About Me
Hello,
My name is Kim Marley. I am the Medical Director of the Bariatric Surgery program at Windber Medical Center, a Surgical Review Corporation designated Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence.
I completed my undergraduate training in health sciences at Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1979. I went on to receive my medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1983. Upon graduation, I began active duty with the United States Air Force and completed my surgical internship at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.
In 1985, I transferred to the United States Army and worked with Special Forces units until 1988. I began my surgical training at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia. Graduating in 1992, I continued my military career until 2005, when I retired as a Colonel with 25 years of service. The last ten years of active duty I spent at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC where I was the Chief of Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery.
I am a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Although I perform a variety of general surgical and laparoscopic procedures, my primary interest is weight loss surgery, specifically the laparoscopic adjustable gastric band.
