  1. Spaghetti ..pasta..tomato sauce..causes a wicked case of reflux...anything with garlic..which is very sad because I was a garliholic. All my favorite fast foods...even Chik-Fil-A! I rather chow on some tuna and some fruit. I haven't touched bread in 2 months! Sent from my DROIDX using VST

  4. stop feeling where you had surgery? What I mean is..I "feel" an uncomfortable feeling in between the incision sites. Its not a sharp pain..just a dull pain..not horrible and if I push really hard where it hurts...rubbing the pain site..it usually with feel better instantly . When did you not notice that you had surgery? This may sound crazy but in my mind I see the staples rubbing place on the outside of my intestines! I know crazy.. Sent from my DROIDX using VST

    What Is Your Best Moment?

Well..I am not that far out...but I can now sit in the middle of the row of the movie theater instead of on the outside seats so I don't touch anyone when I sit.
  6. To a regular multivitamin or prenatal vitamins. But..you have to multiply the numbers by two because you are doubling them up.
  7. Yes Flintstones Complete are comparable to the vitamin requirements if not more of the vitamins and minerals when compared
  8. Oh and I get a once a month B12 shot. That's my choice, but studies show you get the best absorption from intramuscular B12 and I don't want nerve damage..and I don't mind the shot or the $15 it costs.. Sent from my DROIDX using VST
  9. My RD recommended two Flintstones Complete per day. It had to be the complete. I too purchased the bariatric Vitamins and they were horrible. Huge waste of money. Some docs recommend prenatal vitamins as well. My levels are doing great with the two Flintstones Complete per day. I also take Blue Bonnet liquid calcium 1 tablespoon 3xs per day. I get it at my local Whole Foods and it goes down fine for me. I also take 50,000 units of Vitamin D2. Thats a prescription. I have low Vitamin D levels prior to surgery and it took about a year to get my levels to come up to normal limits. Hope this helped! Sent from my DROIDX using VST

    Dropping The Dairy In Desperation!

I felt the exact same way. eggs were not easy for me or chili. lunch meat went down the easiest. How far are you out from surgery..The first 48 hours after surgery..I literally wanted to die...the nausea was unholy...but slow..I have gotten better...I am 5 weeks out and have had the complication of the intolerance of milk and any milk products except for unjury. Have you tried it? I was afraid too to try anything..but..I assure you..it gets better..I am already down 30# and I am eating regular foods in very small amounts now without too much probably. Tuna has been the easiest for me to tolerate. I very much enjoy the Starkist Kreations marinated tuna. I like the lemon pepper one..and Bubblebee makes a 2 oz portion with crackers..I omit the crackers and eat the tuna..the Bubblebee one has a small amount of oil in the marinade and the Starkist doesn't. Beef and chicken were the hardest for me. If it is awful..I blended ice cubes, light soy milk, and 2 tbspoons of Peanut Butter to be a 22 grams of pb when I was at my worst. Remember too..some of the sugar free sweetners can cause diarrhea as well.. Sent from my DROIDX using VST

    Dropping The Dairy In Desperation!

Hey CrazyCatLady! I too am completely lactose intolerant after surgery. I found out the hard way early on! But I have some suggestions. I use unjury Protein powder. I don't have know if you have tried this brand. It is made from whey..but it doesn't seem to bother me. I mix my Protein shake with 8oz of light soy milk with one scoop of the chocolate unjury with a teaspoon or two of Peanut Butter and half of a banana. Once I stopped all dairy products...even yogurt and aged cheeses..my diarrhea subsided. There are times when I dared not pass gas without being on the toilet..but it has gotten better once I eliminated all..and I mean all diary except for the Unjury. I can tolerate Unjury but not other protein powders. If you haven't tried Unjury, you can order a sample pack from their website. I think it has a good variety decently priced as well. Even drinking EAS protein shake gives me diarrhea and gas..so Unjury is it for me. I hope this helped and you are feeling better soon. Sent from my DROIDX using VST

I have tried really hard not to over eat..and now I know what it feels like when you do...its like I swallowed a rock and can't breathe..the pressure is awful...not feeling nauseated...just pressure.....Well sitting here writing this...I think my pouch just cleared..and the pressure is subsiding...live and learn..and I damned well won't do that again! You got that right! I ate my 1 1/2 oz of tuna and had some bits of fruit on the side...I knew I should have left that last bite in the bowl..I could have had it later..oh well..my RD said EVERYBODY will do it once and once is about all it will take...LOL! Sent from my DROIDX using VST
  21. Ok...I am having issues with diarrhea. Yes I am now lactose intolerant but I have eliminated all dairy...some days are good..and some days...I can't be far from a bathroom. I thought constipation was a huge worry..but apparently I don't have to worry about. Where you told the same thing and is anyone having the same issue or had the same issue and does it get better with time? I am 1 month out today. Sent from my DROIDX using VST
  22. LOL I completely agree I'd fart but it'd be a shart!..LOL Sent from my DROIDX using VST
  23. Thanks for all the advice..maybe I will get better. I can say fir certain I don't go ten times per day to but I have to watch passing gas...I wouldn't dare do it with being in the bathroom for fear of messing myself. That should be addressed more frequently with the dr's than they actually do. Constipation was the emphasis...not diarrhea with the sleeve... Sent from my DROIDX using VST
  24. Does anyone use a straw? I used to use a straw for every drink I have ingested for the past 15 years. I was told not to use one and I haven't seen my surgery date on 4/3. Sent from my DROIDX using VST
  25. Really..I had not to use a straw all over my manuals ..I think they don't know ..not everyone is the same..maybe some people can't tolerate the straw first thing after surgery or something and can later...I am glad to know that others are using the straws and I will just have to try and see!
