Chia seeds. So you hear about them here a lot especially if you have constipation. So I have hemmed hawed on get them. They aren't attractive and really I wasn't sure I wanted black specks floating in my shake. But...after trying them...I have to say I am enjoying them..to me it's the texture they give to the shake..I like it! And the add benefit of helping with constipation is an added bonus plus omega 3s never hurt. So for those of you who have chatted with me about the chia seeds, I humbly bow to your superior knowledge of the product and say.."thank you for putting up with the doubting Thomas while she made up her mind"! I am Piplula and I like Chia seeds.

I got mine at Whole Foods.

I have heard it can help symptoms of PcoS...but it won't get rid of it. Having my hysterectomy "got rid" of it because the disease organ was removed. I also had a severe case of endometriosis which is different from PCOS which is is why I had the uterus removed. So to get this surgery to reverse PCOS...it may not work for you. There are very thin women who have PCOS. I would rethink this if that was the only reason you are thinking about getting the sleeve.

My shake wasn't in the frig. My was left out at room temp and I drank it at room temp. I enjoyed it! I think Butta likes his drinks cold.

Surgical glue allergic reaction

That needs to be seen about immediately! You may need to see a wound specialist. My mom had a breast biopsy and her wound was deeper than once thought. You definitely need that looked after! -

Can Blood Work And An Ekg You Had Performed A Few Months Ago Be Used In The Pre Op Testing?
Piplula replied to Jenny12's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it depends on the facility you are going to. My doctor took a cardiology report that was 1 year old. -
Was Your Gerd/barrett's Resolved (Cured) Post Op?
Piplula replied to NurseMom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Unfortunately my GERD is worse after the surgery. However, I take my PPI daily (Dexilant 60 mg/day) and my symptoms are managed. If I miss a dose though, I know it! Wish I could give you a better report, but there it is. -
Have you though about self pay? There are threads here that talk about Mexican doctors that do a great job.

Ok..for me this was a very cool NSV. So I was helping my hubby with outside lights for Christmas on the house...up and down all day..in and out of the attic I went and before long..all the lights were up and everything looked great..as my hubby and I were chatting in bed after a long days work...I realized..man I got up in the attic...like 10 xs and not once did I stop to think....I have to rest a second..I am out of breath....is this ladder going to hold me..oooopppsss..turn sideways because your fat behind won't fit in the square hole in the ceiling...get your balance..don't fall..you can't lift that box and go down the ladder at the same time because you can't fit....nope..none of that crossed my mind..because I could do all of that without thought..in fact..I went up in the attic just because I damn well could...stood up and about wept because it has been years since I could do that...just go up there because I could..thank you sleeve..you are a life changer!

Piplula replied to ebthompson2010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
1) I confess that I do sneak junk food occasionally..not every day or every week..not sure it's sneaking though if you blatantly do it in front of people...and then feel guilty even though I continue to lose. 2) I confess I want to slap the hell out of people who say should you be eating that? Yes..I can eat a can of tuna..it's healthy fats and good protein..shut up..I have lost 118# pounds ..I think I know what I am doing. 3) I confess I would like to violently harm uninformed people who look at me and tell me I took the easy way out....REALLY??? Why don't you go get it done and see if its easy? Sigh..since I like to sleep at night..no one will be harmed. 4) I confess I used to think exercise was the equivalent of torture..but not so much anymore.. 5) I confess that I used to care about sagging skin, but now I feel so good...I really don't give a dookey donk about it...I have some...I'll have the excess removed when it's time a couple of years post op. -
LMAO..I can't say that I have experienced incarceration..although I have worked beside people who were....

Smokers Question....
Piplula replied to jennaayyy03's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It gets easier! I smoked a pack a day for 11 years and I quit in 99' after 2 bouts with pneumonia. Best decision I ever made. Yes..I miss it. Yes ..nothing smells better than that first puff of smoke...but I have never looked back ..crap who can afford that habit anymore anyway!!! My brand is $6 a pack + tax now! Don't do it! You are stronger than that craving you are having! It's so hard in the beginning. I used to "smoke" straws I cut down to cigarette size to help me. Nothing better than sucking good ole air! Good luck! -

Well I have decided to look at my fitness pal..I rarely log in but since I am slowing on weight loss I think it's time to track..I would like to have some friends if you are there . I am Piplula on MFP. I have literally one buddy there and he has been a great support and example. Thanks everyone! -
No honestly I haven't because I just accepted what I am...my mom, my aunt, and my cousin were all beauty queens..two of them cheerleaders.....my brother was very popular and handsome...I however was the "smart" one. I am used to that role. When I look at the lives my family leads...beauty isn't everything...I think out of all of them...I have the happiest marriage, home, the list goes on...so what my dad did hurt...did it shape my life...yes...but I am not sure that it didn't shape it for the better. I never focused on my looks because I can't fix how I look..so I live with it...I have been blessed so many other ways...

A Technical Question : Healing Of Stomach Tissue Together
Piplula replied to Rootman's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Ok try looking up granulation of a wound..that is where you have an open wound and the tissue regenerates at the base of the wound essentially filling In the wound..perhaps that is a better explanation. -

A Technical Question : Healing Of Stomach Tissue Together
Piplula replied to Rootman's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Ok..nerd here..this may answer your questions. Box three has great explanation as to why dehiscence(meaning the surgical wound doesn't heal) happens...if the stuff in box three doesn't occur then the wound heals..hope this helps..if not..I will see if I can dive a little farther into medical manuals! http://www.woundsinternational.com/pdf/content_65.pdf
