  1. I felt like I was super informed going into the surgery. I just knew this surgery would be the tool I needed to change my life! My life is a lot different now in many good ways since the weight loss. I am married with 1 child and in my late 20's. My heaviest was 272. I lost naturally and went to 230. Then a had a baby and was 244 a year later on the day of surgery. Today I weigh 160 in a size 6. I'm 5'6". My lowest was 155 but only for about 2 weeks. Big boobs and butt... are gone sadly. Lol. Does anyone have any questions? I'm an open book and here to help.
  2. Do not keep a scale in your house!! I weighed myself about once a week when i visited my mom. That's it. It'll drive u crazy. At the beginning I did have stalls. The most important thing I did was not give up. Keep exercising, eating right, and drinking liquids. I celebrated what I had already lost and eventually a few weeks would pass and I would get on the scale and 5 pounds would be gone.
  3. I can eat a whole sandwich, 1 quesidilla, large salads, but if its something dense like steak- 4oz and nothing on the side. When I'm a bad girl I can eat a small plate of Pasta, like chicken alfredo. At the beginning I felt ostracized when I went to dinner with people, now I can sit comfortably. I can eat normal small portions and enjoy most of an entire meal.... one course. The biggest problem is grazing. I have realized that I could probably eat half a pie of pizza in 3 hours so I have to make sure I don't even bring things like that in the house!
  4. Honestly, I lost 90% of my weight in the first 6 months. I don't consider my current weight a stall. I am healthy and happy with my current weight. I know any pound that follows will be with strict diet and exercise. I eat a very bountiful, high Protein homemade salad everyday with minimal dressing for lunch. I try new recipes at night that aim to be 400 cals or less. I use tortillas a lot now... for everything from homemade pizza's to bea n burritos. My capacity is more than I expected. I can eat as much as the average skinny girl.
  5. I kept up with the stages for the first maybe 3 weeks. My nut wasn't too strict. I basically ate soft foods at 4 weeks. But eating wasn't enjoyable for me for about 3 months. Stick with the stages as much as u can to avoid the pain of stretching.

    When can we drink soda

I drink soda... but rarely and MUCH less than I did presleeve. I don't ever tell myself NO any particular food or drink but I do limit my quantity. So far so good. Over a year out and I haven't gained a pound... in fact I'm still losing. Btw I had a half cup of soda today.
  8. Horrible. Plus I'm virtually blind without contacts so I was in a foggy hell. But it got better. I am brutally honest because of you turn out like me don't worry. Everything is normal. Whether you feel tired or horrid as I did, it will pass.

    Under 300 calories?

Maybe people are tired of vsg. Less comments nowadays. But don't worry about ur intake. Eat enough to keep yourself from being lethargic. Your eating will increase.... believe me.
  10. So its been one year. I'm so thankful that I was able to have this surgery! I'm almost in tears thinking about the difference it has made in my life. I am not that woman that lived life and then gained weight. I was the teenager and adult that felt like she was always working backwards. I didn't gain weight... I always had the weight. This surgery gave me a fighting chance. I have a normal size body that I can maintain or destroy.... and I am worki g on the former. I have so much energy and I can get out and live life without my weight holding me back. Losing weight was something I prayed for. My entire teenage years and adult years I was stuck in this body that was unhealthy and at its highest 272 pounds. I walked into surgery a year ago 244 pounds. I never hated my body... in fact I was probably overly confident in my looks. However I knew that I needed this surgery because of vanity, because of health, because I was tired, and because I wanted to live a healthy life. It was a long HARD journey and I am still in a constant battle with food but here I am 158 pounds (everybody thinks I weigh less.) I know some of you are aiming towards 120 pounds at my height of 5'6" but hey, i'm a bodacious, curvaceous, black island girl and besides the extra skin on my belly I'm a goddess! 12. What? That sounds like a boring eating life. Eat a better variety. Give your body some nutrients and stay active. Clean as littlr more, take the stairs, get it yourself. I eat whatever I want... but always keep health in mind. Its worked for me at 11 months out.
  13. I had the kind of hair that people of all cultures jist had to stop and compliment me. It was long thick and curly.... and healthy. My hair now is thin broken, a little shorter and limp. It also is much straighter :-( I can't just jump out the shower anymore. I actually have to wash my hair less and just try not to touch it.... its very tempramental. Lol. Its not falling out anymore but I wish it would return back to what o knee my whole life

    Any post-oper's with toddlers?

I have one and it was hard but I cheated early and I think most of us with toddlers did. I mean I took care of an infant immediately after a c-section.... and physically that was a harder surgery
  16. I was sitting at the table last week with 7 ladies. After being called too skinny I tools them that I was 160 at 5'5" and a half. Suprisingly 3 of the other ladies were withing 2-3 pounds of me and we all looked ao different. My hones protrude and I easily wear a 6 pants and small top and they arw not tight. I say this because another woman who weighed the same as me at mh height I considered overweight and another I thought way boney. BMI is a very loose guide. Find ur own perfect weight. 150-160 is perfect for me. Stop obsessing.
  17. I tried the sex in the air and against the wall.... its overrated. Lol. But to be lifted and carried to the bedroom- now that I love.
  18. I've stretched mine so it can happen. I don't mind though because I like to eat around people without feeling self conscious about only fitting 2 bites. I'm still skinny so I can appreciate a little stretch as long as I am eating healthy foods
