Actually, it doesn't mean you can't have bread anymore. I have great restriction and still eat things like bread, rice, and Pasta daily. I just take very small bites, chew it until mush, and pause between bites.
With that said, I don't attempt bread in the mornings. I am way too tight when I first wake up. However by lunch time I am fine to eat whatever I want.
Good Luck!

I was wondering if you had visited any old favorite resturants (sit down or fast food) since being banded? I know for some of us that type of food got us to a bad/unhealthy point but now that we know what we can eat and what not to eat we can do it!
I love Chickfila and I hope someday I can return and have a wrap or grilled nuggets
or
my favorite mexican food resturant with my family and have 1 enchilada (granted I can handle tortillas or not :/ )
right now I am mourning food and having BIG TIME withdrawals, this has been the hardest thing I have ever done but I did it for my health and my neice!!!!

All these examples are wonderful and have opened my eyes to a variety of things...

the shoulder pain/gas pain is what got me, but lots of walking helped!!!!

It has to become mind over matter. I know how you're feeling. By the end anything liquid was just terrible to drink down. Seven more days and then you can move on. Please don't move on to anything more solid though as your stomach is healing and you don't want to chance hurting yourself by eating solids too quickly. Try changing flavors up and keep going. It will SO be worth it in the end!! Good luck!
On the liquid stage what exactly would this be???

I am 7 days post-op and hungry. I am on the full liquid stage and its hard because I am so finicky. I have a hard time with textures so whats on the meal plan is not to my liking. for instance: Jello, pudding, cream of wheat, cream of rice.... and I am so sick of carnation instant Breakfast just thinking about it gags me.
I have been eating creamy potato Soup ( with no chunks) but even that is getting old and I have 7 more days of this stage.
what am I going to do? please help!!!

I will be experiencing my first holiday tomorrow. The hardest part is going to be all the food my dad is cooking. I am still on the full liquid stage and even watching my dad get the meat prepared has been so hard.
I know I did this for my health and my future but I'm having those thoughts of why did I do this??? Hopefully I can get through it ok and keep my head straight and towards my goal.
Happy 4th everyone!!!

I am on the full liquid stage and I was wondering what kind of creamy Soups you ate? I'm getting to the point where I'm hungry and miserable.
If you could leave any tips, recipes, advice I would greatly appreciate it!!!
Oh and some words of encouragement. I was just banded and have had some thoughts on why did I do this ( because of the pain .... I really am glad I did it ) hopefully in the days to come I will start to feel better
---- thanks Allison

I am only 4 days post op and I feel really queezy and nauseas... Is this normal? I'm freaking out a little as to why I feel like this. I don't want to eat or drink.... Hopefully this feeling will go away

I was recently banded and I am so scared of getting "stuck"... What does this feel like and how will I know if it is happening???
-
ok good!!!

I have always been a side or a stomach sleeper. Will I ever lay like that again or will it hurt? ( this is of course after surgery! )

23 banded 6/28!!!!!

Mine was 11 days and I lost 11lbs... It was so hard but I just kept my mind on my goal and what was ahead of me!!!!!
-
It was very hard for me too... I just had to focus on why I was doing it and that I was doing it for me and my health. I chewed a lot of sugar free gum, which helped tremendously!

I have been on my pre op diet for a week and a half now ( surgery is tomorrow 6/28 ) and I am craving fruit and green beans!! I have never been a veggie girl but was so addicted to sugar :/
Now I can't wait to get to the stage where I can have fruits and veggies. I haven't even had the surgery but the band is doing wonderful things for me!
-
It was super hard. But I knew I had to do it in order for the surgery to go on. Looking ahead at the future was a huge motivation because after the surgery I knew I would be on a road to success!

Sorry Alli - it's the simple carbs in the potato that isn't good for us. All of the potatoes you listed would be 'bad' but you can do sweet potatoes... I know' date=' not the same [/quote']Oh man lol! I guess every now and then potatoes would be ok...

SUGAR is my downfall and is what got me overweight in the first place. Someday in moderation I hope to have my beloved chocolate milk again and maybe a Reeses Peanut Butter cup!!!!!!!!!!
