Call Me Dumb...but...
Stirling2002 replied to Sandra_Baby87's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, I was not allowed to mix the protein with milk, had to be water. I did add 4 strawberries to the shakes because 4 strawberries were low in carbs according to the NUT. I only drink that one 1X a day, sometimes 2. Otherwise I have been drinking Nectar or EAS low carb pre-mixed (easier at work). I am on clears all day Sunday and nothing after midnight for my Monday surgery. It has not been a lot of fun! -
Maybe Tmi But I Have To Ask...
Stirling2002 replied to BMJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm new to drinking water, lol. I am a diet soda and Monster drinker. YUMMY. When I switched to water (still ICK) I always complained that I had to pee a lot. I was constantly reassured that it was normal at first but once your body is used to the water, you do not need to go as much. She promised! Also, the idea of stomach sitting on bladder and less sodium are great. I am sleeved next week so I hope this is true. -
I have a similar fear due to having a 5 year old. We have a gym where I live but no daycare. They even brought Zumba and Yoga to our complex but still no daycare. It's frustrating, I know. I'm planning to rent arm and leg workout videos from Netflix so I can do that stuff at home. With summer coming, I plan to get out walking with my daughter riding her bike or walking with me. Good Luck. Any suggestions are welcomed!

Started Pre-Op Diet...headaches
Stirling2002 replied to irishmama2004's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My day 3 was the worst. I was tired, fuzzy headed and could not think. My doctor said it was from detox and it DOES get better. I'm on week 2 and doing well. I still get occasional headaches but I think it may just be allergies. Good luck! -
Next Week Sleevers ? Or Anyone Whom Are Upcoming April Sleevers?
Stirling2002 replied to EnjoyingWhoIAmBecoming's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm getting nervous too. My surgery is the 23rd, I have to report to the hospital at 5:30AM for an approximate 7 or 7:30 surgery. I am really hoping to be out of the hospital on the 24th! I have had two weeks of pre-op dieting and I'm ready for the surgery now. I'm on liquids this week with Sunday being clear fluids and no caffeine. Yikes. I've been weaning myself off of soda (diet Coke addict) but have switched from Low Carb Monsters to the ones without carbonation. I really like them but I will have to give that up for now too. Today was my last one. I have all of my post-op meds and liquid vitamin things. My plan for the weekend is to clean and organize as best I can with a 5 year old. I'm super nervous and really just want Monday to get here. I have a feeling this is going to be a long weekend! Best wishes to all! Stacie -
Sleeved 4/11---Back To Work Today
Stirling2002 replied to waistnaway's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I find lunchtime very difficult. Most of the office staff that I work with will eat at their desk. We also have a microwave and fridge in our little office so lunch-time smells really make me hungry (and frustrated that I can't eat like them). When they order out, especially pizza, it's terrible. I work at a school that offers culinary arts and the kitchens are right down our hall. Some days it's really agonizing. -
I am the 23rd also, first thing in the morning. I am fearful of surgery and have had thoughts of "why am I undergoing unnecessary surgery and going under anesthesia again?" Then there are the thoughts of whether I can do this or not (especially post the Nutritionist meeting). I'm anxious though because I'm just tired of yo-yo diets and gaining all of my lost weight back. 6 days and counting.

Oh, the picture idea is great. The thought of taking pictures, however, makes me sick. Icky. But it is a wonderful idea, to get photos. Not sure who I can get to take them but I have a week to figure it out.

Sleeved 4/11---Back To Work Today
Stirling2002 replied to waistnaway's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I thankfully have short term disability to use and I plan to use what I need. I spoke to our nurse and she said 4-6 weeks would be great if I can take that from work, which I can. As a single mom I think I'll need all the rest I can get while I have the opportunity! Even on my pre-op diet I have been lethargic and suffering from brain fog. Thanks for letting me know that it may be possible to feel "normal" as early as two weeks post-op! -
Ok, why did my weight loss ticker not work here?! Help.

I had read somewhere that using special lotions and creams can help give your skin some help with the elasticity. Does anyone know of anything that is supposed to be good? I'm terrified of saggy skin!

Next Week Sleevers ? Or Anyone Whom Are Upcoming April Sleevers?
Stirling2002 replied to EnjoyingWhoIAmBecoming's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am glad that others have this problem too. I don't have a lot of support for the surgery. My parents believe that diet and exercises is all I need and I'm just lazy. I've spent years on Jenny Craig (lost a lot of weight and gained it back), some time on Weight Watchers, I'm a stressed out single mom and nothing else has worked. I've spent 9 months in the preparations required by my insurance, but now I am freaking out. And without support, I'm super freaking out! I have a coworker or two that is supportive but they won't be with me while I'm out on leave. My boyfriend and his family are super supportive though, and that's nice. Maybe it'll spur them on to get healthier too! -
Next Week Sleevers ? Or Anyone Whom Are Upcoming April Sleevers?
Stirling2002 replied to EnjoyingWhoIAmBecoming's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am new to this site, can not believe I have not been here yet but I am planning to visit often now! I am scheduled for my Sleeve on 4/23 at 5:30 AM! I'm scared. I'm scared about the anesthesia and not waking up (I'm a single mom) and I'm afraid that I can't do it. After my morning visit with our nutritionist, I thought to myself, "OMG, can I even do this? Can I really not eat carbs forever? Can I really exist on liquids alone?" I'm really nervous. I've been on the pre-op diet for one week and after day 3 I was so tired, fatigued and had such a hard time thinking I had to go home from work. After day three, and talking to my doctor, I increased my protein shakes but then also ate regular food toward the end of the week. I don't have a lot of support at all so I'm really panicing at the moment!
