I don't know how to feel about myself sometimes... since my lapband (10 weeks ago) i feel like all my life changed. i feel like everyones checking out what i eat and that makes me mad. my friends (which are overweight too) seems to find me annoying when i talk about training or loosing weight, i tried to speak of other things but i feel like all my life is aroung that for the moment and that i have no one to share this experience with. I'm also having a hard time being patient with myself. I have days where i don't eat much, but i also have days where i know i eat too much for my band and i feel horrible, sad, depressed... am i the only one to feel this way? how much time does it take to get confident and to know our band? i lost 43 pounds in 10 weeks, i'm really happy, but i'm staying at the same weight since 2 weeks and begin to feel like i don't do all i should or could. I still think that i eat even though i'm not hungry, just because of stress, or bad feelings and i dont really know how to deal with it. i begin to feel like i won't be able to loose weight, once again and i'm angry at myself. did you have this feelings at the beginning? I want everything to change. every night i tell myself that tomorrow will be a better day, and then i always feel like i didn't respects my expectations. I think i'm obcess by food. hope to find someone who felt this way before and will have advices, thanks.

I'm glad to read you tonight. 81 pounds that's sooo nice, i can't wait to get there. I'm anxious about being less than 300 pounds, i'm at 307, and i'm so feeling better. know it's normal to go through many emotions cause it's only been 2 and a half months that i'm band. I'll try in days to come to let more place to my friends and family without speaking about what i think or do. my mom asked me about my little portion on fish for supper and i did like i didn't hear her. I glad that you said that after a year it's easier that makes me a lot more confident now! thanks! -

You made me realize that my friends probably find me boring, lol and i understand them, i'll try to be more of a friend as you said. I do feel restrictions, but i know i still overeat. i have cramps oftenly that confirms it to me. but i meant i'm obcessed by food, like i always think of what could i eat, and how it would be good to eat chips or chocolate or go to that restaurent or what ever... and sometimes i do eat things even thought i know i shouldn't and then i feel so bad. i know i need time to adjust myself to reduce my portions because 2months and a half is not a lot, but i'm scared of learning it the hard way. if i overeat all the time, and get fill again and continue overeating i'm scared that my band slipp. but i'm gonna keep trying to reduce my portions and stop try to stop thinking food as pleasure, but as fuel. -

thanks a lot for this answer, i think i'll look up for a therapist, but when my job will get more stable i'll try new activites. i really got to stop beating me, those are the words i needed. thanks again -
I Get My First Fill Tomorrow And I'm Scared!!

It's different for everyone. My port is deep because i have a lot of abdominal fat so for me it hurts a little. I've got 2 fills, i did not throw up, but you have to be careful after the fill to eat really, really slow, (more than usually). -
i feel the same way as you, i stil don't get an answer to myself on what to do. i'm upset at my friends, my parents, myself, and i feel like everything is too much, but i try to do intensive sport when this kind of feeling come to me, but still not working for me. if you find an issue, tell me!

i've got that too but still don't know why. when i exercised i feel it more, is it like a muscle ache? if you find out, tell me!

I know that may sound stupid, but i'm scared to give my clothes away, thinking that I might gain back one day. Should I give them or not, what you think? I lost 40 pounds in 2 months, i have a lot of things too big for me now....!

Hi everyone, Yesterday I went to my Doc to get a fill. I'm banded since 2 months now, and got 2 fills, I'm at 5.0cc for the moment. I see a huge difference since yesterday, i'm less hungry which is cool, but since yesterday, when ever i eat, i've got this pain, like muscle pain on the left side, right under my breast but like more on the side. i would like to know if some of you have experiences that kind of pain. Should i be worried?

i don't do this on every day! i usually sleep 8-9 hours, i'm 20, i like to sleep like most adolescents do!

since i've got band and loosing weight, i'm more tired than i used to be. i go to bed at 10 pm and get up at 11 am. i think our body need some rest, 'cause he's working hard during the day. But i think you still should speak about it to your doc.

Okay, I'm going to call on monday, it's closed for the weekend, but if it gets worst i'll get to the hospital, don't worry!. I still don't know if it is really a band problem... about a year ago, i've got a car accident where i got 10 ribs fractures and also a perforated lung, so i think it might also be my muscles that hurts because i lost 40 pounds and my ribs are kinda moving, but really i still don't know. I hope it's only because i eat too much or too fast, but it really comes and go, not only when i eat.

Hi, I have my lapband since 6 weeks, and i kind of eat a lot. I had one fill of 1cc 2 weeks ago, but I still eat like 3 cups of pasta without any problems and I'm still hungry. Shoud I slow down to 1/2 cup even though I will still be hungry? I lost all my weight in my pre-op diet and now I stay at the same weight! Is it because I eat too much? I try to stay at 1400-1600 calories per day. I don't know what to do now, I need to loose weight this summer before University... I take vitamins, I do workout 30 mins 6 days a week... need some advices please!

I think it really depends for everyone, my doctor told me that i was not eating enough, i should eat 1800 calories per day because i do sport an hour a day. I'm getting my second fill next week, and i lost 3 lbs last week (finaly!!!) so i'm confident now!

I spoke to my nutritionnist today and she told me 4oz is really hypothetic, some person can go up to 12 oz, but we should not go over 12oz.

I tried to control more myself today and I'm pretty happy. I ate a lot more proteins even though I still have only ate 40g. Also I ate less than the past days. I still have work to do... I ate ice cream with my friends today but I try not to feel guilty about that cause I still want to live a normal life...Today I ate 1271 calories and I felt less hungry probably because of my proteins. I'll continue on this way and I took an appointment with my doctor in 2 weeks, but I feel like it's gonna be getting better with your advice. Hopes are back and I think with a little time and practice I'll get it!

thanks a lot that is really helping me. I'm gonna start tomorrow morning to eat what i need and take time to make better choices. that's what i had to hear. I'm going to calculate everything and try to see if i eat cause im hungry or not.

How did you quit emotional eating? I think I'm kind of doing that but I don't know how to stop. Mesuring everything? I'm always thinking about food....

I'm going to try on tomorrow and for a week to eat more firm food and also more proteins! Hope to see a difference...!
