Uhc And True Results Not Being In-Network?
MandaElaine replied to mufasas-mom's topic in Insurance & Financing
That's how my boyfriend had his done as well. He also has UHC and they covered the hernia and not the band. All and all is cost a little over $5500. He paid the $5500 cash that day. He has had a few things trickle in but nothing extreme. Definitely well worth the money. I just now wish I would have paid cash because fighting the insurance, after them saying it was covered has been a hassle. -
Uhc And True Results Not Being In-Network?
MandaElaine replied to mufasas-mom's topic in Insurance & Financing
I have UHC and also used Dr. Benavides. As far as them covering your surgery that is correct they will be billing through the dr office so all that is covered BUT and I repeat BUT, for your after surgery care it is not covered and they will not take care of it. They billed my insurance $600 for a FILL which I am now responsible for. I have been fighting with my insurance on this because I was told that everything would be covered. Now they are telling me I need to find a different facility in my network if I want my fills covered. It's a huge mess. Dr. B is a wonderful physician but if you want to save yourself some hassle I would definitely find a dr and facility that is in network. -
I have UHC and had to do a 6 month diet plan. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk, SW: 225CW: 201 GW: 130

Ok ladies I have a question. I had my fill done on the 19th of June, as I told you it didnt hurt at all. Now about 3 - 4 days after my fill it has been very sore. I dont know how to describe it and the dr said that it's just the muscle that is still sore. Now It didnt hurt like this before and my friend who had surgery at the exact same time as myself has had no pain at all. I know everyone is different, but this is strange. It doesnt hurt when I touch it and my stomach isnt swollen, red or feverish. So I have no clue what it could be and it's been really bothering me these last couple of days. Is anyone else having any type of soreness like this. Has anyone ever had a torn muscle that would be able to describe the pain? The dr said he thinks i've just torn the muscle and to take it easy but (you know me and my paranoia) i'm worried that it's my body rejecting this band. I dont want them to have to remove it because I love it!

I am the same way, for the past 7 years I have weighed more than my husband and it will be nice to actually weigh less than him. Love that you mentioned this!

Had my first fill yesterday and it went great. The surgeon had initially put in 3.4 cc, so yesterday they gave me 1 cc. It was the easiest thing I have ever done when it comes to needles. I was so terrified going in and let me tell you, for those out there that hate needles, it was nothing. I didnt feel a thing. They gave me lots of information, a lunch bag, a timer and even a measuring cup for my food. I learned several new things while I was in there. Just had to post for those still waiting to get a fill. I started off at 225 lbs and i'm now at 201.8, according to the dr's office scale. So I met my 10% goal. Very exciting. Next goal: ONEDERLAND! Would love to hear everyone's fill stories.

Mine next visit was rescheduled right then, and depending on my weight loss and how I feel they will assess my progress and let me know if I need a fill again.

Ewwww, no way! I can feel mine now, I sure dont want it poking out looking like something of the movie Alien. Of course being 100 lbs lighter by that point I guess I wont mind too bad.

My still is sore occasionally, now since i've had my fill it's been really sore but it's starting to ease up a little. Does anyone have an issue when bending over, can you feel it. Not really pain but just something. It bothers me. I dont know I want to get to the point where I never feel it.

@eyewonder - I'm such a big baby when it comes to pain. So I know if I can do it then no one should have a problem. Natalie - I have 4.4cc in a 10cc band. Congratulations on the weight loss! 16 lbs since surgery is great. My dr office gave me a performance sheet while I was in there and it described how much excess weight I had and until now I hadn't realized! I have like 87 lbs of excess weight. 87 LBS!!!! I couldnt believe that. So that has inspired me to get my butt in gear. That's larger than my 10 yr old! I'll have to lose the size of my 10 yr old plus some, that's just crazy. It's nice when people talk to you without talking down to you, that's what I love about my dr's office. They take such a wonderful approach to it, and of course the support of everyone here. I also have a little bruising by my port from the shot but I bruise easy. A little soreness from the bruise but overall feeling great. I would do this all over again!

To hear, "You look great, what have you been doing" To avoid all the complications that come with being overweight. To not look like a chunky in my drivers license photo

What Does Full Feel Like To You?
MandaElaine replied to azhoselady's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I tend to get the hiccups when i'm full! It's a great indicator for me. My dr told me I should never eat more than a cup of food total. So I do my best to measure every time I eat to keep me from getting that over full feeling. -
I have been walking 2 miles eachday/ 6 days a week since I had my surgery. I'm now able to walk that in 30 minutes! I want to add a zumba class or a workout dvd to add some extra.

K I have had this app for some time now and after reading LBT a lathe number of ladies use the site and app to keep track of their food intake and exercise. It's a great app and was wanting too see if any of the May bandsters would like to join me in keeping track and also keeping each other accountable. Myfitnesspal.com, they have a smartphone app as well. My username: MandaElaine

So far I have lost a total of 17lbs. I'm really excited and cant wait to continue my journey.

I also am only down 20lbs total and it's a little frustrating, my surgery was May 16 and my fill is next Wednesday.

Message me a link to your blog and I'll follow you!

Do any of you ladies have blogs? I have thought about starting one I just don't know if I would be as inspiring and creative as some of the ones I read. I also barely have time for the forums much less a blog. I would like to though.

Has anyone else's incisions been itching like crazy!!!! OMG

I was banded at True results as well. Dr Benevides was my surgeon, love him!

I had tried to lose weight about a year and a half ago and this was a great app/website to use. After reading several of the LBT forums I see that many ladies use this site to track their food, exercise and weight. With this you can add friends so you can hold yourself and each other accountable. I was hoping that some of you would want to join with me so each of you can help me hold myself accountable for my food choices and my workouts. They also have an app for the iphone and android, which I use the iphone app more than anything. My username: MandaElaine, please feel free to add me as a friend.

I'd like to hear what he has to say when you hear from him.
