Relief is coming after surgery I think it is a mental restriction after a few weeks you will be fighting your head more than your stomach. -

I'm sorry to say but I didnt freak out in the least I was absolutely exicted. Maybe cause I'm a surgical nurse it can work for you or against you. The major problem after surgery is your head you smell food you want I LOVE food to but I love me more sooo I took nude pictures of myself (ugh) 3 days after surgery never will share and everytime I think about swerving from my goalI look at them keeps me on track. I've lost 20 lbs as of today every month im taking a new picture Good luck to you think what you want and go full steam ahead -

Pre-Surgery Freakout!!

here's some things to think about. From a surgical nurse point of view. The surgery is less than a hour long in normal cases you have passed all the pre surgical test prior to surgery. Every one says its a go for surgery. yea sure SOMETHING can happen like you get run over going to the hospital. Now seriously your wieght is holding you back from enjoying the life you want and deserve. Everyone has done diet after diet and yooyooed up and down.before finally coming to the decision of lap band surgery. If you decide that you really cant do it then here"s what to expect in your future High blood pressure diabetes your legs cant support your weight so you will be wheel chair bound. then you will need some one to physically take care of you I had my surgery on April 11 and after the first day I hardly had any pain I didnt take any pain meds . As of today I lost 18 lbs. Its no picnic (lol) but I have a goal and nothing will keep me from it -
good for you !!!! GETTING HEALTH WHOO HOO
-
my 4 th post-op day but I'm not allowed yet to have full liquids. I also have problems bending but improving daily. Can't wait for protein shake tomorrow. whoo hoo
-
it can be normal up to a week for throat sensitivity get some chloraseptic spray. dont forget to mention to doctor on 1st post-op visit soo he can check it out

last night I took my first shower since surgery.could'nt wash my feet sent hubby to store to get me something so i have clean feet. he came back with this thing that looks like a flip flop with brushes inside very good idea. still on only drinking fluids no protein shakes till monday. stomach growls alot but I look at it and say "get use to it buddy". My Dr. wants you to drink 1 oz. every 20 minutes and consume 64oz. daily lol that means 3.75 hours sleep. will discuss this with him monday. I really am enjoying reading everyones post it keeps me grounded. My Dr. wants all his patients to attend groups not the way I want to handle this personal journey of mine. So peeps you are my group LOL. I see there are alot of nurses on this blog which is one reason I will continue being one myself
