My insurance company requires a 6 Month diet before the band, and I was wondering how much weight should I lose? If I loose too much maybe they will think I don't need the band and if don't lose any they may feel I'm not motivated enough for the band.... So Id like to How much other people have like what does the diet involve

I'm 24 with a bmi of 49 and I go to the seminar on 5/2 . My insurance company requires a 6month diet with pcp, I'm hoping they will waive that for me. I'm afraid but know this is what I need -
