I too have been experiencing the same thing. After losing around 100lbs I have given all my larger clothes away to try to avoid getting back into that size. I too buy M/L tops and bottoms and size 12 pants and some 14 (but not many). I don't pay over $20 for any one item and shop at Ross, T J Maxx, Marshall's and Burlington plus a couple of small inexpensive stores in the area. My style of dress has really changed. Granted I've always been a nice dresser but with the limited selection of plus size clothing I had a different style. My daughter often helps me find clothes. I call her my personal stylist but it helps that we have similar taste she just puts a little younger spin on it. With that being said, treat yourself to some cute clothes, get rid of the big ones because they will only make you look bigger. Embrace your new body! You've worked hard and accomplished a lot. Enjoy creating a new wardrobe!

I often wondered what the scale would read when I hit onederland! 199.8/198 I wasn't sure. Well this morning I found out 193.8! I had to go get my phone to take a picture while I fought back the tears. I haven't been in onederland in about 17 years or more! I couldn't believe that I was tearing up! It felt magical!!!!! It was so unexpected everybody kept saying that I was steadily losing weight and I kept saying no because last time I checked the scale it said 202-204. I'm so excited I want to shout it out!

I went looking for cereal I could ear for breakfast and stay full. Needless to say everything I saw had more than 6grams of sugar and was low in protein. What are you eating?

Gastric bypass rny long term
kparadisek replied to BriWLS's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Hello Everyone, I am 9 1/2 months out from band to bypass. I thought I would try to answer a few of your questions based on my Mom's experience. She had surgery in 1992 and is very healthy. She was in her early 40s when she had the surgery. She was never one to really take her Vitamins until I started taking mine. She does however do a monthly B12 shot which works fine for her. She is rarely sick and if so it's an occasional once every few years. She does still have high blood pressure but I think it's from all the pork she eats not to mention it's way better than what it was. She has managed to only gain about 35 pounds total since her lowest weight. When she decides she wants to take those extra pounds off she just commits to walking and the weight melts away. She still eats very small portion but can tolerate a drink at the same time. She enjoys a diet Pepsi a few times a week. She often about not having any regrets and is glad that I decided to have the operation. She was one of the ones that had to have the open surgery because they weren't doing the lap ones then. Her Doctor often ask her to be a spokesperson for his practice but she doesn't like the way she looks in her before photos. She's very energetic, loves to dance and still has a lot of fun shopping! She still parties and has drinks on the weekend with her friends and family with no problems. I hope this answers some of your questions as I couldn't remember them all but I thought that everyone basically wanted to know about the long terms effects. She inspired me so I hope that her story can help at least one of you. She's very supportive of my surgery and is one of my main cheerleaders especially since I haven't told anyone else outside of my children, husband and two close girlfriends oh and my dad. I'm one of the ones that prefers to do this in private and share once I've satisfied my own goals. If any of you come up with some other questions you can post them and I will try to respond to them even if it means asking my Mom questions which isn't a problem because we talk about the surgery often. Good Luck! -
You look great! Looking at your post and your stats gives me hope! I'm 9 1/2 months out and almost at 100 pounds lost! Our numbers weren't to far off so I hope I can get close to goal by then. Congrats on the tummy surgery I'm trying the body wraps. I actually have my arms wrapped as we speak! Keep us posted on your progress!

My only regret is I didn't do it sooner! I think I may have noticed my stomach getting smaller first. -

I will say don't buy to many shakes or puréed items because my taste buds was all over the place I didn't hardly like anything. As for vitamins u can get Optisource they are citrus chewable multi vitamins u only need to add D3. There is also some chews out there by Celebrate and then there's Bariatric Advantage I recommend trying to get samples first. Nothing I consumed tasted the same after surgery. Purchase your small containers as they will come in handy down the line. Good luck! -

How much weight did you loose, before you could really notice a change in your apperance?
kparadisek replied to takingaleap's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
You'll do great! Don't tell them if you don't want them to know. Just say you've made some changes health wise and feel that it's working for you so you're going to stick with it. Even if they don't notice right away someone will comment and ask for your advice on how they too can achieve success. You just share the basics with them on how to make healthy decisions and everything will be ok. Granted they will try to start watching what you're eating but tell them you're excercise and new habits have changed your outlook on food therefore reducing your meal intake. It works every time. Keep us posted! Wishing you the best"
