    Sleep Study In Progress

Just an update!! I just got back from my follow up and I do not have sleep apnea!!!!! I am so thankful for that!! And shocked that I actually slept a little over 6 hours I did not think I even got close to that! I do have periodic leg movements that wake me up quite a bit but she said that is common for someone who has had knee surgery as I have. She said once I reach my goal weight if it is still happening they ban give me meds to help! I also am not spending much time in REM sleep so that us why I am so tired, but I am just do happy that I don't have apnea! I think I did a little happy dance!!
  3. Am here and all wired up, this has got to be the wierdest thing I have ever done! The room is nice an the bed is comfy so that is a plus. I hope I can sleep, it is lights out pretty soon! Cross your fingers for me

    Sleep Study In Progress

Everything seemed to go ok but I got like no sleep at all... I came right home and went back to bed for a few hours! They didn't say they had to reschedule me or anything so hopefully they got the info that they needed. This was my first sleep study and I an sincerely hoping that I don't have sleep apnea! I won't find anything out for 10 days when I have my follow up appt... I hate all this waiting, makes me crazy!

    Anybody In Their 20's

I'm 27, but I was 26 when I started all this! Holding on to my 20's for dear life. ;o) I wanted to start actually living my life before I hit the big 3-0! I have my sleep study on Saturday and then 2 more visits with the NUT and they should be able to submit to my insurance! I can't wait!
  8. Hey all!! I have been working hard on my prerequisites for surgery and my preop diet and the next thing coming up is my sleep study and I am getting a little nervous about it. I tend to have a hard time sleeping in unfamiliar places so I am not sure how this is going to go... Keeping my fingers crossed that 1) I can actually sleep and 2) that I DO NOT have sleep apnea. Study is on 8/4 and then I have a follow up for that, one more meeting with the psych ( she was concerned I was being to hard on myself) and then 2 more visits with the NUT and then they should be able to submit to insurance!! Hopefully I can lose these lbs required by MVP so I don't delay anything!! Can't wait to be on the loser's bench!!

    Hi I'm New!

That did not want to be edited!! It got sent before I was ready but things are finally moving along! I am a little nervous about the sleep study and meeting my 5% weight loss requirement, I have lost a little over 5 lbs so far so hopefully I can keep it going!

    Hi I'm New!

Hi, I am well, just a little impatient still. I have completed my history and physical appointment and my first one on one with the NUT. And I also got my abdominal ultrasound and completed my psych eval. For some reason the psych wants to check up on me one more time but I think I passed! Lol! I have my sleep study scheduled but it isn't until next month, so thing are moving along... I have at least 2 more nut visits so I will not be getting a surgery date until late September at the earliest. Hopefully I can meet the 5% weight loss requirement... I am working on it.

    Hi I'm New!

Just went to my first NUT seminar yesterday morning an I have to admit it was a little overwhelming! But I am so glad to get things moving and have something to focus on other than just sitting here and waiting ! Next step is my history and physical appt on 7/9, but at least my initial weight has already been recorded so the process has really begun!! Yay!!!
  13. This is so awesome!! I hope to be there with you sooner rather than later!!

I am not sure whether I have to do 3mos or 6 my insurance policy is super confusing but hopefully they can explain it to me at the surgeons office! I am hoping for only 3 mos!! Good luck to you!!

    Rochester, Ny

I am going with dr o'malley, it seemed like most people were there for the band or bypass. Yet I am not really sure. It seemed like the process for the sleeve is pretty much the same as for bypass but he didn't really talk about the sleeve that much specifically.

It went really well! I called this morning and scheduled all of my initial appointments... I was shocked how many people were there that basically knew nothing! I am getting excited now that I have those appts booked even though it will still be a long process

And I am do excited that things are signally moving along !! I am still not sure what is going to happen with my insurance and I probably won't have a surg date until the fall but we shall see what happens ... First NUT seminar is on 6/13 and it really begins!! So anxious and excited!!

Amen to that!! I can't wait to not be the fat girl! I have never been able to buy anything in Victoria's secret except perfume and lotion do I look forward to that! Finding the man of my dreams and not being judged and made fun of along the way Getting married and having babies Getting rid of my anxiety !! Too many things to name ! I am ready to not be trapped in this body anymore!!
  21. Hopefully mine will be that quick an easy! I am not sure if I will be going through insurance or not, I am not sure they will cover it but I am going to try that way first. If not then I will be self pay
  22. I don't have anything scheduled yet , I am just waiting anxiously for my seminar so that I can get the ball rolling ! I have been doing a lot of research and I know I want the sleeve!
  23. I feel your pain! I have not had surgery yet but I can't wait to actually start having some fun! I am 26 but I missed out on a lot of stuff being fat in my teens and my twenties! I want to change that before my twenties are over! Good luck! You are not alone!!
