I Know that hair loss was part of the deal but this is CRAZY!!! I'm considering getting a wig. The only good thing is it only takes me 15 minutes to dry my hair and style it now' date=' it used to take me double the time which means I probably lost half of it. Ugh! PLEASE tell me it WILL come back.[/quote']Update! I am now the proud owner of 3 wigs! This is fun!

I have lost SO much hair since my surgery in April. About a month ago (6 months post op) I started researching wigs. I now own 3 of them and I love them! My hair is starting to come back now, actually this weekend I will be getting a pixie cut to even it out. In the mean time I will be rocking the wigs. I am attaching 2 of the wig pics. Good luck!!!

Hello there April 2012 sleevers. I was sleeved on 4/4/2012 started out at 263, as of last week I am at 197. Good news is I hit onederlland. Bad news is I have been at that weight since sept 4th! That's one LONG stall! I hate it. Don't get me wrong I'm feeling great and am loving the shopping in the misses section. I love it when I reach for the XL and have to put it back to get the L, it's just my surgeon at my 5 months post op appointment said I can get to 150lb and that stupid scale won't move! Can it be 65lbs lost is all I can loose?

I had my surgery on 4/4/2012. So let me start by saying EVERYONE IS UNIQUE. Right after surgery I was out of it on morphine and slept most of the time. The next day was bad. I was in pain and nausea set in because of the morphine. I had to do the swallow test and that was pretty bad too. All those feelings were the next day after surgery. That evening I felt much better watched TV in my hospital room and the nausea went away. The next day I felt even better now that I was off the morphine the nausea was gone and I had some apple juice. I ended up staying 2 nights before going home. No complications. Now about the pain, feels like I did some serious stomach exercise. First week energy wise... I took 2 hour naps EVERYDAY I had a friend stay with me that first week and on day 9 we went out to SAMs club and walked around for an hour and a half! I was so tired on the way back home I swore I was going right to bed for a nap but when I got home I felt so full of energy it surprised me. My friend went home that weekend and I started feeling better. By day 14 I was out and Around, cooking And going up and down stairs. If your hubby will be with you for the first week you will be fine. Don't do anything for a week except for drink your protien and Water and nap. In 2 weeks you will turn that corner and feel great. I am about 3 months out now. I feel normal like nothing happened. I am down a little over 50LBS this weekend I crosses over to regular misses sizes and I have so much energy! Good luck to you and I wish you a quick recovery.

I'm 7 weeks out. The pain is Diffrent for everyone. I had my gall bladder out August 2011 and VSG ln April 2012. Gall bladder hurt a lot more and recovery was much slower. As far as pain from VSG I had pain the first week and was on doctor's prescribed pain meds and slept all the time. Week 2 I had pain but did not need the pain meds anymore, by end of week 2 I was almost normal. Went out shopping etc. tired, by the end of the day but nothing terrible. week 3 feeling great resuming all normal activities. Week 4 I went back to work, I had pain that week. Doctor said I "popped a suture" took Tylenol pain went away 2 days later. Now 7 weeks out, I feel like I had nothing done except for I lost 40 pounds and went from a size 20-22 to a 14-16.....NO regrets, I'd do it again in a heart beat.

So I'm about 8 weeks out and desperately "shopping" in my closet for the smallest items. About 2 years ago my hubby shrunk my favorite summer sweater by washing it and putting it in the dryer when it clearly stated DRY CLEAN ONLY. Because I loved it so much I couldn't bring myself to throw it out. Today I found it at the bottom of a pile of "will never wear again" clothes. To my surprise IT FIT ME PEEFECTLY!!!
Had to share :-) enjoy your weekend everyone I sure am!

Going back to work for me after 4 weeks out I had pains too I called my doctor and they told me it was sutures melting inside and to just take Advil or Tylenol I took 2 doses and the pain was gone.

I seem to be eating lots of meats. I miss veggies. Frozen yogurt is easy going down and high in protien. Sliders will just have to take will power. If I allow myself I can eat an entire piece of cake with a whipped cream frosting.

My doctor wanted me to get protien from
food rather than supplements here is what I do, I experimented and found that
1. Beef Jerky, costco thick cut Kirkland brand is soft and easy to eat. 1 oz has 9 grams of protien and 60 calories that's about 2 pieces.
2. Premier Protein shakes 11 oz 1 gram of sugar and 30 grams of protien. Sams club and costco carries it.
3. Smoked salmon 2 oz 15 grams of protien.
4. Baby bel light cheese 50 calories and 6 grams of protien.
I like these items and eat them daily because it's a lot of protien for a little bit of food. Good luck!!

I am 6 weeks out. I stop when I start to get that pressure feeling. If I sit there, I nibble kind of like before surgery and we would "pick cause its there" kind if thing, bad idea cause I then get so full from those tiny little bits I get sick. Now I eat 25% of what I used to eat chew chew chew then swallow usually full in 4 to 5 bites. Good luck!

Hang in there. I didn't feel better till about a week later. At 2 weeks i was out and about. Find a comfy place and just stay there. Everyday it gets better. Good luck!

I got my sleeve on April 4. So far down 35 pounds from my heaviest of 263...yay!!!! Went back to work on May 7th. My work requires me to travel EVERY week. So I live in a hotel Mon-Fri. I am SO afraid to fall back into the bad eating cycle because I am eating out every meal. I am eating smaller portions but I feel bloated and slow 2 weeks into this routine. HELP any suggestions on how to handle this?
Thanks all

Pain got so bad today after lunch so I called my doc. Nurse said it was common to have this pain at 4 to 5 weeks. Sutures are stretching and when I eat my tummy expands so it pugged against them.
