  1. At two weeks out, your body is not in the losing stage. Your body is healing at this point. You are still pretty swollen and still holding most of the fluids that you received through the IV. Be patient, once you turn the corner and start eating a little more, the weight loss is going to hit you
  2. I CRIED the day after surgery over a new pizza that Pizza hut came out with lol!!!! I laid in that hospital bed and cried like my mama died...shame....LOL!!!

    T.O so sexy!! lol!!!
  4. You do look super now LOL!!! This journey will not feel complete until I can get rid of this tire around my mid section
  5. My husband will say silly things like: hush.... your tummy is talking to me! The gurgling noises from my throat can be pretty loud lol!
  6. Totally normal! I burp less now. Certain food just naturally cause it ( fruits for example). I am almost 10 months post surgery, and I can still hear the funny little squishy (as my daughter described them).

  8. Hello! the day will come when you feel "normal" again lol! You're still swollen and just started your healing process. That's why it hurts. It will get better. No way to pin point when that will be, since we are different. By two months, I was able to drink and not feel uncomfortable. Also by then, I had adjusted and accepted my new way of life. To this day I still take small sips, and do not use a straw.

    I hate to admit it

You are not alone! I went through as well 5 weeks post op, if I was offered a "way out" I would have jumped on it!!! I did my homework pre op and thought I was ready for the waves of emotions that came crashing on me. Today my only regret : I did not do it sooner. Be patient, allow your self time to adjust and heal. Big hugs my dear  !!!!

4 weeks post op and depressed.

I understand your frustration! I would feel battered if I was told I was at the low end of their chart as well!! I failed to understand why he felt the need to share this info with you? I thought the idea is we all lost differently? That's the reason why my DR. NEVER told me what he expected me to lose, what my weight should be at any point of time during my journey!! He simply said : Follow my protocol, and you should lose about 75 to 80% of me excess weight within 18 months. I have only seen him once post surgery. I mostly see and communicate with the RN. If a visit showed low lost, she usually makes adjustments to my food intake to help bump it up. I am usually the one to panic. She never makes me feel like the low lost is a failure of my part. She reviews my labs, reviews my food journal, answers my emails ect! I am satisfied with her. She is very competent. As long as you know you are doing everything that you need to do( Protein, Water, Vitamins, no snacking, no sugar, low cab, exercise, rest ) I would say don't worry. Your body is going to eventually respond to the surgery. And if they have goals that they want you to reach, that's fine, but they should let you know!! They need to give you a clear outline of what is expected.

ALMOST 10 MONTHS 107 LBS DOWN- PICS

I can not believe how fast time is moving!!!! Just two months shy of a year! 107 lbs down and happy with it. I am able to eat more and that's a little scary!! I make sure I eat my protein first. Lunch is usually a grilled chicken breast with lettuce, grapes, and strawberries. I still measure my food because I worry about over eating. My work load is kinda heavy at this time, so I am lucky if I go the gym once a week I feel so guilty about that! That's why I stay on top of my food intake. On a typical day I usually intake: 2 Isopure protein shakes( 100 gr protein), 64 oz of water, two eggs in the morning, grilled chicken for lunch, Atkins bar for snack, and Chili for supper. I should confess now :Last week I ate three Oreo cookies, and last Friday I ate a bag of M&Ms!!! LORD HELP ME!! I hope this is not going to become a habit because I refuse to undo all my hard work! HIGHEST WEIGHT: 348 LBS TODAY'S WEIGHT: 241 LBS

1 month post op check up

Congrats on your weight loss!! Best of luck on your weight loss journey. You are going to have some stalls, so try not to measure your success solely by the scale. Take pictures, and pay attention to how your clothes fit you. As for your coworkers, be very careful with them. Some will encourage you, some will go out of their way to make you "regret" having the surgery. At first I shared with a few of them what I wanted to do. It got ugly lol! I stopped talking about it, because the thought of having surgery was enough. I did not need the unnecessary comments. One told me, maybe I did not know what to do with the money, so she suggested that I let her borrow it! She told me to just stop eating and I would not be so fat!! So I changed tactic on them. I never mentioned the surgery. When I came back, I did the same. I was very vague and generic with my answers or didn't answer at all. "How are you feeling? = I feel fantastic. How are you?" "What do you eat? = whatever I want" "how much can you eat?= as much as I want" " how much have you lost?= not enough!!" "how much do you weigh now? = child you must be crazy!!" I knew it wasn't coming from a good place so I never shared my journey with them. I come to this site for all my venting, sharing, and bragging but that's it. I would never forget, one came up to me and said You look the same to me. I smiled and said " so do you my dear". Make sure you bring your meals with you, water bottle, and your snacks as well. I do not eat anything at the office that wasn't planned for by me. Good luck to you on your journey!!!

    I love my Sleeve****-102LBS****pics

What can I say that was not said already?! I am absolutely in love with my sleeve. I am absolutely in love with the person that I have become through this process. I am in love with the control that I have over my eating. THE BEST feeling ever  !!! I had this surgery to take charge of my life again, and I am learning to do just that. I am more outgoing, more active, more confident. I am a better mom and wife. I have a new lease on life and I am going to do my best to live it to the fullest!! My only regret: that I did not do it sooner.
