I love water, but sometimes it get hard or boring, so I use Ocean Spray Cran- Pomegranate. It's sugar free & I freeze it until it gets slushy. Sooooooo good! Crystal Light is good for flavor too!

What Are You Going To Eat For Thanksgiving?
Doreykn replied to TiffanyC's topic in Food and Nutrition
I had a little bite of everything except mashed potatoes & corn (I don't like mashed potatoes & corn doesn't digest well!)... I was surprised at how fast I got full! So, I ate the turkey first, carrots, stuffing, sweet potatoes & a tiny bit of gravy just to taste! It was a GREAT Thanksgiving! Hoping everyone had a great day too! -
Mine was done @ Henry Ford Wyandotte... Dr Bilal Kharbutli. Couldn't be happier. Everything went smoothly & no pain except gas pains from the surgery!

Why No Drinking While Eating After Gastric Sleeve Surgery?
Doreykn replied to CJinMichigan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told that if you drink while eating, it will stretch the sleeve... Same goes for carbonated drinks. -
I guess I was fortunate! I didn't have to have a drain. They did a scan the day after surgery to check for leaks. Had to swallow some nasty stuff for the scan!

Looks like I'm the oldest so far on this post...LOL!!! I had my sleeve on Oct.26,2011... Will be a month tomorrow(ALREADY). I'm on a soft food diet now. The diets they give us are called "HEALING DIETS", so our stomachs can heal from the inside! NO SUGAR, NO FAT!!! That's the whole reason we went through this... to use as a tool to change our eating habits & to lose the weight we ALL want to get rid of! I won't even try sugary things or fatty things. Everyone in my house is getting use to not eating fried foods & they all eat what I fix! Ground turkey is now used & no frying anything! Baking, broiling & my crock pot are the ways I cook now. Good Luck to all! -
I Had My Gastric Sleeve Surgery On _____, And So Far Have Lost _____.
Doreykn replied to sabrina140's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Surgery on Oct.26, 2011 ...34 total lbs gone as of yesterday! -
Hello, I am fairly new to this. I had my Sleeve done on Oct.26th, 2011. Starting weight was 250, weight day of surgery 236.Today's weight 225! Hardest thing for me so far has been crushing the pills & mixing them them to get them down, but I'm learning! Hopefully it won't be long and I will be off most meds!!! I'm on a regular liquid diet for 2 weeks, then progressing from there. I have read some of the posts on here & they are quite helpful. I have high blood pressure, diabetes, bad knees & a bad back. I'm praying with the weight loss some of these issues are resolved! :yesnod: I look forward to meeting new people that have gone through the same. This me the day of surgery

My Dr. has me working on 3 meals a day with a snack in between each meal. And drink lots of liquids all day (except with meals No liquids then)! Egg salad is real good & I made turkey chili today & pureed it .Loving my food processor! Fat free refried beans with low fat shredded cheese was real good too!

I need some advice about the protien..help!!!
Doreykn replied to LeLe's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Took me a week or two before I could sleep on my sides. I can now sleep on my stomach at 3 weeks out today! Just felt like an empty spot on the insides(and it was) LOL!!! When I felt like I needed something other then water, I had beef or chicken broth. I also found that Liquid protein helped a lot. New Whey & Body by Fortress both make liquid protein, but I diluted them with water as they are real syrupy. I found another one today @ Walgreen's called, Hydrolyzed Whey Protein Shot. Not to bad taste wise either! Kind of pricey but easier to swallow! Good luck... -
Protein Shots 42 Grams of Protein per bottle
Doreykn replied to Shea's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I dilute the New Whey protein shots with water & freeze until just slushy...they go down so much easier! -
Hungry Girl 5 Days Post Gastric Sleeve Op!
Doreykn replied to BethH's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I'm 2&1/2 weeks post op and am starting pureed foods tomorrow! Can't wait!!!!! My blender is going to be busy! -
Wow! That was something else that you had to go through! So glad to hear everything finally worked out! Keep up the good work! I'm pretty new to this site myself. I was lucky that my insurance didn't require me to have weigh ins, just a medical necessity. I am Diabetic(pills only), high blood pressure & I have knee & back problems.

I also have small 5 incisions, the larger one about 2-3 inches above my belly button & is where they removed the stomach! All are healing great. I had NO drains & was very happy about that! And I didn't have to give myself the Lovenox injections at home either! Had the surgery on a Wednesday & was home on Friday!. Still on a full liquid diet until the 14th then it's on to pureed foods! Yay!!! I would like to add, that I am 52 & a grandmother of 1 that I want to be able to run with!!!! Some day real soon that will happen!
