    Not recognize yourself? This may sound paranoid and honestly at the time it was, but here it is. I was shopping and kept noticing this person's reflection in windows and the occasional mirror out of the corner of my eye. And finally I thought myself..well I have had enough of this follow me so I whipped around and guess who was there..the reflection of myself . So I had been all freaked out because apparently I was following myself ..didn't even recognized own image...weird I know..but now when people don't recognize I get it. So remember..if you think someone is following you, just turn around it probably is your own shadow! LoL

    FYI, is this from myfitnesspal? Is your goal really 196 carbs daily? I know that I am grabbing just to be eating at times now seemingly wanting to EAT or have something constantly now. At work I can, most of time, curb it and eat Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack but THEN I go home and sit and snack all night. Everyday I tell myself I'm going to stop and "eat clean" but, alas, I do it again!!! Yep, I know it's up to me! I seriously think constantly that I've got to do better so, once again, I've got to try to figure out ME and change ME.
    I think I'll do a modified 5 day re-set and get the sugar cravings under control again. Then I'm going to try something new, alternate fast days, knowing that I can look forward to every other day of "normal" but within reason. First thing I've got to do is get rid of all the junk in my house I've allowed. With two little girls "Grands" here every weekend, I end up with stuff that they want and then I eat!
    I also know I've GOT to make myself exercise which I don't. I've been trying to walk but even that I can talk myself out of. NEVER been big on exercise and I cant see myself changing at 59 1/2 but I CAN increase the amount of days I walk and add some low impact stuff.
    Yes, I know, (truly I do) that it's going to be ultimately my choice. I loved the fact that the sleeve allowed me a new life and ability to lose quickly and safely with little work. NOW 3 years out, its finally hit home that this "tool" is just that. Not a magic bullet. Thanks for listening! You are truly my "go to" place.
    And realistically, when I hear myself saying I need to lose this TWENTY POUNDS! Holy cow, it's 20 POUNDS. Where it was 100 POUNDS! And I think that is the problem - I'm rationalizing that it IS only 20 lbs. But at three years out, unless I change it now, it will be 35 next year!!!
    Again, thanks for being my sounding board and I know we are truly a "family" of sorts. I feel my strength gaining!!!
    This time next week, I'm gonna be better and hopefully, LEANER!

    nanaspez reacted to Holly5.3 in At 7 mos. restricted-endoscopy shows narrowing of 1/2 of sleeve
    I couldn't find my original post about my sleeve's finicky restrictive behavior - causing me to endure another endoscopy to see what's up...so, here goes. The endoscopy showed my stomach does narrow a bit at the lower end. My surgeon didn't see any sign of food being "stuck" or excessive stomach acids which would also evidence food getting lodged in the sleeve. He said that the endoscope may have opened it up a little more, but that it went down fine and is about the circum. of a quarter. He was a little off-putting saying, that the surgery wasn't "magjic" (no duh!) and then he asked, "What do you want to eat?" (In kind of a sarcastic tone, mind you!) and I replied, "Oh, a small salad and some chicken." I don't think he believes that I really cannot eat more than a small amount of raw foods and meats. I'm going to get another food chopper (Slap n Chop) from Pampered Chef and start chopping my food before eating! (Meanwhile, I have lost almost 90 pounds since surgery in October. My doctor likes to hear all the praise and "foo-foo" stuff, but as soon as I expressed concern and had questions about my healing, he kind of changed personalities on me. (Sad...he was my hero!) He said he could "stretch" my sleeve in another 6 weeks if I wanted him to but that "I would gain weight". So....not much left to do but drink my shakes, enjoy my size 12-14 little ole self and stop crying over the burger I'm dying to sink my teeth into! (Just joking-about the crying, not about the wanting a burger!)

    nanaspez reacted to Aries in SO Annoying! Anyone else share my frustration?
    I went out to dinner with my boyfriend today (this is not the frustrating part, lol). He ordered half a dozen garlic rolls smothered in butter, rib rolls, full rack of ribs, and a brownie sundae. Oh, and 4 refills of his coke.
    I had half of a mahi sandwich without the bread and maybe a tablespoon of black Beans.
    Since I was done much earlier than him, I sat there and essentially watched him eat. At one point, just as a morsel of BBQ Sauce started dripping down the side of his mouth, I felt a really strong urge to smack the ribs out of his hand and yell SSSTOOOOPPPPP EATINGGGGGG!!!! I mean, seriously. He INHALES his food. I could swear that sometimes he doesn't even chew it. It's really unattractive to see him eat so much. Does anyone else feel this way? Am I a horrible girlfriend? Lol
    Oh, and as I write this, he just went to the kitchen for a "tiny snack". Smh
    I know he doesn't order so much delicious food on purpose. He's a big guy (6'3" and maybe 220lbs) so I understand he won't be satisfied with a Caesar salad. But c'mon.
    Let me say one more thing: I have no desire to eat any of the stuff that he ordered. I was perfectly happy with my sandwich. but ordering and eating all that food?? Does anybody else get frustrated/annoyed/disgusted when watching people eat unhealthy food? Is it just me?

    I mix Unjury unflavored to my milk and then add my Cereal and i can't taste it. With the strawberry Sorbet from Unjury, that taste great with lemonade. The chicken broth from Unjury is also good I just drink it without adding anything else to it. Tasty and filling I just find I need to add a bit more Water than they suggest. Just make sure the water temp doesn't go over 140, otherwise it is clumpy and yucky!

    Anyone with a BMI of 30 is considered Obese.....if someone's wgt is 165 and 5'2 their BMI is 30. 30 and above is OBESE. If your wgt is 210 and you are 5'10 your BMI is still 30 and they are still OBESE. If someone else's wgt is 250 and hgt is 6'4 they obese with a BMI of 30. No matter how you calculate this a BMI of 30 is OBESE......

    I KNOW!!! And you are wrong...
    I'm sorry, but by definition at a 30 bmi you are considered obese.
    Underweight = <18.5;
    Normal weight = 18.5–24.9;
    Overweight = 25–29.9;
    Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater ...

    *puts English teacher hat on*
    Calibri is a font.
    Caliber is the American English spelling.
    Calibre is the British English spelling (and since they invented the language, I let them spell it as they wish, even with the "u" in "colour" and "favourite", and spelling "theatre" intead of "theater").
    AussieLady meant exactly what she typed, since her screen name shows she's from Oz (-stralia, not where Dorothy went with her ruby slippers).

    Not sure why the location of the surgery was even mentioned since it has nothing to do with the current issues. As for the BMI.. My dr ok'd me for the sleeve when my lapband was removed. My BMi was 20.3 unfortunately .. By the time I got the sleeve my BMI jumped significantly. Anyway.. Who cares what anyone's BMI is? No one knows the story behind everyones choice for being sleeved.
    OP.. You need to have you PCP refer you to a gastronologist or bariatric surgeon.

    I am 7 mos post-op and my goal weight was 150, last week when I weighed myself I was 131. So I would hold off until you are at goal weight and can stay there a couple of weeks. I purchased myself bra's from Victoria Secret's and two weeks later they were too big So I wouldn't go overboard till your able to maintain the weight.
    Good luck

    I was too cheap to buy a goal suit. I went to Macy's and talked to the row of suits which were all too small for me. "I'll be back and one of you mugs will be mine!"
    I went back about a month ago and got 2 suits, only they were farther down the rack toward the smaller sizes than the ones I was talking to.
