Same problem here! Cigna requested a peer to peer review with my PCP so hopefully that will work.

Called Cigna today and bad news! Im denied. They are requesting a peer review with my doctor. Has anyone with the same issue and was approved after the medical peer review?

I also have Cigna and the insurance coordinator at my surgeon told me that cigna still req 6 months diet however i called cigna and they told that as 5/2012 they just req 3 months. She insisted in the 6 months. Any thoughts?? Thanks! Jessie -

Hi! I just had the first visit with Dr. Schweitzer (Johns Hopkins Bariatric Center). He explained the process, risk , pros, act. I will meet with the Nut next month to start all the process. I asked if i need any pre op diet and furtunately Hopkins doesn't required any pre op diet only the day prior to surgery. I did my homework and call cigna for the new requirements and the goods news the change the supervised diet to three months instead of six! Wish me luck! Karen
