I had lap band sugergy in April 2012; I am NOT experincing any stuck issues throughout the day. In fact, I am scheduled for a fill on January 9th as I am not in the Green Zone yet and I do not have any restriction. However, the last few nights, I have been awakened with a tight feeling in my chest. It almost feels like a "lump in my throat" but it is lower. I know ---> very bizarre. Does this happen to you? What is this feeling all about? Thank You for your input.

Tightness in Chest ~ ONLY at Night?
LadyMaggie replied to LadyMaggie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
No, I did NOT figure it out. My lap band surgeon acted like it was not a big deal and went ahead with a fill on Wed. Jan 9th; it only happens at night, still have the pain. I have had my band since April 2012 ( 9 months ) -
Sore throat stuck feeling
LadyMaggie replied to mgbenavides2003's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am having the same issue; I feel like I have a "raw" / sore throat but NO other symptoms. (i.e. NO fever, etc.) and also have the cough with some excessive burping; but do NOT feel stuck ----> VERY odd indeed! -
i had a similiar issue; my doctor had me do liquids for 2 days; move to mushies for 1 one day; and then lectured me about CHEW, CHEW, CHEW and eating small bites (about the size of a pencil eraser). Good Luck

B 52 -- love this topic and post. . . agree with what you said; my surgeon was very conservative on the fills; just wish I had known it would take me 9 months to get to the "green zone" which I believe I just got to with my recent fill on Wed., Jan 9th.

Protein Shots (2.9 oz)-anyone tried these???
LadyMaggie replied to DisplayName's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes, to me, they have a bitter after taste. So, I bought the orange flavored and added them to my orange juice. Personally, I just prefer to use the UNflavored UNjury protein powder. I add it to my o.j. and NO after taste ~ good luck ~ -
honestly, even WITH the land band, this period known as bandster HE** is pretty tough; you must have will power; I still struggle with knowing the difference between "mental" hunger (all in my head) and physical hunger (I REALLY need to eat something). good luck

high protein breakfast ideas
LadyMaggie replied to lifewillbegood's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes, the UNflavored unjury is really UNflavored. . . I spent a ZILLION dollars on products from GNC, Wal-mart, and at my doctor's office trying lots of Protein powders and shots. . . could NOT tolerate anything EXCEPT the UNflavored UNJury. It REALLY is a great way to bump up your protein count withOUT increasing calories. I call it my life line with this band. You can add it to your O. J. in the morning ---> especially if you are too tight to eat food and you avoid the feel of "another protein shake". Good Luck ~ -
high protein breakfast ideas
LadyMaggie replied to lifewillbegood's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I say go with the oatmeal and add a scoop of the UNflavored UNJury; it is a big jump start to have breakfast and protein ~ seems to work for me -
Well, until you have restriction and in the green zone; the 1/2 cup is a challenge. . . or at least it is for me. I had lap band surgery in April 2012; I also have an AP Large Lap Band that will hold 14 cc's; currently have 9 cc's; still not in the "zone" . . . go in for another fill on January 9th.

I agree 110% with the post (above) by B-52 . .. . feel the SAME way -
Has anyone tried the protein chips? Where is the cheapest place to buy them??

YOUR THOUGHTS: BariWise Protein Potato Chips
LadyMaggie replied to LadyMaggie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well, they do sell them at my lap band surgeon's office; my nutrionist recommends them; but they are $2.00 for a small bag. They are made for bariatric patients --- these are NOT regular potato chips. I am looking for the best flavor and best value if I am going to buy them -
1 year...90 pounds...and some (hard learned) sage advice
LadyMaggie replied to cantbetoothinortoorich's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Awesome story . . . thanks for sharing! -
How long did you spend in BANDSTER HE**. I would like to at least progress to purgatory. I have been in HE** since April 2012. The willpower is fading FAST. . . this feels so much like another "DIET" without restriction or being in the green zone . . . . UGH
-
My lap band surgeon will ONLY fill every six (yes 6) weeks; I have gone to his office regularly since being banded and meet with my nutritionist every other visit; I am logging daily food intake on My Fitness Pal and I did join AnyTime Fitness . . . but I would like for the band to do its part ---> SOON

There are some REALLY GOOD recipes on the stage for liquid, mushies, etc. . . . check out the link to access the RECIPES (LINK: http://www.lapband.com/en/mylapband/dashboard/) GOOD LUCK ~
-
Wow . . . sorry about your issues with the band. Good luck as you move forward into the new year!
-
Just make sure you are VERY informed and educated about the entire process. I did not do enough research about Bandster HE**, hair loss issues and constipations. No regrets . . .. yet~ GOOD LUCK on your journey
-
I am also ready for a fill and see my doctor on January 9th; there is a veteran lap band poster on here who says "Lap Band withOUT restriction is just another diet". . . I agree with this and struggle to stay in the Green Zone; had an UNfill last visit; will get a FILL the next visit. . . GOOD LUCK
-
my lap band surgeon told me to keep pineapple juice on hand; drink it for stuck issues . . . it works!
-
just make sure you are VERY informed and educated; research Bandster HE** and how to deal with obstacles like hair loss and constiplation; it is a VERY personal decision and it is NOT the "easy way out" . . . lots of hard work, dedication, will power and committment required
-
my doctor says when I have this feeling to drink pineapple juice; it will move one way or the other . . . good luck
