Any advise for sleeve patients that had their surgery a title over 2 years ago? I have gained about 6 pounds in the past 6-8 months. I'm nervous about gaining weight. It seems that I'm eating more and craving bad stuff. Anyone experience that? And what did you do. I'd really appreciate some sound advise. Thanks.

I Can't Do This I Need Support
swilke replied to anais02's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Very interesting about the liver. I think that explains something for me. My doc had me do no pre op except no water past mid night. I have a fatty liver and after surgery my right side was extremely bruised and swollen. It's still some what swollen. I asked about it because it puts me quite lop sided. He said it was from a contusion and my liver was so enlarged he took a biopsy. So maybe I had so much bleeding swelling and bruising due to the lack of pre op dieting. Hmmmmm. Though I did watch carefully what I ate pre op. just thinking things through. And by the way. I'm very impressed by the caring, supportive, and thoughtfulness of everyone who posts. Nobody knows anyone yet everyone is so helpful. . Thanks -

My Dr. Said to stay away from sweeteners like sweet n low, splendra, equal, etc. he said honey, brown sugar, then white sugar. Said for me to choose things close to the ground. Home grown. I'm sure other dr.s have other opinion.

Feeling Like A Failure

Peacequeen. Do not give up. Tomorrow is a new day. I am sure you know what your suppose to do, so pick yourself up you can do this. Start at the beginning with your proteins and water. Stay focused one meal at a time. We are In this together. It's really not easy and it is a decision every day. Hang in there. -
I used a heating pad. It seemed to really help.

Wow. Thanks everyone. I'm almost 6 weeks out. I've done well, I think. I have lost 18-20 lbs and about 3 inches almost everywhere. I seem to be In a holding spot teetering 177-179 for over a week now. I see To be able to eat too much. Well it seems to much because I'm full and often am nervous about busting open my stomach/stitches. I eat too fast too though I have not gotten sick. Very uncomfortable. I think I'm eating slow. Well i am compared to what I used to. I have this other problem. If someone could help???? It's a bit embarrassing, but i am constipated really bad. I've been taking 2 dulcolax moved it to 3 tonight. And eating 2-3 prunes. I had veggies last night and today. And I ate some spinach instead of lettuce in my salad. Hmmmmm any ideas? I think I'm not getting enough water maybe 40 oz

If you over eat do you automatically stretch your stomach? And how do you know you have a leak?

Hi I'm going on week 3 as well (4/11). I'm eating more really haven't lost any either in the past few days. I'm worried cause my dr has said to listen to my body, get protein and water in, but eat what I can. Stay away from veggies and salad for a few more weeks. He says eat things close to the ground. I'm eating regular food. Not much, but chicken, tuna, etc. I hope I'm doing ok because I read alot where people seem to be on full liquids for weeks and weeks. I do not want to stretch my stomach. Nonetheless hang in there. Do what the dr says and I'm sure it will come off.....

Way to go. -
Sleeved 4/11/12. Feeling really good. Eating consists of some cream of wheat then an hour or two later some Greek yoguart. A few hours later some creamy soup a few hours later some jello. This goes on all day. In between I'm drinking isopure and water or tea. Is this too much food. I'm not eating alot at each setting but I feel like I'm eating all the time. I don't want to hinder me loosing weight? Please advise. Thanks

I'm confused as to why but he/she is your dr. So they know best. However I'm 8 days out. My dr said to listen to my body. Start on full liquid and go down. Im eating yoguart mash potatoes crm of wheat creamy soups Popsicles along with protien shakes isopure etc. I feel fine. I've been off of work since surgery and go back Monday. I think I'll end up doing like 1/2 or3/4 days. I've been resting resting resting. Sipping sipping sipping. I know this did not answer your question but I'm not sure why your diet is so stiff. Sorry:(
