    Almost Here...

im doing ok with the gallbladder, surgery is scheduled for sept 10. Really dreading another surgery. Im basically just walking a lot for exercise, I am ready to join the gym but it would be a waste of money to join this month because of the upcoming surgery. The only local gym we have has a 6 month contract so Im just going to wait until im healed from this surgery to join.

    Travel After Vsg

I flew from louisiana to big island hawaii at 4 1/2 weeks post op. About a 12 hour flight. I was fine. Although we didn't do amusement parks, I hiked miles and miles over jagged lava fields, etc At that point I was on seminormal foods, anything I didn't have to chew 30 times, in other words tender or soft. You will be fine, just use caution choosing rides, I would be nervous to choose anything that clamped tightly over my new tummy at that point, it might make you sore.

    Smoking After Surgery

I never quit before surgery but cut way back on the amount. My surgeon fussed a bit but I told him that I could not give up 2 things at once, food and cigs, unless he wanted a mental case on his hands. I was not being overly dramatic, I am an anxious person and have the occasional panic attacks to where I think I am literally dying. I tried chantix, had an allergic reaction to it so thats a no go. It also made me crave the strangest things. Anyway, I do intend to completely quit by one year post op, but not because a doc says to, because I want to. Good luck to you!

    Size 18-20 To A Size 4

congrats! I dont think I have ever been a 4 in my life, I was jumping up and down in the dressing room the other day when I was able to get size 10 capris on and they looked great! A big difference from prevsg when I was also in 18-20. I cant wait until I can get into size 4! You rock that sleeve girl!

    5 Confessions (Join In)

I confess that I am loving this thread! I confess that I have never gotten my Protein and/or liquids all in any given day, Im afraid to tally what I have spent on protein powders, drinks, shots. Cant stand any of them! I confess I drink iced down diet coke daily. Surgeon ok it at about 5-6 weeks and I have no problems at all from it. Water or anything water based makes me sick so I have few choices. I confess I am a smoker. I realize its terrible for my health, but I can only give up one thing at a time or I will go nuts and turn into a basket case. Right now I choose to give up food. I hope to quit smoking by the end of the year. I confess I have turned into a shopaholic. I never buy more than one or two peices at a time, but I love to go look and try things on now that I dont have to shop in the plus size section anymore. Im now in a 12 I confess that I have no room in my closet for the few clothes that now fit me because pre sleeve I would buy things and never wear them because I felt (and was) so fat! I have put off cleaning out my closet because I know it will be emotional and sometimes when I start feeling like a failure, or that I am still HUGE I like to look at those clothes and see how far I have come. (from 20W-12) in less than 4 months. I confess to lying like a pro when it comes to questions about my weightloss. My response is always the same, high protein, low carb, working with a nutritionist, All true, I just leave the wls out of it. I confess to getting seriously p*ssed off when obese ppl i know (not close friends) make comments about how did you do it while looking me up and down with condescnding eyes, and then say oh you look so good when there tone clearly indicates they dont think I deserve to lose the weight and should stay fat! But my real friends are sincere and that makes me so happy when I walk in and they say omg you look amazing, cant believe how well youve done! I confess to dreaming about being the same size my best friend for years is (size 1), even though she is to small, and I would look deathy ill at that size. But what a wonderful problem it would be to be to small right? I confess to being a master at pushing food around a plate in social settings. I can make a plate look nearly empty these days when in reality I have only had a few bites! I confess to stressing out to the max when I hit a stall. I always wonder is this all? am I done losing? I confess to looking in the mirror and still seeing the fat girl, even though the weight and the sizes have went down dramatically. I wonder if that will ever change. I confess to dreaming of plastics, and eagerly waiting for the day I hit goal so I can get rid of this ugly belly and have these saggy girls lifted to be perky! I confess I would do this surgery over a 100 times if I never lost another lb than I have already! I have so much more energy, my back rarely ever bothers me, and I can do things I haven't been able to do in years! I really like this thread! LOL

Glad everything went well naomi! Hope you have a speedy recovery! I talked to surgeon yesterday. He wants me to still have the egd on mon aug 6 to make sure there is nothing other than my gallblader that needs to be fixed or removed. I go back to his office the next monday aug 13 and we will schedule surgery then.to have the gallbladder removed. So it looks like Im going to get to wait until a little later after all! Although yesterday and last ***ht I was having those spells and wanted it taken out right then! lol Hoping for a better day today! Congrats on the stairs! Im so clumsy I have to hold on or risk a tumble!

Im def going to talk to him about options. And yes it is complete and utter misery when it happens. The timing is just SO bad! We live in the country and have farm animals (a lot of animals) so it makes it really hard for me to be down. Even for a few days. When we moved here 6 years ago the deal hubby and I made was I could have all the animals I wanted but I had to take care of them. He is not so much into animals like I am but he tends to them when I am sick etc. He built the fences etc but I tend to them everyday. NO ONE knows my animals like I do. I love my farm life but its really hard for me to trust my teenage kids to make sure everyone gets fed and fresh water everyday. I worry and I know I will be tottering out to the pasture to check on animals and lifting feed buckets if DH isnt around to take care of it. Im just really really funny about how my animals are taken care of, and teenage boys think 2-3 day old water in August heat is perfectly fine, as long as there is water there. Not me, fresh water everyday! The timing just sux!

    Almost Here...

Naomi, I have not personally experienced the pain but I have saw my family members go thru it. They say it literally feels like your gonna die, heart attack etc. If I was in pain, I would be having surgery ASAP too!!! lol I just get waves of sickening nausea thinking if I don't throw up Im gonna die, plus the constant heartburn/indigestion and I am really tender to the touch in the area I assume my gallbladder is in. I have only got these waves of nausea at home so far until about a week ago. My best friend owns a nail salon and I was up there visiting while she did some nails when it hit me. When the nausea hits, my throat and mouth fill to the brim with saliva, so much that I hold my hand over my mouth to keep from drooling everywhere. Well this was a particularly bad wave, and saliva was coming out between my fingers. It is so bad it kind of freezes me in place and there is nothing I can do except ride it out. She glanced up at my face and I must have looked a sight because she freaked out big time. She wanted to call an ambulance. I cant talk when this happens or I will literally drown on saliva so I just shook my head "no" and hoped the floor would open up and swallow me whole from embarrasement that it happened in public. Her client was sitting there with half done nails saying OMG is she ok? I was literally mortified!! Beyond words! The good thing is these spells only last around 5-10 minutes so If I can just ride them out without dying of embarrasement Im ok. Naomi, have you been able to identify what triggers your attacks? Certain foods etc? I want a Dasani Water soooo bad but water sets it off everytime!

    Almost Here...

I think Aug 6, but I'm gonna try to put him off until September. Aug is very busy for me getting kids ready for back to school, school starts Aug 16 here. Plus hubby leaves for Saudi on aug 6 & I don't relish the idea of having surgery while he's gone again (he was in Saudi when I got sleeved). Recovery is hard without some help. Also my oldest son will get his drivers liscence in sept so he can drive to school & I won't have to worry about taking him, plus he can run errands for me. I really really really don't want another surgery! Aaarrrrrgggg!

    Almost Here...

My issues turn out to be gallbladder stones as well. I have no pain so not totally consistent with gallbladder issues, but the ultrasound took less than 2 minutes total & it showed gallstones. I'm not looking forward to another surgery so soon either! ;-(
