My doctor put me on Unsdiol 300mg 2x a day to help prevent the gallstones. Been on it since surgery. Also, I became lactose intolerant, stopped diary but continued with stomach problems, turned out the protein powder I was drinking had milk. Hope you are feeling better soon

I have a very sensitive stomach and I LOVE the Unjury unflavored protein. I ran out and purchased a unflavored protein powder from Whole Foods…YUK!! I can taste it and it is awful. Now I am just waiting for my delivery from Unjury. I ended up being lactose intolerant and the chocolate protein powder I had been drinking had milk! The Strawberry Sorbet is to die for! Mix it with lemonade and it is soooooo refreshing! Good luck

You are not alone! I had remorse for about a week 2 months ago. I am 5 mos post-op. I went into depression and cried all the time. NOW I am happy with the decision, except now I am trying to GAIN weight! I average 600 calories a day and my doctors do no want me to loose anymore weight! This surgery is a roller coaster of emotions, stay strong and know that there are plenty of people here ready to support you! Good luck and hope you are feeling better soon.

The myth that high BMIers lose more quickly
nanaspez replied to TES's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on Oct 30th, 2012 and started out at 34.21BMI. I am now 21.95 bmi. I'm actually below the weight the doctor wanted me to be, he wanted me at 150. I did have problems though, had drug withdrawals, (stopped cold turkey on 27 pills a day), Lupus flare-up then pneumonia! I think everybody is different and everyone's metabolic rate is different. I think it is a myth -

You are just too damn cute!! I think you should tell your BF how you feel, just be honest. You look amazing and no matter what, be proud of yourself for making the decision to "Take care of yourself!" and you're doing a fantastic job! -

RECIPE SHARING ONE MONTH POST OP
nanaspez replied to Plushie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Brown chicken in a skillet than add Campbells Cheddar Cheese soup (condensed) pour over chicken, put top on skillet and cook on low till done. The chicken is moist, which makes it easier to chew and the cheddar cheese is just added flavor and protein! You can add peas or another vegetable -
Everybody is different. Personally I am 4 mos out and maybe I would go now. At 6 weeks I was dead to the world. I do have two autoimmune diseases that probably made a impact on my healing. But, I agree with Laura-Ven and don't let anything get in your way of that surgery! Good luck!

*Rolls eyes* Do I really have to give up Coke?!
nanaspez replied to MK1986's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So thankful you wrote this, I was thinking I was going crazy! I've had 2 swallow tests and a scope down my throat (in the last 8 weeks) and everything was fine. It is so weird how I can have dairy and have NO problems than I have dairy and I am in pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea than constipation! YIKES! -

I was sleeved on Oct 30th and in the past week my hair is coming out ALOT! I have Lupus and when the dr started me on medication that is also used as Chemo for some cancer, I lost a lot of hair. My hair was STRAIGHT! Could not hold a perm! When my hair grew back it grew back CURLY! So my hair looks thicker than it is and I am hoping it stays curly!

any sleevers who are disabled and have fibromyalgia
nanaspez replied to pink grace's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have Lupus, Sjogrens, Osteoarthritis and numerous other health issues. I have been disabled since 2003. I started this journey to get off my 27 meds I took everyday. My surgeon had me stop all meds until he decided differently. I am 4 mos post-op, surgery Oct 30th. Anyways the 1st month was really bad. All my joints ached, I was having AWFUL hot flashes, no energy and just felt like sh*t! Doctors determined that my body was not only going through changes due to the surgery, my body was going through withdrawals of all the medications. 2nd month things seemed better, still having problems with nauseousness and smells. Then the 3rd month I caught the flu, coughing, nauseousness, vomiting and then it turned to pneumonia! I became very weak, not able to eat and hurt all over. Four weeks of not being able to eat really took a toll on me. I became emotional and even questioned if I did the right thing by having this surgery. This past couple of days I can truly say I turned the corner and things look so much brighter. My bones still ache but I'm able to eat! Work closely with your rheumy on how to taper off your meds. I did not do that and now I think that 1st month may not have been that bad. I now only take 11 meds a day and 4 of those I should be off in 2 months! Good-Luck -
Great job, Congrats!

Congratulations! Hope you have a speedy recovery! -
I had to omit the milk and made the protein shakes with water. My nauseousness continued until last week. The past month I was sick with the flu that turned into pneumonia. So not sure if the last month nauseousness was from being sick or because of my sleeve. Hopefully you will get over this soon.
