Newly Sleeved, Tired And Gas Pain
Doreykn replied to koriswlj's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Walking is the best thing to get the gas out... (of both ends) Once I started passing the gas, I felt soooo much better! Burping wasn't doing it for me. Good luck & don't hold back on the release of gas, just let it out! -
"you're Fat (And That's The Cause Of All Your Problems)"
Doreykn replied to Flagstaffian's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I fell & hit both knees in 1993...didn't seek medical treatment at first because, after all, I just skinned up my knees...Then my knees started bothering me. Drs. said nothing wrong. So, I find a dr that will really look into my problems. I had problems after all! DUH!!! I tried for years to get someone to listen to me! Then my PCP tells me I should look into weight loss surgery to help with my knees & other medical conditions. Best thing I've ever done. The knees feel a little better, but NOT cured! And I know, no matter how much weight I lose, they will never be the same! I still take Tylenol #3 for pain, just not as often. Hope you find a dr that listens to you! -
Freshly Sleeved...with Lots Of Questions.
Doreykn replied to SicChl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I cut all my food up like I'm feeding my granddaughter. Small bites & chew it up real good! I have an exercise bike & should use it more than I do. We all have stalls, but keeping on the right track & getting off our butts & moving around really helps. Good luck! -
Do You Need To Carry Anything In Case Of Emergency?
Doreykn replied to bellabbr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'll have to ask about that too! I know they told me if I have an emergency to go to their ER... But emergencies don't always happen close to home or near that hospital... Thanks for bringing this subject up. -

I went through Henry Ford Wyandotte! Dr Kharbutli was my surgeon. -
You tried it & it didn't agree with you, now you know! At least you didn't eat the whole thing. Will power & a sleeve, what a nice combination!

3 Months Out And Sick To Stomach
Doreykn replied to crazycatlady8's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can tolerate meats, only if cut up into baby size pieces. Shrimp is what I have a problem with... Have you tried ground turkey? We use it in everything that required ground beef! Delicious & easier on the sleeve. -
Vitamin Deficiencies
Doreykn replied to mariemadeline's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm taking a chewable multi-vitamin 2 times a day, calcium citrate w/D3 2 times a day, B-12 2 times a week, Iron chewy bite once a day. Dr said @ 6months they will lower the multi-vitamin. Just depends on blood work. -

I buy a cheese log with cheddar & swiss w/ slivered almonds on the outside. I eat it with multi-grain club crackers...Delicious!!!

How Does Surgeon Take Out The Excised Portion Of Stomach?
Doreykn replied to Bubbaloo10's topic in The Lounge
I had 5 small incisions. The one just a few inches above my belly button is the larger one (about 2 inches now). I asked the dr about that one & he said that's where they remove the stomach. I was fortunate & didn't have to have a drain. My pain was minimal (mostly gas pain). Just over 3 months out & all healing nicely! -
Sounds like you are doing good. The gurgles happen for a while. I'm 3 months out & my daughter can still hear the gurgles across the room...we just laugh! You will find that every day get a little better. My first 2 weeks after were liquid diet. I loved my chicken broth! Good luck!

Not Even Two Weeks Out And Already Stopped Losing! I'm Not Even Eating!
Doreykn replied to AllForMy4's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think everyone stalls from time to time. Give your body time to adjust to your sleeve. The weight will come off. I have to exercise more after I get rid of this head cold! Good luck! -
