5 Days Post Op- Only 8Oz Liq/day And Under 200 Calories
Star1221 replied to SophieJaneB's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was still on clears at a week out. So my calories were so low. As for liquids, honey you have to try harder. Try using a shot glass. 1 shot glass per 15 minutes. Try broth or tea. Usually warm goes down easiest. I drank room temp water until about 6 weeks. It made it easier. If you're not careful, you'll make yourself sick. Good luck honey. I'm sorry I misunderstood. -

You're doing great on liquid. Congrats on that. And the calories... Sounds like mine about 5 days out. Still on clear liquids I take it? -
2 Days Out, Scared To Drink.
Star1221 replied to JentryB2020's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You'll just have to drink slow. Really pay attention. Mine was a small cramp, like drinking something ice cold on an empty stomach. Still kinda is. Everyone has their own. Someone I read, it was a hickup. Another their eyes watered... -
Nausea After Two Weeks Out
Star1221 replied to carr1015's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dehydration can cause you to get nauseous. I would be bad in the morning. Than someone told me this, so I upped my water before I went to bed... Nausea all gone. So since you know you're not getting your fluid, try that. As long as you're not hurting. If that's the case, call your DR. -
2 Days Out, Scared To Drink.
Star1221 replied to JentryB2020's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You need to drink almost constantly. Shoot for about 4 ounces an hour. That's one shot glass every 15 minutes. Maybe something warmer will help you. The last think you want is to get dehydrated. So sip sip sip. Later you will have less burping and it will go down easier. But for now, drink what you can, but drink as much as you can. -
I do a combo of both. I mostly watch the carbs. They have never agreed with me. Plus carbs make you retain Water (up to 10 pounds sometimes) and they make you crave them. My typical day of eating at almost 3 months post op. Breakfast- Protein shake- Premier or atkins. If atkins, then I add some unflavored to boost it up a little. 140 calories, 2-3 carbs, 20+ grams of protein Snack- Low fat string cheese. It has like 50-70 calories. Lunch- Shrimp, chicken, or turkey salad. Fat free dressing. Usually spinach, a sprinkle of cheese, dressing. 200 calories or so, 15 or 20 grams of protein Dinner- Baked or grilled chicken. Green beans- 150 calories 15 protein Snack- Maybe a handful of nuts- high in fat and calories. But helps with the need for crunch. So I get around 600-700 calories, 60+ protein, 30 grams of fat or so, and average 20-30 grams of carbs.

Star1221 replied to SweetSusie1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Congratulations!!! You are doing fantastic. All those NSV. WOW. With pants, those are weird. It takes a while for them to catch up. But when they do, it's all at once. I went from a 22 to an 18 in what seems like a day. It was at around 50 pound out as well. Now a 14 is a little tight but 16's are a little big. It will come. Keep up the great work. -
Omg I Just Ate Cake 8 Days After Surgery
Star1221 replied to Mishy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't have fudgecicles, but that is how I treated popcicles. I wouldn't eat them everyday for that reason. So I had a "treat". I was on full liquids for a month. So I feel the pain -

My husband and I were play fighting today, which we often do, and out of no where he pulls a move never used on me before... He grabs my collar bone! I didn't know I had them... He told me they've been poking out a few weeks now. Went to the bathroom mirror to check... I'll be damned.. there they were. NSV number 1227... Lol...(or so it feels lol)

Dealing With The Skin
Star1221 replied to note2bear's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Exercise is the only thing that will have any effect on the loose skin. No lotions will do anything. So lots of cardio and crunches. -

Yup. It also depends on how far out you are. At 4 weeks, half an egg and half a yogurt was about my max. Now I can eat a full egg with a piece of turkey bacon :-)
