I Need The Straight Skinny -Help

You have to focus on being healthy. That is why we should have the surgery. And the vanity is a nice side effect. You have to remember that people have different metabolism and the more they have to loose the more the will. If you only have 50 lb to meet your goal you are not going to loose as much as someone who has 200 to loose should not compair yourself. That being said I weighed 293 on 1/15 pre surgery weight on 4/15 was 284. Surgery 4/30 today I am 245. I feel great have somuch energy and for the first time I am starting to receive attention from females it feels nice. Only you can make this decision. I am not looking back and would do it again. Best of luck

    Dizzy

If you get dizzy when u stand this is most likely dehydration. You need to work to get fluids in and if you are falling into walls you should prob go to the er because that is where he will send u any way.

Are We All Doing This Too Soon?

I am a nurse I just turnned 40 thought I had life by the balls. My BMi was 40 thought I dident have any health problems. Started with gout went to have my carpal tunnel fixed and had severe high bp. Started taking meds for that. Then my hips and knees and low back constantly ached. The weight piled on and then sleep apnea. I say these things because I have seen the long term effects of obesity. And people who had bypass I woul never have bypass unless I had to. I had a lot of the same feelings you are having. The sleve has been done for many years as the first part of a 2 part bypass in very large people who could not tolerate the entire bypass surgery and they lost several hondered pounds then had the bypass. I think this is the safest of all the procedures. I know it has been said this is only a tool and you can not do the things you are to do and you will regain your weight. It involves life changes that you can do. It is never too late to starting to be healthier. I was 293 before I started my preop diet I am down to 250 in 6 weeks I feel better than I have in 10 years. I want to eat healthy and exercise now. Obeasity is a bad cycle the bigger we get the less energy more depressed we get the more we eat. Stop the cycle now. It will only get worse. The sleve has changed my life

    Emotional Wreck!

The nurse in my doctors office before i left my one week appointment warned me that i would have emotional issues and if that is what having PMS kinda feels like god bless you women. but i am 7 weeks out and still having days like that but mine is mostly tired due to the amount of time i work i think. or that is what i am sticking with it.
  5. I feel the same way when I look at old pic from 2 months ago and 50 lb I hardly recognize me. You look great
  6. If you gave your age I did not catch it. I am sure you had cardiac Clearence before surgery. And you have been living a healthier lifestyle. But we all abused our body prior to surgery. Where I am going with this is if you were able to exercise with out problems before and now you are not. You should discuss this with your family dr. Because some times this is the only warning sign before a heart attack. ( not trying to scare you) but should get it checked.
  7. Mamma t The first two weeks are the toughest. I was sleeved on 3/30/12 the first week is sugar free clears. So you have minimal calories once I started drinking the protein drinks I had a big increase in energy. The headache is from dehydration most likely. If you had a lot of caffeine before surgery could be withdrawal. Please don't question your decision. I was going through my phone last night and found a picture from January showed it to some one did not realize it was me. I have lost 40 lb since prepping I am past my 3 week stall and down from a 2 xl to xl and they are big. I feel great. Just keep up the fluids. You are doing great.
  8. Had my sleeve on 3/30 down 35 lb feel great looking for someone to work with to encourage each other for exercise and diet.

    1200 Calories?

I have just finished my three week stall. I started peop at 293. 285 day of surgery and was at 263 untill today. I have been working and eating mostly what I was told to. I am a nurse and have been thinking about this. I think part of the stall comes from our body being in starvation mode and conserving any calories we consume. The othere is we have completely emptied out our GI tract with the prepped cleanse and liquids. So as our intestines fill with waste it will add weight. Untill start having regular bowel movements. The reason to increase calories is to get your body out of starvation mode. Also need to increase water intake to wash awaw all the biproducts. Just keep doing what u are I dropped 3.5 lb in 2 days as hard as I try I can't go a week with out checking the scale I know I should not. Hope this helps.
