I bought some Atkins Frozen meals over the weekend to have something quick to make instead of just grabbing anything..Today I had the Breakfast roll-ups and the Italian Sausage Primavera. They are very good. The roll-ups had four in the box and all I need to eat for lunch was one. I will have 3 more meals out of it.I will also get at least 2 meals out of the sausage dish. I have a few more in the freezer to try. nAnyone else try these? Just thought I would give my thoughts on them. Tina

wow thats fantastic. congrats! -
I went to my PCP yesterday and he took me off my dibetes and high blood pressure meds. I'm thrilled. That was my biggest reason to get surgery. And I'm only down 34 lbs. best decision I ever made.

I was sleeved on 12/21 and I can't seem to eat much. This morning I was barely able to eat half a poached egg. I'm trying very hard to get in my liquids but the Water makes me nauscious (sp.?). Hot tea with lemon goes down pretty well but I can't drink too much tea cause I get kidney stones. I am going to try just hot lemon water next. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions. I can choke down a protien shake every now and then but its tough. Help. tina

All my life when I decided to diet and lose weight I just did it. Now that I am in the middle of my six month pre op phase I can't seem to lose a lb. Last time I dieted I lost 80 lbs in 5 month on low carb. Now I can't do anything. I'm afraid that if I don't lose anything in this six months I won't be able to have the surgery. I think I have an "I better eat this now 'cause I won't be able to eat it later" kind of attitude. Anyone else have this problem and did it affect your surgery date. Is there a minimum amount you must lose to get the surgery? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Omg I Don't Know Whats Going On
tinytears replied to tinytears's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Everybody I havent been here for a while, just a quick peek now and then. A little update, I made it throught my 6 month program and my surgery is scheduled for Dec 21. I originally thought i would see dr boorse, but because of a mixup i ended up with dr harrison. He is really nice and explains anything you want to know. Next week are my pre admission tests. I am nervous and excited all at once. I think my husband is taking it harder than I am. He has this thing about never going out to eat anymore. I keep telling him we will I just wont eat as much. He'll get over it I hope. I guess I won't have to worry about gaining weight over the holidays this year!! hahaha Hope everyone is doing well. Tina -
Anyone From Nepa? Geisinger Or Hazleton..
tinytears replied to marzee0728's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
hi drucella22 I am working on my 5th month in the program at lehigh. My insurance required a six month pre op before surgery. I think Lehigh itself has you go through the program no matter of the insurance. Most of the program is on nutrition and exercise and also mental stability. I have not met the surgeon yet. My appt is in October. The first thing I did was go to a free information seminar. The surgeon that spoke that ***ht was someone else. I choose dr boors because I had other surgery there recently and that doctor recommended him. I am from hazleton and it would be great if u want to get together, let me know. My e-mail is tinytear@ptd.net. Looking forward from hearing from u. -

Yes I am scheduled to see dr boorse. I just finished my 4th month of the 6 month pre op. they are really nice down there. even though it is a little distance it is worth it. -
Oh Boy I had my meeting with the behavioral specialist today and did I blow it. I have had a really bad two weeks and am a little emotional (a lot emotional) right now and did a lot of crying. I think she wants me to go a psyciatrist or something, Sure I'm depressed, what fat person isn't? I'm depressed becaused I'm fat and fat because I'm depressed. Vicious cycle! I sure hope that I didn't mess things up. I have to see her again next month to see how I am doing. Anybody else mess their eval up? Did it postpone ur surgery? Thanks for letting me vent!

Anyone From Nepa? Geisinger Or Hazleton..
tinytears replied to marzee0728's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi I'm also from nepa (Hazleton) and I am going to Lehigh Valley for my 6 mo. now hoping to have my surgery by the end of Oct. My PCP was glad I did not choose Hazleton.Said there has been quite a few problems with them recently. The staff at Lehigh is really great and I recently had other surgery there and the hospital was great, too. I didn't know about the bc/bs change. I have Highmark BS and wonder if they changed too. Unfortunately I already paid for my 6 mo pre op and am half way through. Good luck with whatever u choose. -

Thanks everyone for you replys. I know I have to get my self together and I wil. Hopefully in a year from now I will be in a better place!! Thanks again and good luck to all on you journey. -
I am into my first month of six and I am really struggling with my eating. I don't understand why. I have dieted all my life, but I just cant seem to get a handle on it. I am a very bad emotional eater. Lately, I have been dealing with some major stress in my life so I do what I always did....eat. Has anyone dealt with their emotional eating and maybe have some advice that can help. I really don't want to screw this up the first month.

Boy, when I read your post I thought it was me writing. I just started my 6 month journey and wish it was over. I don't understand why they make someone who has been overweight all their lives go through 6 more months of it. If I didn't have to go to work everyday I would probubly just stay in bed. Depression is setting in. I didn,t know if you showed you ate the wrong way that the insurance would deny you the surgery. I'm in trouble because I'm having a hard time this week. Anyway, just wanted to let you know that you are not alone. Hopefully the next 5 months will fly by.

I was just wondering what made everyone choose the sleeve instead of conventional gastric bypass? I have decided to do the sleeve, too, but when I mentioned it to my gynocologist he suggested I consider conventional bypass. He said the weight loss was quicker and that u lose more. Anyone wish they had gone the other way? And how is the weight coming off? I need to lose about 110 lbs. and would be happy to do it in a year. I have my first physical in a week so I still have time to decide on which surgery to use. I would love to hear your views and experienced. Tina

thank you everyone for your input. I feel that no matter what my gyno said the sleeve is the best for me. The thought of re-arranging my insides just isn't for me. I am so happy I found this site. It has helped me so much in my decision to have this surgery.
