Tight sleeve in the morning?
nanaspez replied to sr910's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also have that problem. I thought I was crazy, so now I am glad to find out I am not! It is the weirdest feeling. Being lactose intolerant I do not do yogurt but if I could that would be my breakfast! I can not tolerate protein drinks in the morning as well. Hopefully this won't last too long! -
SLOW RECOVERY?
nanaspez replied to bandtovsgdone52813's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Glad you called the doctors office! I am 7 months post op and I still do not have the energy I use to have. I also take B12 shots once a month at my doctors office You have to remember every body is different, everyone loses at THEIR own rate. Don't beat yourself up, don't look at other people's timelines. You just had major surgery you are doing great! -
Sleeved on Oct 30, 2012. Been on maintenance since last month and TRYING not to loose weight. Kinda hard because I struggle to get 1000 in! Would like to gain 10 lbs (Doctors orders!)

I am 7 mos post op and my hair loss has slowed WAY DOWN. I believe I started losing about 4 mos out. My hair is definetly thin on top but not bad at all. I have been taking Folic Acid as a prescription for 15 years and I added a biotin pill as well. I had a rough couple of months so I did not even get close to meeting my protein goal.

2-3 post opers... ? or older
nanaspez replied to jmarie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At the beginning a lot of people here on the forum have mentioned using a sippy cup. I had a hard time at first and survived on ice chips. It does get easier, I am 7 mos out and I can actually have a normal gulp. Not big long gulps! -

SO Annoying! Anyone else share my frustration?
nanaspez replied to Aries's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So glad for this post! I have been feeling the same way! These past 2 weekends has been nothing but BBQ's and it is amazing how many people SHOVE food in their mouths! Then to see them say "I am so full" but they go back for more or for dessert! My oldest son these past 11 years has changed his eating habits and eats very well. My grandson who is 10 has only been to fast food restaurants a handful of times. No microwaving, only organic…ect. It is funny how as humans we are all so different! -

I am 7 mos out and I have to force and remind myself to eat, still! If I didn't I could go all day without eating and that is not good!

sick three weeks after
nanaspez replied to colombiany's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had vomiting and diarrhea due to becoming lactose intolerant after the surgery. Check your Protein shake it may contain milk as well. I now stay away from diary unless it is lactose free. I did not have a pain on the right so I can not address that Hope you feel better soon, if this continues you should call your doctor. Good luck -

Who has had surgery at Stanford? Dr Rivas?
nanaspez replied to AJnSJ's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks Laura! I had my surgery at Stanford with Dr. Morton. Everyone is wonderful there. You will be in good hands! You can pm me if you need any questioned answered. -
I am 7 mos post-op and my goal weight was 150, last week when I weighed myself I was 131. So I would hold off until you are at goal weight and can stay there a couple of weeks. I purchased myself bra's from Victoria Secret's and two weeks later they were too big So I wouldn't go overboard till your able to maintain the weight. Good luck

I am 7 mos post op and was sick for the first 3- 4 months. My smell and taste buds were so far out NOTHING tasted good and smells just made me sick. I started out with a BMI of 35 and by 3 months I was at goal. Not because I did a fantastic job of exercising and eating, but because I could not eat, had no energy and just felt like shi*! I am now 131 and would love to get to 145. I'm still having a hard time getting 1000 calories in. Everyday does get BETTER! Since you have already checked with your doctor and he said all is well, then what I had to do was suck on ice chips. My doctor also told me about a whey liquid Protein at walmart that is 42grams of protein. Had I had this at the beginning I would have diluted it in Water and made ice chips out of it. I would try this so you can get your water and protein in at the same time. Hope you get better soon

12 week Transformation challenge for vets
nanaspez replied to Fiddleman's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I would love to join but I need to gain weight. I see you gained 10 lbs, how does one do that in a healthy way? At 6 mos I was on maintenance and I am struggling to get in 1000 calories a day. I've only been doing spot training, arms, stomach and thighs. I can eat 3 oz of fish or chicken and 1/2 cup quinoa. I am also lactose intolerant (after the surgery) so I have a hard time thinking of good high protien food that has lots of calories! Any suggestions? Also is it too late to join? -
Pain in center of chest after drinking.
nanaspez replied to Sleevedmedic's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You might be drinking too fast, I know sometimes I do, then I get that pain. Maybe gas.. using GasX and walk as much as I can. Hope it gets better soon
