Need Some And Advice--A Little Gross
Star1221 replied to tx_girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take Miralax every other day. It keeps it "Flowing". I had this problem pre op, so I know it would be an issue post op. -
I Swear To God I Could Choke My Husband Right Now!
Star1221 replied to reneeclark1276's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I can promise you that it's not the protein that is stalling you. You are freshly sleeved, as I just checked your profile. I did atkins, many times through the years... I at a lot I mean A LOT of protein. This is not the problem. Also, looking at your tracker, you are doing fantastic. You might have hit a small stall. Don't fret. You are so early out that your body is freaking out about the lack of calories. Are you getting your fluids in? I noticed when I am in a stall, this usually kicks it out. Don't be mad at your husband. He was trying to help... Hell, mine tests me by offering me bad stuff...LOL. (Playfully. Not for reals.) So calm down. I promise the scale will move in the right direction. I was stuck at 231 or almost 4 weeks. I am at 208 now. It will move.Congrats on the weight loss thus far. You will do great. -
You hit the 3 week stall. It's very normal. I hit mine a little further out, but it's still the same. Your body needs time to catch up. My stall lasted 3 1/2 weeks. Don't get discouraged. Now's the time to take out the measuring tape and take measurements. I stalled from week 5 through week 9. I was 231 during the stall. I am 12 weeks now... I am 208... So no worries. You got it honey.

I know it's hard waiting to put real food in your mouth (one month full liquids here). But I would suggest waiting until your plan says it's time. Your surgeon put this together because this is what he thinks causes the least amount of risk for his patients. Just hold on. Rather be safe than sorry.

These are incredible. You can tell how hard you've worked. And look at those GUNS Fantastic PdxMan... I hope to be basking in the glory one day as well.

Why Gain It Back?

I wish mine would drop some. I've always had a very healthy appetite. Stronger than my husband's lol. In fact 90% of our arguments are about me wanting more "attention". So I'm at 3 months. Hoping for a dip.

Can Shakes Be Considered Liquid?
Star1221 replied to CraftyV's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They are also considered liquids. So you can get your protein in as well as the 10 or so oz of liquids added to your daily total. -
Congratulations on your future sleeve. I wish I could've done it at your age. You're gonna see that the complications are going to be different than the bypass. Make sure to talk to your dr about how many patients have had issues and how many surgeries they've done. Those are things people forget to ask. Good luck. Time will fly these next few weeks.

List Of Can/can't Eat Foods...
Star1221 replied to Parker's Dad's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am one of the lucky ones, or unlucky depending how you look at it lol. I have had no problem with anything I've put into my mouth. I've had bread (though only a couple bites), red meat, a bite of cake. None upset my stomach. Now they taste different. Not sure if it's because I hadn't had them in moths or if my taste has truly changed. Hope this helped a little. -
Happy birthday honey. Your weight loss is incredible. I'm sorry to hear about your problems. Maybe the dr can figure something out so your "body" can catch up with your mind. Have a great day. :-)

Well thank you for the compliment. My schedule is what it is due to an 18 month old. I go to the gym before work so I can have more time with her. I go 4 times a week. But was doing that 2 months pre op. Calorie wise I keep it 600 to 700. But not really worried about calories. For me, carbs are that keep me from losing weight. I keep them from 20-30. I think the most important part for me is fluids. If I don't get them, I don't lose. So drink up lol
-
I can relate. I am 3 months today. But the only time I feel this way is when I'm not getting my fluids or calories in. I have a very active lifestyle, up at 2:30 to go to the gym, work my 5:30, home at 4, bed at 10. So maybe watch you fluids and calories. Track them. Maybe when you feel this way you might be lacking in one of these areas. Hope you feel better.

My Husband Is Scared
Star1221 replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just promised mine I'd listen to what my body was saying. That the moment I thought something was really wrong, I'd go to the hospital. He's a worrier anyways, so he really wasn't ok until my 6th week was over and he knew I'd live lol -
Starting On Solids, Confusing To Anyone Else?
Star1221 replied to reneeclark1276's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I lucked out. After full liquids for a month, my dr gave me a list that had a lot of regular foods on it. Chicken and shrimp being on that list. Never had to put anything in a blender, thank god lol. And have had no problems with anything I've put into my mouth. -
Feeling A Little Down.
Star1221 replied to amusgrave's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just think of it like this, if you're following your dr's plan, there's no way you can't lose. With the calories alone it makes it impossible. Add exercise to it, it the recipe for success. You guys got this. And weight is just a number, it's the NSVs (non scale victories) that mean the most. Smaller pants, shirt, and someone noticing that hasn't seen you in a while that says how great you look. -
Feeling A Little Down.
Star1221 replied to amusgrave's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are doing fantastic. You've just hit your week 3 stall. Put the scale away and watch as things start getting smaller... Arms, thighs, neck. Mine was a little later. Week 5-week almost 9 (yes almost a month stall) but don't worry. It starts falling off. I started at 275. I am now at 208. This since April 18th. So hold on. It will start coming off again. Make sure you're getting your protein and liquids. Maybe up the liquids a bit. That helps me. Good luck and congratulations on your journey thus far -
2 days here. I initiated. Just held my stomach to stop the jiggle lol. Now in the moment when your stomach tenses, you can't stop that. But it Just feels like you were sore from working out. After a few times it wasn't as bad. If you feel ready, start slow and enjoy

Am I Loosing Weight Too Fast?
Star1221 replied to cutisnurse21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
ONLY 40 pounds? 2 months and 40 pounds is FANTASTIC! Have you lost this much this fast before? I hate the word only. Celebrate every pound you lose and know it won't come back. -
I like the lower number. I am at the same exact spot you are. Home scale says 212. Gym scale says 208. Use both daily at the same time. So I like the lower one lol. Both digital but gym's is more expensive.
