  1. So I have a bit of a qundrey. Im needing to get more Protein in my diet, and the shakes are just not doing it (they make me ill). I haven't had the chance to ask my dietician, but I wanted to see if protein pills work for anyone. If anyone has tired then, any recommendations? Thanks for any thoughts or suggestions!!
  2. I'm about 5 weeks out, and since returning to work a week ago, I find my anxiety have skyrocketed. I find any situation where I'm in public very difficult, and have come to rely on my husband's presence to calm me down... I was a nervous person before, but didn't have the issues I'm having now.. has anyone else had these issues? I'd love some help... ~emily anne
  3. I'm getting anywhere between 45-65 g Protein, which is building up... I drink plenty, but haven't been able to get in the 64oz yet... I'm only 13 days post-op, so I'm still building up to getting all my stuff in... I just thought the lbs would still be falling off! Is it normal to already be gaining lbs this close after surgery??? ~emily anne
  4. I'm about 2 weeks post op, and lost ten lbs my first week... But in weighing in this week, I've gain 4 lbs... I feel like I'm failing... Suggestions or thoughts? ~emily anne

    Anyone Else From Oregon?

I'm in Oregon! Oregon city, specifically... ~emily anne
  6. So I'm at the stage of mushy foods, and am finding a hard time finding food I'll eat. Unfortunately, I'm a pretty picky eater and per the list the surgeon gave me, I don't enjoy many of the foods including: Green Beans Zucchini Carrots (cooked) Sqush Beets Yams/Sweet Potatoes Does anyone have good, healthy ideas for some veggies I would be able to make that allow me to enhance my very DULL diet of mashed potatoes, Soup, and tuna? Additionally, I don't eat the prtoien shakes, per my dietician, as they make me ill.. so I've been getting my protien via milk... I'd love any help as I'm very new to WLS, and want to start off right! ~emily anne ~emily anne

  8. I'm a week post-op today, and hardly have any hunger at all! I found I wasn't getting any food in, so after speaking to my dietician yesterday, we tweaked my post-o diet a bit in order for me to get the Protein I need and get some of my energy back... All in all, chat with your dietician and see if there is something that you can do, safely and with the ok from your dietician, that will make this time a little easier... ~emily anne

    1 Week Post-Op And Scared!

Well, the pain in moreso from the wounds and my 'tummy' still being swollen... Everything seems like its getting stuck, including liquids... I'm taking pain meds (not too often as I'm nervous about forming a habit) pepcid 2x daily, chewable vitamins, and anti nausea when needed.... The protien shakes were making me sick, so after a lengthy discussion with my dietician, she suggested I find my protien elsewhere. So I am drinking 2% milk (skim 4 weeks after surgery), yogurt, and Soups with no less than 13g of protien.... I'm trying to get all my protiens in, but the dietician wants me to focus on hydration right now and in a week or two, it'll be easier to get the correct amount of protiens in... But it feels like nothing will be normal again... :-( ~emily anne
  12. So, I had my gastric sleeve a week ago today, and all the things that I thought would be, are not... The healing is going pretty roughly, food is no longer a priority, and honestly, eating is more a chore now. I just wanted to get some thoughts or advice on how to transition into this new 'normal' more fluidly and less drastically. I feel like my life is at a standstill with how weak I am and how I'm still in a lot of pain. Once I get back to moving and shaking, does anyone know how to make food seem less like a burden, or does that come naturally? I'm just scared with how everything is changing so much and I'm scared I won't be able to keep up... :-(
