I'm from the grand rapids area. And I believe the group of surgeons are from Grand Health Partners. I know there is Dr. Baker and Dr. Foote and two more I can't remember names to. I am having surgery on the 13 with Dr. Foote and I have been so impressed with all of the Doctors and staff! I highly recommend them!

So I'm scheduled for surgery next Monday and I get a freaking cold! GAH!! Has anyone else gotten a cold this close to D-day? I have my last check in with the doc on Thursday....praying I'm better by then!

My date is May 13th! I go in the morning for my pre op appt.....also find out what all I have to do on my 2 week liquid diet. I'm getting so excited!

I am still pre op, May 13th is my day....I have been researching WLS for the past 3 years and I have been on VST for over a year now and from what I've seen is if you work hard and follow the directions you are given you can losse very close to the same as a person with gastric bipass. I chose the sleeve bc I have 4 kids and want to be able to be a "normal" mom. I feel like a prisoner in my fat body and don't want to be a prisoner in my skinny body! For example, I want to eat a small peice of my kids b-day cake and not get sick bc of dumping syndrome! I am always on the side line and I want to fully participate in life!

My date is May 13th! The wait is killing me! You know....I think your feelings are normal! We've lived life this way for so long that its hard/ scarry to change it. Even though we deep down want to change it! Maybe instead of making your b day about food make it about celebrating your life by pampering yourself....get a mani pedi or your hair done....something to make you feel good! Things like that always make me feel good and Lord knows we are going to feel like crap for awhile! Also, if you didn't already know, there is a FB group for us May sleevers!

When I decided to have wls I found a surgon in my area and went to a free seminar. I went in thinking I wanted the lap band and left wanting the sleeve! After the seminar they helped me know what steps to take next. I never bothered with my pcp or the hospital....just went straight to the sourse. Good luck to you!

Thank you all! It has been a LONG time coming that's for sure! All I have to do now is come up with 750 dollars. 250 for a month of their food and 500 for the surgons fee. I hope I can scrape up the money soon! I'm so sick of waiting!!

After 3 years of waiting I finally got an approval letter today!! I'm so excited! :-)
