Men might not know what a pooch is or assume I'm referring to the 4 legged kind, but for women, many of you not only know but have also hated your lower abs as much as I hate mine! Now that the weight is starting to come off, I need to make sure that this is one area that goes bye bye ASAP! Between the pooch, arm flab and multiple chins, I've got a lot of work to do! Any exercise suggestions that target the pooch? All ideas are welcomed and appreciated =)

Recommended Daily Allowances Post Sleeve?
ddoherty18 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So apparently my surgeons office is currently Nut-less, funny in a juvenile way (yes, I totally snickered when I wrote it but not so helpful for those of us so early in our journey! I know the Protein levels and liquids I'm supposed to get now but I need to know about the other nutrional criteria for sleevers - Is there a change in the recommended daily allowance of carbs/sodium/etc. for sleevers? should I be taking in a lesser amount of sodium than a non-sleeved individual, and if so, whats my max number so I can stay under that? I've been on the governments website but thats not helpful. I've searched on here but all my searches seem to bring back info on specific recipes, not max numbers for the day to use as a meter. It would seem logical to me that since we are taking in much less food that there should be adjusted numbers for us but I don't know where to find them. Can anyone help with this? Thank you so much =) -
How did you get into my head and get my thoughts out without me knowing?! That was amazing and so very much how I feel and my reasons for going through this journey. Thank you for sharing this, making me cry and also just echoing exactly how I feel, reminding me that there are so many here that know exactly what I feel! Bless us all <3

2 Week Post Op Visit - Disappointed
ddoherty18 replied to downsizing's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 4 weeks out today. I lost 36 lbs pre surgery and 25 more in the first 10 days after. Since starting on the mush foods, I have GAINED 12 lbs back and am feeling soooo frustrated. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong except maybe getting too much sodium or its just my body coming to terms with all of this, so I'm going to focus on fluids, Protein and exercise - the rest will happen when its going to happen! Good luck to all, including myself -
Discouraged! :(
ddoherty18 replied to TrumpetTinklers's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in the same boat and so encouraged by what I've read in response to this subject. I'm going to keep my chin up (as in NOT looking down at the scale for now), focus on my liquids, proteins and exercise. There isn't much else I can do, so I guess I'll have to make the most of it -
Does anyone know the max. sodium content you want in a day?

No Weight Loss Since Surgery
ddoherty18 replied to Anakin Jay's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
how is everyone doing at this point? I'm 3 weeks out, lost 31 lbs pre-op, lost another 25 immediately after and have actually regained 10 lbs since! IDK what I'm doing wrong. I don't think I am getting enough fluids or protein but maybe too much in calories or sodium (since I feel myself retaining fluids). Talked to my doctors office a few days ago and they are not concerned....but I am. I'm working out although not back to my pre-surgery level yet. I'm very frusterated and thinking I'm going to go back to focusing on the liquids and hope for the best with the proteins. -
What are the symptoms of dehydration in sleeve patients? I've actually put weight back on after starting the pureed food stage and I feel like I am retaining water something fierce (I can see it again in my face too) but I'm not sure if I'm slightly dehydrated or getting too much sodium in something! Something has to change though! Any help would be greatly appreciated. =)

Dropped Big Post Op, Gained 6 Back And Now No Change - All In 3 Weeks
ddoherty18 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I lost like 25 lbs in the first 10 days post op, which was great! Then in the next week, I managed to gain 6 lbs back and have lost nothing since. I am now 3 weeks out and no change in over a week... since I gained. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but I'm trying to be careful about the calories, sodium, fat, etc while keeping my water and protein intakes up. I've been walking between 1 and 3 miles a day. Has anyone else gone through this too? What am I doing wrong? I'm so frustrated and starting to get depressed, which is certainly not going to help -
Another Freaking Gain Grrrrrr
ddoherty18 replied to rodswife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am in the same position of being 3 weeks out and not losing. I lost 25 lbs in the first 10 days and then gained back 6 and am just stuck at that same 6 lb gain for almost a week now. I'm stressed and not sure what I am doing wrong but I'm glad to hear that others have had some struggles in the beginning too! -
Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
ddoherty18 replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am only 3 weeks out and I lost 25 lbs in the first 10 days and have regained 6 lbs and stayed there for almost a week. I don't know what I am doing wrong but I'm frustrated! I'm only eating mush and trying to be careful about fat, sodium, etc. I'm primarily focused on the proteins and liquids. I don't count each calorie but I'm conscious of them. I've been walking between 1 & 3 miles each day, so I don't get why I'm in this holding pattern. Any ideas anyone? -

Probably the most flattering shot taken of me while at my absolute heaviest! Thank God for good angles
