Am due for surgery after 7 hours it is 3:20 am here n Australia. Couldn't get any sleep, very worried stressed, had a big fight with my husband, I am staying alone n the hotel and will go to the op by myself tomorrow. Left our daughter with him as well for her school. Missing her so much. I was expecting that she will b with me and will first face I see when I open my eyes. I didn't expect to be that Lonly in this big day. I am sorry for my depressive talking, but I am really very down and this place is only one I can find ppl to share. Plz pray for me that I can go throw this tough time and the op go well. I want to see my daughter again.

Hi I hope everything is going well with u just keep urself positive it is so important for the healing and reaching ur goal. I am sure ur husband is so worried it is a big operation, u just need understand his feelings, believe me men are not as strong emotionally as we r, but don't let that stoping u. Of course they advised u about having the Protein shakes and Soup . I have tried all shakes in the market the best I found for myself was kick start that the one they advice me to have. Hi stardust I am in QLD I had my surgery last year with dr Greg Nolan he was fantastic. It wasn't easy to have the surgery my husband was completely against it and didn't offer me any support. He didn't even call or visited me in the 4 days I spent in the hospital. He didn't even picked me up. I have to arrange for a cap to back home which is 100 km away from the hospital. But I didn't care about all of that I knew that I had to do it for myself and my daughter. I can assure u that I didn't have any complications at all even my health was very down all my tests wasn't good and my ECG wasn't normal, but all gone through fantastic. I was able to drive straight away after I back home, I back to work a week after. Just think about urself first keep going. If u need anything about the diet etc just text me. Hi everybody, It is now 11 months since I had my sleeve. I have lost 30 kg wow. I am no longer taking diabetes tablets anymore just diet control. I am feeling great I down from size 20 to 14. I wish to lose 5 more kgs if I could. I was 96 kg I am now 66 kg Good luck for everybody. I am so happy about this surgery it is completely changed my life

I sleeved on 15th of may. Lost 5 kg per op and 13 post op total 18 kg. half the way of my gall. Couldn't eat much still mainly on shakes and purée food. But my overall health is well. Just like to share with everyone my trip. I am so proud of myself. Yay

Hi likasulema Thanks for ur support And I am still can't eat solid food except porridge I am trying everyday one new food but my stomach can't hold it and I vomit probably my stomach still inflamed as I am diabetic the healing might take longer, even my diabetes is absolutely better than before. As well from my little experience having 3 shakes wich make 60 g protein with little two to three meal per day will help lose more weight. The most thing I am really happy with is my sugar craving disappear completely. Good luck for everybody.

Had the surgery on Tuesday. The dr found as well a massive huge hernia as he described it. It is been fixed as well. The surgery took longer time coz of the hernia, as well as it took me as they said 5 hours to back from the anaesthesia. Other than that everything is going ok. I am on the liquid diet, I am feeling full with the 30 ml per hour. The surgin thinks I am doing great and the diatition said I am doing well. I will start the shake in Friday. The physiotherapist took me for a long walk all going great. I think everything is fine. Please don't stop praying for me

Hi I am due on 15th, but I am n Australia. I suppose to stay for 3 days post op, but I am diabetic and did have a kind of cardiovascular problem, I think these three days is essential for the dr to make sure that everything is going well for me. As ur doctor choose for u only one day stay, ur health might b stable and he thinks that u don't need longer medical attention post op. u shouldn't be worry if ur health post opneeds longer stay make sure that ur dr will never discharge u. By the way shorten ur stay in the hospital if don't need too is much better as this will decrease the risk of getting the hospital acquire infection. So just b positive and don't hesitate to discuss any of ur concerns with ur dr, that is ur health and ur right to feel safe and comfy Good luck Amany

Hi all I am due for the surgery on 15/05, need help with some things, I am a smoker should stop smoking within days, couldn't really imagine how will I do it. I am smoking 30-40 cig / day. Can I use the nicotine Patches or electronic cig instead, I am already panic and smoking is the only thing giving me relief but don't want to waste my journey coz of cig. Plz any help what to do. Thanks for everyone posted to support me. I am using now the nicotine patches and the e cig as well when I am feel need the hand mouth craving. The doctor recommended as well valium twice a day to calm me down as I had to stop my antidepressant coz some side effects, which make hard to quite, as well as he gave me sleeping tablets as I used to wake up at night to smoke. It seems that this combinations working out. I can't say that it is easy I am struggling, but the doctor said within 2 weeks I will not need the Valium or the sleeping tablets and the carving will get better. I am doing all I can do. I added as well drinking lots if water and chammomile, I keeping myself busy and I go for a walk and joined a quit smoking support group. I hope I can do it not only for the op but I aim that will be for ever. Plz keep praying for me. Thanks again Amany

Hi tyvette04, Good luck for ur surgery, I know how u feeling mine is due on 15th of May. By time I start get nervous as well especially when u have to follow all the advices u have been given about the food, ur medication, stopping alcohol and cig. Very Hard to cope, plus preparing itself and ur family needs as well. But I found that u can make thing easier by having a check list of everything u need and try to follow and cross out what u did and plan for the rest. As well I tried to drink cammomile and using the lavender oil plus some relaxation technics. They all plus many other things u can use to keep u positive. Also keep praying that keep u positive as well. When u feel really down just keep thinking about the new figure u well have and the new you u well b, just imagine ur new life and how happy and positive it will b when u not struggling again to find a dress for a party can fit u. I wish u best of luck and remember we all here for u, supportive and will keep praying for u Keep us updated with ur progress

Hi there, I am Australian as well. Live in QLD. Due on 15th in almanda private hospital in Gold Coast with dr Nolan. Tough time to go through preparing for surgery. I am going for sleeve, that was my choice. I didn't want to go for a band. Hope every thing is going fine with everybody. Great decision to take to change our life and gain ourselves back again. Good luck my surgery is 15 th of may. I was really lucky didn't go through any problem or waiting to be scheduled for the surgery as my BMI is 42 plus couple of health problems diabetics lower back pain, cholesterol, heel spur and great risk of cardio vascular disease so the surgeon agree to proceed straight away and said I am an excellent candidate to it. But whether or not we reach to the surgery easy or took long time it is really worth to fight for it. It is long journey with our big bodies who was stoping us of lots of life enjoyment. I really have strong will to quiet as I am diabetic and my dad died heart clot was 56 y.o( he never smoked or drink) but diabetic as well with strong family history of cardiovascular disease. Me as well has High cholesterol. I have a 6 years old daughter which I want to live longer to see her brawn up. I will think about the hypnosis, but I think I might need more stronger power so God is only one who can do this and give me the strength, so plz mention me in ur praying and I will start pray as well and I am sure God will hear us for the sack my little daughter. Hi. I think there is nothing wrong of doing the surgery in Mexico as long as ur dr has good experience but I agree with American dr that ur need to have a follow up and revision, wherever u feel comfy to have ur review it doesn't really matter just choose the one which more easy and cheaper for u. Don't be panic about what the dr said it is a pre judge. There are bad stories about surgery oversease and lots of success stories as well the thing is they only focus on what is bad so make them more bigger than how it should be. I my opinion lest in to everybody then u the one to take the decision then don't look backward. Good luck u did will nothing bad will happen don't make the worries stop ur journey.
