6 And 1/2 Month Since My Sleeve

Way to go!!! -
I would up the exercise... I walk, walk, walk... I find any excuse to get out of my chair. I'm 10 & 1/2 months out. Protein is the first thing I eat, then maybe a bite of veggies & fruit. I also use the myfitnesspal.com to track EVERYTHING I eat. You have to be honest with yourself, for the sleeve to work. If I feel I'm eating too much, I have a protein shake for a meal or one of my snacks! Good luck...

Good luck to you all... October is a good month to be sleeved! I had mine done October 26th, 2011 in Michigan. For me, it was the best thing I have ever done! Praying for all of you to have a speedy recovery! I'm 53, married (32 years) I have 4 grown children & 1 granddaughter. My highest weight was 250 lbs. & I'm 5'4"... Everyone at my house eats so much healthier now, because I only cook what I can eat. LOL!!! -

Don't Eat Fish...help!
Doreykn replied to robynluevano's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mashed potatoes aren't really good for you, as they are empty calories & high in carbs... now sweet potatoes are good, as long as you don't top them with sugars.... -
Help I Think I'm Dumping
Doreykn replied to ljperez's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will probably be fine...just takes time for that Frappe to leave your stomach. I hope you learned sugars are a BIG NO NO!!! -
I don't pay attention to what others are eating or doing...it's their lives Just as I wouldn't like them watching or commenting on what I'm eating or doing. If someone comments on how little I eat, I tell them that I had WLS... not afraid to tell the truth. Better than dying, I tell them! Then, if they want the details, I tell them about the surgery. The only thing that bothers me about food is the thought of GREASY or SUGARY foods. Makes my skin crawl... YUCK... but I'm not going to stop anyone from eating it around me. My family does eat better now, because I only cook what I can eat! LOL!!!

Cream of chicken cup a soup was my favorite... & to change it up a little I added garlic powder or Mrs. Dash seasoning.

Between the vitamins & walking it does help with the energy... It takes time, but when you start to lose, it does come off fast. Just follow ALL the drs, orders... Get your fluids & protein in & WALK, WALK, WALK.... Can't stress that enough! Good luck & don't be discouraged.

Hungry 2Hrs After I Eat....
Doreykn replied to Mskandi80's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 10 months out & I eat 5-6 times a day... 3 meals & 2 or 3 snacks... You just have to watch what you eat & always eat proteins first. Drink a lot of fluids (especially water). And walk, walk, walk... -
The Infamous Stall...
Doreykn replied to Curvy Girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Stalls happen... I had a 4 week stall! Just up your fluid intake & exercise a little more... I do a little extra walking or get on my exercise bike a little longer. I'm 10&1/2 months out! -
I Can Fly (Not Really...but I Do Have Wings)
Doreykn commented on tmorgan813's blog entry in A funny thing happend while I was loosing weight
LOL!!! I also have wings, saggy boobs & saggy ass syndrome... -
I was lucky & didn't have a drain...

Mac & cheese is out! Scrambled eggs, sugar free pudding, cottage cheese, sugar free apple sauce, cream of chicken soup, yogurt, mashed beans, egg salad... Good luck. If you want your sleeve to work, you will follow your Dr & dietitians orders... If you make a protein shake, put it in a blender with ice... Makes them taste soooo much better. I do the Body Fortress powder with ice & water in the blender. Delicious! And you can add sugar free pudding mix to it for added flavor. Try different combinations. Experiment, just don't go back to your old foods, remember that's what got us in trouble the first time. Good luck.
