Verifying Mexico Doctors....
cmeless replied to Sarah35's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I believe all the doctors have the certifications up on their website or they would provide them for u if u asked. This is cmeless's wife posting as he is sleeping after sleeve surgery yesterday- we r here I'n Mexicali with dr aceeves and I really cannot say enough about the quality of care or the hospital we r in. I personally had a lap band with the Lopez corvalla in tj @ hospital Angeles approx 6 years ago ( it slipped and I had it removed at the same place with same surgeon approx 2 years later) quality of care and hospital were outstanding there as well- I also had the sleeve in Jan of 2010 with dr almanza at the hospital Jerusalem - ( I would not recommend going there however) I guess my point is that even if the credentials are there it's best to speak with several previous patients as to the quality of care and overall experience with each surgeon. Best of luck in ur decision! -
Wrapping My Mind Around The Two-Surgery Thing...
cmeless replied to cookies's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi cookie- I am on my husbands profile as he is sleeping recovering from sleeve surgery yesterday- I had the band and it slipped and I had to have it removed this was about 5 years ago and then I had the sleeve done a couple if years after that- I just wanted to say that recovery after the band removal was a piece of cake - no restrictions on diet whatsoever I think clear liquids while in the hospital but that was it - hopefully everything works out and u can have the sleeve at the same time ur failed band is removed though! -
Hi honeybee- My husband was sleeved yesterday as well - and we r in hospital too tull Saturday- he had a rough night too dry heaves all night - he is resting now but the plan is to shower and start walking when he wakes- he doesn't seem to have any other pain from gas (which was what I was worried about) I think and the doctors agree that it's just a reaction to the anesthesia? Wishing u a brighter day today- hang In there it does get better (I was sleeved 2 years ago and I too had issue with the nausea the day after surgery) Sending a prayer up for u!

Hi everyone! This is his wife again - he had a rough night - was up every hour or so with dry heaves! The docs say it was due to the anesthesia- he is resting now- and the plan is to shower and start walking In a couple of hours when he wakes. I want to say that the doctors and really ALL the staff here has been absolutely wonderful! The hospital is immaculate and everyone sooooo attentive! Dr. Aceeves and Dr. Campos are professional yet personable too. I really just cannot say enough about how well my husband has been treated. Thank u all for ur support encouragement and prayers! Will update more later! :-)

My name is Hutch - I have a tentative date of May 9th with Dr Aceeves in Mexi -Cali I am a truck driver and struggle with weight loss so I have made the decision to be sleeved. I am nervous but not scared. I have been 100 lbs overweight for the last 10 years and I have tried every diet imaginable - and they work for a minute and then fail. I have no one to blame but myself. I have diabetes, sleep apnea, asthma and planter faciatias in my feet which causes me alot of pain. I hope and pray that after the surgery with time these conditions that I mention will go away. I recently got married to a beautiful woman that was sleeved in Janurary,2010- and when she said that I needed to get a passport I thought she was excited about going on vacation but little did I know she had other plans - I am happy though because I feel that this is the best decision for me and for us to live a long and healthy life together. If you all will join me in my upcoming journey I would greatly appreciate all of ur help and support. Thank you and God bless, Hutch

I cannot wait to start my new healthy life!! Don't let a bunch of insensitive doctors sway the decision u have made to give ur self the best gift possible. Ur life! Big Hug!
