Something similiar happened to me. I was having a birthday party for my grandson and my sister announced "Yes, I would like to lose weight too, but I am not going to the EXTREME of having surgery to do it!" I did NOT tell her about the surgery for this very reason, but my mother felt like she needed to know.. . .

I have an AP Lap Band that will hold 14 ccs; I have had 4 fills and currently have 7 ccs in my band and have NO restriction; my surgery date was on April 9th of this year. My doctor told me from this point forward he will only had 1/2 cc at each fill. . . .

Thank you VERY MUCH for sharing your story. I am having a very frustrating month. I had lap band surgery on 04/09/12. I have an AP Large band that holds 14 ccs; I have had 4 fills and currently have 7 ccs in my band. I still do NOT have restriction and I have hit a plateau. I am really questionning my decision about what I have done. . . .

Is There Such A Thing As Too Much Protein?
LadyMaggie replied to RhondaMarie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
the protein whey shots help me a lot (42 grams of protein) ... if I don't have one, I tend to eat more -
I think I am going to be able to deal with the slow weight loss . . . but the comments I am getting about it from co-workers, friends and family members is getting OLD. I do believe that they thought I would wake up magically "skinny" after surgery.

Thank you for posting this today. I just returned from a fill and only got 1/2 cc and wondered if that would even help (?) I had lap band surgery on April 9th and am still seeking the Green Zone. So, I am also about 5 months out and getting frustrated with S-L-O-W weight loss.
-
Yo go girl!~ My willpower was strong a month after surgery but it is fading FAST . . . on count down until I hit the green zone for sure!
-
Me too! I joined Any Time Fitness in July (had lap band surgery in April).

I didn't know this information either. My surgeon is not very forthcoming with information . . . unless I ask the "right" question. I did not know what type of band I had until I received my lap band "meal" card in the mail. I have the Lap-Band (brand) and it is an "AP LARGE that can hold 14 cc. I have had 2 fills (currently have 6 cc) and I have NOT hit the green zone yet. My next fill is September 5th. I have to ask my doctor after the fill how many cc he added because he never offers to tell me. . . .

How Do You Burp?
LadyMaggie replied to Juli Salzman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I cannot burp either (had lap-band surgery in April) . . . I just thought it was because my surgeon fixed my hiatal hernia -
I have the Lap-Band AP Large with a max fill volume of 14 cc. My surgeon put 1 cc in the band at surgery to "prime" it; my first fill was 3 cc; my second fill was 2 cc and I am NOT in the green zone. My next fill is scheduled for September 5th and I am betting he sticks with 2 cc's. That will make a total of 8 cc and I am hoping I will FINALLY be in the green zone. . . . only time will tell. It has been a tough 5 months with this Bandster H-E-*-*-

I am not sure about how stress affects the band; I am a teacher and I can relate to your situation. I will say that WARM foods (oatmeal, soup, etc.) or WARM drinks help me the most. . . . good luck

I need to lose 70 (more) pounds to reach my goal weight. I realize everyone loses at a different rate. Is the average weight loss about 1 pound per week? I am not sure why I was expecting more ?? Thanks for sharing your story.

I had lap band surgery on April 9th of this year. I have a "Lap Band AP Large" with a max fill volume of 14 cc. I got 3 cc in first fill and 2 cc in second fill. I have lost 35 pounds (includes pre-op diet). Honestly, I feel like I have done all of the work through diet and exercise (I joined Anytime Fitness). I am scheduled for my 3rd fill in September. I had no idea it was going to take this long to get to a "green zone". My willpower is fading fast . . . just as it did in the past with other diets. I must have been wearing rose colored glasses because I missed the part about Lap Bandster HELL ~ whew ~ I have absolutely no restriction -- so it sounds like we are in the same boat!
-
I was addicted to diet soda before my lap band surgery in April of this year. I don't miss it a bit! I have substituted Fuze drinks (low sugar ones) and crystal light.
-
I have not had much restriction after my first fill OR second fill. I am on count down until my third fill (September 5) . . ~ whew ~ I didn't realize it was going to take 6 months to get into the GREEN ZONE
-
Everyone will post a different response. But, I did ask my doctor this VERY question. He said that the band MUST be "primed" when you have surgery. He said that my band was primed with 1 cc. I don't know that I understand the logic behind his answer . . . but that is what he said --- the band can't be totally empty.

I use the greek yogurt to make chicken salad ~ delicious

I feel you pain; we are in the same boat. . . yes the veteran's will tell you this is bandster HE**, my 1st and 2nd fill did not help get me in the zone; willpower and motiviation are fading and people keep saying "Wow, I thought you had lap band surgery". I have lost 37 pounds since April through diet and exercise but I would like for this band to help me out ~ URGH ~!

On Your First Fill, How Many Cc's Did You Get?
LadyMaggie replied to ☠carolinagirl☠'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
On my 1st fill, I got 3 cc's and on my 2nd fill I got 2 cc's; still not in the zone -
I am just curious if there is an "Easy Button" I need to get to my goal weight. My motiviation and will power are fading fast. Perhaps, I am not in the zone yet (?) Just curious if you reached your goal weight through DIET and EXERCISE or if the Band helped out. Thanks for sharing

I had lap band surgery on April 9th; 1st fill on June 6th (with NO restriction); had 2nd fill in July (WITH restriction now, YEAH) I have noticied that my band is tight in the mornings. It seems to loosen up as the day goes on. Can someone explain why this happens or if it happens to you as well (?) Thanks
-
I think this is "IT". . . I had lap band surgery on April 9th; first fill on June 6th. Went in this week for 2nd fill . . . and I finally feel like I have some restriction ~ WOOT WOOT. Now, this band and I can get to work and lose some more weight. I should be happy with a 35 pound weight loss but I want M-O-R-E . . .

Finally, A Little Restriction!
LadyMaggie replied to Sara75's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a 10 cc band; 1st fill was 3 cc's; today (2nd fill) was 2 cc's for a total of 5 . . . desperately seeking RESTRICTION > starting to feel like a DIET and the ole' will power is fading F-A-S-T. . . . I had surgery on April 9th and didn't realize that it took this long to get into the "GREEN" zone !~ whew ~!
