I was sleeved 4/2/12, no per-op diet ( I do what I want!) and I ballooned up to 330 because of my "farewell to food" tour over my last 3 months prior to surgery. I had no problems with the procedure, but adjusting took about 6 weeks...I finally broke through the depression and now I love my sleeve. I'm down to 254 and still dropping...so close to onederland! I walk all the time and ride a mountain bike, play tennis, and swim. I still do what I want. Because I'm a honey badger. -

Down 42 lbs. since date of surgery 4/2/12... and I do what I want! I dish out bold flavor and bust power moves! No seriously, I just eat protein shakes, wendy's chili, a grilled chicken leg here and there. Boar's Head OvenGold turkey breast and lacey swiss cheese (I roll them together)- I walk 2 miles at lunch at a local park, work out on the ellptical at home. One thing I did during a stall was have two snack size bags of lays potato chips, it blew me up but got rid of so much GUNK in my stomach- I lost 5 lbs the next day! food for thought....best of luck to all you fellow april sleevers.... -

I'm in Nashville, and I was sleeved on April 2, 2012. Went to Dr. Joya in puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I had a very good experience there. Down 22 lbs so far (3 weeks out) so it's going well...

It is....challenging. I've always been a bit of a maverick all my life and finding it hard to follow the "rules". They are there for a reason, though. I've learned through trial and error what I can do - and it's only been two weeks. Seems like just yesterday i was eating what I wanted without a second thought. There were many times where, after a meal, I'd say "did I really just eat all of that?!"...those days are gone now, but the urge to turn to food out of habit, boredom (nostalgia?) is still strong. My family is aware I did the procedure, as is my gf, but no one else. I am a little concerned about not eating in front of her, too. She is already self conscious about her weight and she fears that when I lose mine, I'll lose interest in her. So much going on at once. It's definitely been more challenging than I had imagined it would be. Good thing is my scars are heLing up nicely, and no complications at all. Also down 16 lbs since the day of surgery. -
