Four years ago today we launched The Giant. Can't believe it's been that long already. The Eagle turns four next month. Thanks to everyone who tunes us in everyday. ( For those of you counting, that's about 9360 newscasts I've read - about 780 hours worth. That's more than 32 entire days just reading news!)

Police now say it was the body of an adult female found last night in a hockey bag in the Mira River. An autopsy is scheduled in Halifax.

I'm in Halifax - just paid 50, was taken up to a room, and told to take my clothes off. Ahhhh Halifax. Some things never change!

I'd like to start this morning over if I could. Tried to eat an orange for the first time since surgery and it got "stuck" which a scary experience that feels suspiciously like a heart attack. Going to wait a few more weeks before I try any other raw fruits or vegetables.

I just got pissed at MyFitnessPal because all of my numbers were off for today and I couldn't figure it out. After careful review I made a small correction. I did not, in fact, eat ten eggs for breakfast.

Woke up with an incredible headache possibly induced by aspartame. I can handle one crystal light a day. Why did I drink a second one last night? Bailing on The Early Show to try to sleep this off!

Things I learned at the gym today: I have the shoulders of a newborn baby and showering is so much easier when you remember a towel (as I did today!)

Had my first workout with Laura Boudreau today and she didn't even make me cry (yet!). Things I've learned so far: I have the posture of 95 year old man, and if I'm not reminded to breathe I will apparently forget! Back at 'er tomorrow!

Did ya ever take your sweater off and have a wooly stick to your forehead and then when you look in the mirror you think the wooly is a bug and you freak out? No?. Me either. Also, unrelated, does anyone know how to keep a black eye from swelling?

8 inches in 8 weeks! Just bought a new pair of dress pants with a 44" waist. Two days before I started the weight loss challenge I bought a pair of 52s - my biggest ever. I may burn those tonight. They are never going on this body again.

So Xstrata is looking to sell their 75% interest in the Donkin Mine Project. Erdene, of Dartmouth, holds the other 25% and say a new buyer could be found and the 2014 timeline kept, but this raises a lot of questions about viability.

I used to think people who compared working out to having sex were crazy but it turns out they're right. I end up sweaty and crying at the end of both, and I often do it alone to avoid embarrassment.

After spending an awesome afternoon in Baddeck I hit up a grocery store, came home, and made BBQ Pita Sliders, an Eggplant Lasagna, and got pork chops in the slow cooker. Freezing meals for the week is the way to go. Keeps me on track. And it's not like I had anything better to do on a Saturday night. lol

Regional Police are investigating two incidents of drivers trying to lure young children into their vehicles over the past few days. The first luring attempt was made on a 9-year old boy in Reserve Mines on Sunday. The second attempt occured on Tuesday night in Glace Bay. Police patrols have not been able to locate the vehicle so far and are asking anyone with information on the individuals or black Ford Ranger in question to contact them at 563-5151.
