So today, I went to the dr and got my date! They are sending off for my insurance approval tomorrow, I'm praying I get approved!! I don't see why I would get denied. My date will be July 17th!! I'm so excited!

I know! I just hope the approval is just as quick!

My first visit was April 11th. So between 4/11 and today, I did my psych eval & nutrition class. My labwork was done on my first visit. So now just waiting for insurance approval!

Thank you all!! I'm very excited and anxious! It does seem like forever away, but then again I'm not stressing that because it was JUST Christmas yesterday it seems! Lol. And I didn't ask my doctor about a referral letter, perhaps I should mention that! My doctors nurse is great, she's so involved in everything so maybe ill talk to her about that!! Hi Carol, I'm in the same boat as you! I've done my psych eval, nutrition class, and lab work/initial consult so far. I go back to the DR tomorrow and hopefully they will be sending off for my insurance approval this week. Hoping for July!! Welcome, and hopefully we can chat and update each other on our progress! LOL..well I cannot wait to sneak in the back door of that club!! I don't even go near the other sections..I go straight to the plus size, because its disappointing seeing all those cute clothes they don't make in plus sizes! I'm looking forward to so many things..just being able to fit in chairs at work and other places comfortably..not reminding my friends to get a table bc I can't fit in most booths at restaurants. Oh I can't wait!! And kcage, I haven't joined myfitnesspal.com yet! I am going to, my co-worker/friend told me she loves it and it helps her keep up with her intake of everything. Sounds very helpful! Also, I've never been small..since childhood..and that's not my goal now. Just wanna be at a comfortable and healthy size! Goodbye size 20/22!! Lol

Well..I'm sure a lot of people on here can relate. I've been overweight for most of my life (I'm 23) and I started getting chubby in like 2nd grade..so I've missed out on having a "normal" childhood and being a "pretty girl"..I mean I don't think I'm ugly, but I've always been the fat friend out of the group. When my friends and I go to the mall, I head for the make-up and beauty products and they head for clothes! They walk in American Eagle, I go in Lane Bryant..I'm tired of being the fat friend!! BUT....I cannot picture myself being smaller..I just feel like I'm going to be the failure! Like I'm destined to be forever fat! Does anyone else have this issue?? Please respond!

Thanks to EVERYONE who responded!! I was starting to think nobody read what I wrote on here! Lol. I am completely ready to be happy and healthy, and my attitude has always reflected my happiness and confidence. I am worried about what I will wear once all my current clothes are too big..but I'm going to try to remember that they will probably still fit for a while, because right now they are just "tight" lol!! Thank you Lolly2369, I definitely hope my new body will compliment my face!! This will be the biggest change of my life and I am VERY excited to spend it with all of you guys!! I love this forum and it's a great support group!! So far, every question that has popped into my mind about the surgery (pre or post op) There has been an answer on here! Im going to TRY MY HARDEST to do my very best with this journey!!! Thank you all!!! :)

Oh wow..that is so scary!! What if we do everything right (no cheating) and it still isn't small enough? Its really starting to worry me..like I'm the girl with the largest liver ever..lol. but really, I hope mine shrinks down from the diet! Maybe those horror stories will be my motivation to not cheat!!

I've yet to get my surgery date and pre-op diet info..but I am quite curious as to what would happen if your liver didn't shrink enough? I'm afraid I will cheat on the pre-op diet, but I pray that I won't. A friend of mine told me her dr told her that he canceled someones surgery after beginning it (as in after cutting them open) because their liver was not shrunk. worries...

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has BCBS Nebraska? And if so, how long did it take for approval? I've done everything (psych eval, nutrition class, bloodwork) and I go back to the dr Monday 5/14. They will send off for my approval hopefully then. I'm getting frustrated, soo ready to get this done! Any comments are welcome..even those w/o BCBSNE. Thanks!

I'm 22, and I've just started the whole process for my sleeve surgery. I too, have concerns about the skin sagging, I'm quite afraid that it will be a lot! I weigh 319 so I know there will be some sagging. I'm scared of the whole process, but I am going to stay on track with this. Its great to see that a lot of people (especially around my age) have no regrets! I cannot wait!
