Hiring private nurse in TJ?
kwindham replied to kwindham's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I'm using Dr Fuentes at Cosmed. I'm really really nervous. I emailed the patient coordinator this morning but haven't heard back yet. I've never had drains, even with vsg, plus I'm really scared of how painful this is going to be! Any advice or tips are appreciated! -
TUMMY TUCK TOMORROW MORNING
kwindham replied to frumpynomore's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Girl, my nerves are fried right now! lol They are def not made of steel, not at this point in time anyway! Yes, I am having it done TJ, and I know they usually do twilght sleep and epidural, but when I talked to the nurse on the phone and set my date, etc, I mentioned that I had an epidural with both my children and it did not work either time, so she said they willl def put me under general anethesia. My OB said in all the years he had been practicing he had never had a patient that didn't respond to epidural TWICE! Talk about unlucky, I was in labor for 48 hours with my first with no pain relief! Horrid! I may back out of the BL/BR right now and just do the rest and do boobs later on. Im really scared! -
TUMMY TUCK TOMORROW MORNING
kwindham replied to frumpynomore's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Girl, it sounds rough! I'm having TT, lipo, fg to buttocks, & BL the 24th. I've been following your thread. I briefly thought about going alone but I def won't now! I have a fairly high tolerance to pain, but I also have a tendency to get afraid of the pain, which freaks me out! Your one day closer to an awesome tummy & pain free! -
Need suggestions on where to stay in TJ or san diego. I am scheduled with dr fuentes on Jan 24, so need to get my reservations done asap! Thanks in advance!

Anyone Recieved Plastic Surgery In Mexico?
kwindham replied to ValerieSJackson's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
To those who have had procedures in MX, did you go alone or did you have someone go with you? If you went alone, was this your first time traveling outside the US? Was you nervous to be in a foreign country alone and be put under the knife? How did you deal with the jitters? Im in the process of scheduling for TJ for the end of Jan or first week of Feb. Dr Fuentes. I did picture consults with 3 dr in mexico, 2 in tj one in monterrey. I decided on TJ because it was close to the border and I can recover in san diego after one night in the hospital but still be close enough to clinic for my post op drain removal etc. I was planning on my husband going but his work schedule is not accomadating, and I don't want to put it off because I want to be able to swim etc when it gets warm here....but I have to say I am extremely nervous and actually just a little scared to go alone. Anyone have any tips/advise? BTW, I am having TT, BL/BR, fat graft to buttocks, and inner thigh lift. Thanks! -

Deciding On Surgery...does Anyone Regret Having The Vsg?
kwindham replied to ladyhummingbird's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I would do it over again 100X! I have lost 75 lbs in 5 months. I have had no complications other than gallbladder from rapid weight loss. Other than waking up in pain in my hospital room after recovery, in pain and heaving from nausea, I have had no regrets. At that moment I thought, WTH did I do to myself? But it passed by that night and I was fine. Got pain under control as well as nausea. I didn't expect pain or nausea so prepare yourself for immediately postop. You may be one of the ones that has no pain etc, i thought i would be, but be prepared mentally. -
Oh yea I had help, scheduled surgery when hubby was home and he did it all!!! LOL

wow!!! -
Dr fussed some about it, I cut way back before surgery and still smoke now. I healed fine, but if you can quit, it would be beneficial to you. I am addicted in a bad way but still plan to quit before year end.

Not Eating And Gaining...
kwindham replied to jessfharris's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As a sleever, and a woman that caught her husband (since divorced) in bed with another woman, I totally feel your pain. It is emotionally devastating for that to happen at any time, much less post op. What I want you to know is this, when i finally picked myself up and dusted off my rear end and living life for me, my life started falling back into place. I still loved my ex too, but finally realized I deserved better. You deserve better too, cheating is a pansy's way out. Also, you must eat to keep your stregnth and maintain losing. HUGS! -

Company In The Hospital?
kwindham replied to scorpion509's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dana, yes they gave me something for the nausea, I was maxed out on Zofran and Phenergan, plus they put the patch on me before surgery to help prevent the nausea. im sure it helped, it just didn't seem like it at the time. I was miserable! I have to say though, that was the only time I ever wondered, why did I do this to myself?! Other than soreness and minimal pain after 24 hours, it has pretty much been smooth sailing. If I never lost another pound, I would still have this surgery 100X over for the results I have gotten in just a little over 4 months. It is totally worth 24 hours of pure misery! Good Luck!!! -
Company In The Hospital?
kwindham replied to scorpion509's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My husband was halfway around the world working when I had my surgery, but my parents were there during and after the surgery. My brother came and stayed the night that night when my parents left. Support is extremely important. I was in pain and the nausea was horrendous! I never vomited, just constant terrible heaving and nausea. It was very nice that there was someone there just to hand me a cold cloth to lay over my neck and wipe my mouth, call for the nurse if needed, cheer me on when it was time to walk when all I wanted to do was sleep. You really should consider having someone there before, during, and after the procedure. Before the procedure you will need the emotional support because its possible you will be nervous. -
WOW!!!! Well done!
