    Lapband must haves

I have the magic bullet and I use it everyday but i would think any brands of this type would do the same job. What i like is the fact that it is single serving. good luck

How much was your 1st fill

I got my first fill yesterday with the Realize band and it was 3cc's. I feel great and have not had any problems. My surgery was 4/28/08.
  3. I don't know about the different types of bands but I have the Realize band and it has been great so far. I was uncomfortable the day of surgery and the day after but by the third day everything was great. Two of us were my Dr's first patients to receive the realize. The port is more toward the front of my body and I never had any problem sleeping.( I had read that with the port on the side sleeping was uncomfortable). I was banded 4/28/08 and I have lost 20.8 lbs. and I feel wonderful. My first fill is next week and I am so excited. Good Luck with whicever one you choose.
  4. I was banded 4/28/08 with the Realize Band and so far it has been the best experience. I had very little discomfort in the hospital and none since I've been home. I am back to work and having no problems. I'm with the rest that my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. Good Luck!
  5. thanks for the tip, I have been just having chicken and vege broth and it is boring, I am not fond of cream soups but do love tomato, I will get some tomorrow. Thanks again.
  6. I too was banded last Monday and I find that if I look at my Protein shake for my three main meals and everything else as extra it doesn't seem as bad. I use unjury chocolate ( I have tried the vanilla but didn't like it as much) and even after a week they are still delish! I go in for my 1st followup visit on Friday and then I think I will move to pureed. Please don't give up, you have a goal in mind and that's what's most important. Feel free to write, maybe between us we can change your thinking to seem full. Good luck
  7. Healthy is what I want too. My Dr. just has me on phase 1 of South Beach and after Breakfast nothing but liquids til midnight and then nothing. Good Luck to all and I will be back on ASAP

    April 28th is the Day!

Hey, I'm on the 28th also, went for my final weigh today and got my final instructions. Now I have to go on phase I of south beach for the rest of the week. My emotions are in high gear. I have been through the process before and had the surgery cancelled at the last minute because on lung problems and of course I want to be safe than sorry but I also want a chance at a healthier life. Good luck to everyone!
  9. Yes, I'm on the 28th too and nervous and excited together. I have been reading as much as I can but never seems enough. Good Luck!
  10. I am so glad that you are doing so well. I am being banded on 4/28 with the Realize band and it was great to hear such a positive experience.
  11. I was scheduled to get banded tomorrow 6/25 and was really ready when I got a call that something was wrong with my chest xray, after we cleared that up my primary Dr. wanted to do one last check of my oxygen level- that's where we hit the snag, as soon as I exert any exercise it drops 15 pts and he said they can't operate. I feel the best I have in a while, I am down 20lbs and walking more than ever. Now I have to take more tests and I am so scared that I won't be able to get the surgery. I am really bummed out!

    Sugery cancelled- help!!

I guess I just need support, I am so discourgaged.
  13. Hi! I'm heading on 60 in September and today had my last visit with the Dr. before surgery Monday 6/25. I haven't been nevous until today, now it really seems like reality. I was worried that I had gained and to my surprise I was down another 6 1/2 lbs. My first granchile(boy) arrived last week and I want to be around to see him grow up so this is so important to me. Pre-op diet is phase one of south beach but at this point I think I can handle anything that will get me to my goal. You are only as young as you feel and I want to feel the best I can.

  15. Hi everyone, this is my first post but I have been reading seriously for about a year and not so seriously for about three. It took me a long time to decide that this is the right thing to do and I have had everything done so now it's time to meet the Dr. formally and hopefully get a date. I have been moved up twice and tomorrow is the day. Nervous isn't even close but I'm entering the last stage of my life and I want to do it thin. I'm going to be 60 this year and about to have my first grandchild and I want to be around to enjoy all the aspects of being a senior citizen. Kind thoughts would be appreciated.
