I'm struggling on the pre op diet. I'm scheduled to have the band with plication on May 8th. What were you ladies required to do for pre op diets? I hope I haven't screwed up my recovery. My surgeon required 2 wks on low fat diet with at least 2 Protein shakes per day. 48hrs before surgery no solids. -
I haven't done so great on my pre op diet, but only 3 days til surgery I'm determined to make it all liquids the rest of the way. Thankfully I don't have a fatty liver but it certainly won't hurt to loose a few more lbs before surgery. 48hrs of liquids only will be rough but like I said I'm determined to make it.

I was a little nervous too...but there was nothing to it. The last thing I remember before being put under is putting the teeth guard in my mouth and laying down. When I woke up my throat was a little scratchy but otherwise fine. You'll do great, don't worry too much.

Yeah I'm not telling anyone either! Don't want to hear any negativity, period! I've done my research and I know the risk. My risk-benefit analysis tells me there are more benefits than possible risk. So glad I have all of you to be encouraging :-))

Good for you. I have not done a great job on my pre-op diet, but I'm re-focused today. So far I'm down another 3lbs with 6days to go. My Dr. requires 48hrs of liquids only before surgery....not looking forward to that at all

Glad to see you're doing ok. Did you Dr give your the Phengen gel ( you rub it in on your wrist) for nausea? My surgery is May8th....I'm so excited and nervous all at the same time. I can't stay off this website...reading everyone's stories is inspirational.

I bought the pre-mix version of EAS Myoplex Lite(20g protein) & EAS AdvantEDGE Carb Control (17g protein) both from Sam's club. They are really good in both vanilla & chocolate.

I'm getting banded May 8th too. Started low-calorie& low fat diet Sunday. Anyone else been told to get their gallbladder out?

Ready2, I'm tickled pink to find your success story. I am the exact height and weight as you pre-band. I'm praying for the same results. Just wondering, now that you are a few years post op how do you feel about your long term success? Is being banded after losing the weight hard? Are you still getting fills? Current weight 230 BMI 35 : Goal weight 150 BMI 24

I'm worried at not having energy with only Clear Liquids post op. Anyone suffer from fatigue? My plan is to have surgery on Tues May8th and go back to work he following week. I have an office job but I'm thinking I might have trouble carrying my laptop bag across the parking lot (about the size of a football field) then through the plant (another football field) to my office? Any thoughts? -

He we recommended by the ladies at true results but I chose him after attending one of his seminars. Didn't find anything negative about him online and yes he's the only surgeon in Houston doing the iband. As far as insurance, none of the carriers are covering the plication because it is still investigational. Good news though, Dr. Wilkenfeld is not charging extra for it. -

My surgeon, Dr. Richard Wilkenfeld in Conroe (suburb of Houston) was trained by Dr. Smith. I'm scheduled for May 8th. So far I love his office staff. His wife is a RN and does a pre-op class great. She even gives her cell number for emergencies. Im nervous but really impressed with them. I'll keep everyone up to date on my post op. -

Thanks for all the helpful information. I'm in Tx also - the Houston area. I'm scheduled for the iband May 1st. Just wondering ladies, are you telling your co-workers about having the band. Im terrified of all the questions regarding weight loss. How are yall handling it?
