  3. waiting for surgeons office to get all my results in....UGH

  4. Ok, I read things on here about the physc assessment/evaluation, and I am worried now. I don't do good at job interviews because I get so nervous and people on here are comparing the assessment with a job interview. I am not depressed or on meds for anything nor have I ever been. Im just afraid my being nervous will make me answer questions wrong!! My assessment is 2hrs long and that's scary enough. I also read that they are there to weed people out, like find reasons to not qualify you. OMG! This is crazy to me. any thoughts and comments and helpful hints are wanted here! Have you gone? how long was yours? what were you asked? how should I answer? please feel free to leave any tips or remarks!! Mine is coming up on the 28th!!
  5. she didn't give me results or tell me that I needed to wait because of any reason. So, Im taking that as maybe a sign that all went well! I hope. lol

    Insurance Requirments

It was quick and easy. I was worried for no reason..lol she talked to me for probably 10min and then gave me a test on the computer, the test was questions were "agree" or "disagree" questions like, " my dad was the male influence in my life I love my dad" and "most people will steal if they think they wont get caught" and questions about wanting to hurt yourself or others and also about "seeing" ghosts and hearing voices that tell you what to do...lol it was about 30-45min. It went pretty good I think and she gave advice on eating and protein and stuff, things you hear from the NUT. Thanks for asking and remembering..lol I called the surgeons office and they haven't received the results yet, but when they do then I go see surgeon and wait for insurance approval. So excited!!
  9. good luck on your journey! I sure it wont take them too long to get back to you, but im not really sure. Im sure you will do great! keep us updated!
  10. appointments done and i am glad!!!

  11. I didn't have a pre-op diet and I am so glad, but then again I did have to come up with a 5yr obese weight history...I hope my insurance accepts it and approves me. I was over weight with bmi over 35, but it was under 40 for the past 5yrs so im really not sure if they will accept it. plus I have no comorbidities and never have so if I get denied then it will be because of the 5yr weight history. good luck and keep me posted, its nice to know other that are doing this in my area..lol
  12. I am doing the same...holding my breath and crossing fingers, toes, legs and everything else..lol what is an EGD? never heard of it.
  13. It seems to go that way, they will take as long a they can I guess..lol I think some places do it on purpose. at least you were approved YAY!!!
  14. I just got done today and the surgeons office said to wait 5 days to make sure the psych eval is there (guess it could take them 5-7 days to send it in) ugh..more waiting, but im super excited to met with surgeon and see whats next and what my insurance says..im going to be so mad if I went through all this just for a denial!!!
  15. WOW! that's just around the corner! I hope mine gets approved quick! good luck.
  16. Good luck Marcy! October is when Im hoping to have mine. still gotta wait for insurance though..ugh
  17. GOOD LUCK!! I just did my last preop appointment and now gotta make my first appointment with surgeon and wait and see what he and the insurance have to say...I need luck too! lol
  18. I have tried everything! I even started an album but cant even see those pics unless I got to my settings. Can anyone tell me how to put picture up for my "before"???? and can someone let me know if they can see the pics that I already uploaded, please??

What do you tell the haters?

I tell everyone Im trying to have surgery. The "haters" don't know anything about the weight loss surgeries, they are thinking we are taking the "easy way out". We know its a lifestyle change our doctors tell us that 100 times before surgery. They are jealous that we will lose weight fast and look better than them!! I would tell people to do their research before trying to give me info on something they know NOTHING about!! Some of struggle just to lose 5lbs, no matter healthy we eat or how much we exercise! If it bothers you that people have to throw in their 2 cents then I wouldn't tell anyone, but if you really don't care what they think...flaunt it!!! I am excited about having the surgery so I cant help but talk about it and Im ready for any haters. Doesn't matter what you do in life, get promoted, lose weight on your own, get a new boyfriend, have a baby....there will always be haters talking crap...so let them talk, because soon they will be talking about someone else anyway!! Stay strong and like the comment above...give 'em the finger...lol
  21. I chose the sleeve after doing a lot of research on it. I am a "light weight' im 5'6 and 250lbs and I know a few women who had the bi-pass and did great! but they were 300+lbs before. I know a woman who was about my size when she got the bi-pass and she is now on a feeding tube and her health is very poor, she almost died and she regrets having it done now. That scared me, I don't know if its because she was a "light weight" or if it was something she did wrong, all I know is I did not want that to happen to me!! I also saw women my size with better results from the sleeve, and seems like a lot of people are having revised surgeries from the band to sleeve and bi-pass to sleeve.

    United healthcare choice plus.

I have united also, high option. Its my husbands insurance through his employer. the employer accepts weight loss surgery on their insurance so I was excited to hear that. I was confused when I first started all this too. The employer has to have it as an option on the insurance and they can have specifications too. Mine is BMI of 40 or higher with no comorbidities or if it under 40 then you have to have 2 comorbidities (health issues) check what they are because they are all different depending on insurance. My insurance does not require a diet before surgery, however, I do have to have a 5yr obese weight history documented by doctor appts, weight watchers or anything that shows at least one weight for each year proving I was over weight for 5yrs prior to this...ugh its a mess but just keep fighting!

    Its about to be on!

YAY!!! I bet youre excited! I cant answer any questions since I still have one more appointment before everything gets sent to insurance. But I can only imagine the sleepless nights and anxiousness you must have...good luck and be safe!
