it. Just wanted you to know you're not the only one feeling this way. Keep in touch and we'll follow our journies together. RaShell

Nancy, I was only banded last week, but I agree with you 100%. My Dr. put it this way... There are 3 elements to the lap band journey. 1 is having the surgery, 2 is eating right and 3 is exercise. You will have great results if you do all 3. You will have some results if you do 2, but will not have any results if you only do the 1, have the surgery. This is not a cure, it is a tool. I agree with him. It expresses the need for changing eating habits, but also exercise, which I think is of great importance. RaShell
