People Magazine - 1/2 Their Size Issues
Nile replied to Superali72's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
What's the problem with the band being "the easy way out"? i don't really care how i did it, i just care that i'm finally out . And the people that says "he got surgery" are just envious -
I have that problems too, but i know that it's way better to face the problems than hidding them under a big pile of food. In the past when i had a problem i used to eat lots of food and forget about the whole problem, now i try to deal with the problem so at the end of the day it won't bother anymore.

First Six Months of Lap Band: Average Weight Loss??
Nile replied to bwaydiva's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I lost 130 lb in the first 6 months -
I was watching a TV show where they show surgerys and tell the story of why is the surgery happening and all that kind of stuff, there was this huge 40 year old male getting a hip replacement if i recall correctly and i though "i'm only 17 (was at that time) but within a couple years if i continue this way that could be me, it's time to do something for myself" and then went to my parents and told them i wanted a lap-ban to help me with my weight issues because i couldn't deal with them by myself, and they were 100% supportive Good Luck, saludos! :clap2:

Do you use the band as a dieting tool or a life style change?
Nile replied to StephC's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I use it as a lifestyle change, i diet yes but i'm not too worried about going off the diet. When i have the chance to go to an asado (similar to american barbacue ) or a family dinner i eat everything i want, in smaller portions obviously but i don't really count calories (i did a while ago but i found out it was very stressing so i just stopped) -
I'm 18 and it's been great, i would do it again in a heartbeat
-
I think we all had that kind of people telling that "you should bla bla bla or bla bla bla", but if you really think you need it and that it'll help you whats the point of listening to them?
-
I've got 15-20 pounds down a month before surgery when i stopped using salt and drinking coke but thats it, i was obese all my life and could never drop a freaking pound... i think the lap band really saved my life (or at least my mental health)

Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY
Nile replied to DeLarla's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Before (it's from my licence, i don't really have many before pictures =( but i'll try to look for some more) After I'll get some full body pics later Good Luck, saludos! :clap2: P.S: The "good boy" look on the last pic is not by any means intentional :phanvan -
I have 18 years old and have some loose skin mainly in my arms, i'll return to an exercise rutine in 1~2 weeks (i haven't been able to go to the gym since december because of a leg injury), i hope it'll get better but i'm not sure because of the "estrias" in my skin (i really don't know how to spell "estrias" in english, they are lines that form in your sking when it stretches too much). Good Luck, saludos! :clap2:

How Many Calories Do You Consume On An AVERAGE Day?
Nile replied to WASaBubbleButt's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
600-800 it's actually hard for me to go over 700 or 800 if i do 6 meals a day as my nutrisionist told me -
I got that kind of hunger too, when it gets me i go to the fridge pick a big bottle of water and i drink it like there's no tommorrow in 5 minutes the only thing in my mind is to go the bathroom other option for me is to grab a pack of free sugar chewing gum . I tend to get it the days i'm feeling sad and i think it's 100% psychological so i don't really need the food i just want it! Good luck, saludos! :clap2: P.S: I saw your flickr photo album, you're gorgeous! :nervous

I've lost 139 lbs in 7 months, i can't really workout (i have pain in my left leg when i do since december 15 or so and it's getting better this days with the help of a kinesioloy treatment) so i think my "secret" (if it can be called that way) is to eat lots of veggies and fruits, no fats, no salt, no cooking oil, drink lots of water (no coke, sprite or similar) and also to keep my motivation high is to always weight myself when i woke up :notagree so i can start the day with a goal in my mind, one day at a time it's the way to go . Good luck, saludos! :clap2:

Are you sure it isn't on the right side too? because i've had that feeling too and i had gallstones (got my gallbladder removed one week and a half ago). Also the pain goes away when you put heat on it (like a warm bath) because it stops the spasms on you gallbladder, at least thats what my doctor has told me.

Good luck on your new life, you don't have to be so afraid about the liquid diet only the first days are hard then it gets easier every day. You have to make sure your mind is focused on your goal and convince yourself that you are taking the right steps on the path to achieve them. Remember you're in control of your eating habits now not the food, you're not a prisoner anymore! you're a warrior RWAAAAAAAAR hehehe . That two things is what helps me every day to do things right. Good Luck and have a nice journey

I have absolutelly no problem with alcohol. I drink on the weekends when i go out and the only different thing is the tolerance, in other words i get drunk with almost nothing. Take it slow and always drink with moderation (and don't drive hehe)

Good luck on your journey! I'm sure you'll accomplish all your goals and more :clap2:
