Hmm...I'll take the excessive skin over the morbid obesity any day. .I can always have that chopped off! Scars don't bother me either.. You can always make up some very interesting story of how you got them...espionage...saving the US from danger...whatever war story you wanna tell..it can be your little secret...but that is way, WAY better than being morbidly obese and living a half life.

Completely agree with what everyone else has said. I am 2 1/2 hours from my surgical center and there are no support groups in West Tennessee for this type of surgery. So, this is my support group and I have to say..one of the most knowledgeable groups on the net that is specific to the procedure we have had done!

I did this! But I figured out it wasn't the puréed foods. It was any milk based products. I had lactose intolerance after my procedure. So I switched to soy based products and did much better. I wasn't even able to tolerate milk products in general. Now that I am 4 months out, I can tolerate very small amounts of Lactaid and some cheeses. Also, remember puréed foods don't have much fiber, and fiber can bulk up your stool. Once I personally tried non milk based foods..my diarrhea stopped. Also, it never hurts to talk to your dietitian for advice. That's what she is there for! I hope this helped!

Listened to all three books on Audible. First book was ok..the first 9 chapters were really boring. I don't see what the huge deal was with the books. I felt Harlequin romance novels had more sex going on than this book. The only difference was that this was S & M sex and is considered taboo. The second book was ok as well. I enjoyed the last book better than any of the books because it had more action in it ( not of sexual nature..don't want to describe what I'm talking about as to spoil it for everyone else) I would have liked more back story on Christian's childhood other than the epilogue at the end of book 3. Overall..it's a decent read. Not the best trilogy, but I have read (not finished) worse. As far as Twilight..I tried very hard to read the first book, and felt like I had been catapulted back to 6th grade. I just could not get through the book, and I tried really, REALLY heard to like the Twilight books..just couldn't do it!

I used to love to eat sushi. I don't anymore, but I do enjoy marinated squid salad..delish!

My time came when my hemoglobin A1c came back as prediabetic. I'm not sure why I felt high blood pressure and high cholesterol were ok....probably because two pills could "fix" it. I was sitting with my 11 y/o daughter and it hit me that if I didn't do something right then, I would not be around to celebrate all those precious milestones...first date, first prom, high school graduation, marriage, grandchildren..the list was endless in my mind. The worst thought was that if I died, some other woman could potentially be raising my daughter. That broke my heart. So on July 15, 2011, I started my weight loss journey and was approved for my sleeve and had that done on April 3, 2012. Never once did I give up..now I don't have those thoughts..I actually can dream now..

Question... Do the Premier Protein vanilla shakes taste like coconut to you? I think they taste a lot like Muscle Milk... Not vanilla flavored at me at all...just artificial coconut....(I quote the infamous Charlie Brown, "blech"!

So the hair on my head is falling out..which can be a normal process...but as I was getting out of the shower the other day..it appeared I had more hair down "there". Anybody else experience this? I am wondering if it is because since I am shrinking it just appears more hair is there because the follicles are closer together because of the shrinkage..I know ..weird question but just wondering if anybody else has noticed. I'll try to limit my weirdness to one question per day!

I had the same experience not too long ago for butter and crackers. Used to eat that as a kid. Hadn't had it in years...so I tried one cracker with butter. Well..truly.. One bite was enough! Tasted better in my youth then now! And this just like you, is not a trigger food for me. Funny how your brain wants to " trick" you!

Lmao! Trimming yes...weed wacker..never had to do that..never had that much hair to require a weed wacker...a razor and trimmer are just fine

I think it depends on it you had GERD prior to surgery. I did and took Dexilant 60 mcg daily..then switched to omperazole daily and it didn't help at all..my GERD came back with a vengence 3 months out. So I am back on Dexilant.

I had a hysterectomy which was an open abdominal procedure..I think I got around better after the sleeve than the hysterectomy. The pain was sharper in one spot than the abdominal incision though..I was on pain meds longer with the sleeve than the hysterectomy. Just take it easy, Let you body heal, and I bet you'll be glad you made the decision for weight loss surgery.

My hair is falling out like crazy and I am on 7500 mcg of biotin daily. I had a head full of thick straight hair.. Now it's thinned out a lot, but still looks healthy ..I brush out handfuls daily. From what my doc had told me, it usually starts about 3-6 months out ..I am 4 months out. And as someone else said, it will grow back. My thinking is if I lose 150-200 pounds..I can wear a wig!

Ok..I really hate it I swallow a gulp of air when I drink. It hurts. Nuff said..lol!

So.when do we let go of the insecurities with being overweight? It feels like I won't stop second doubting myself...and I hate that!!!! Although I am getting better.. Does this just take some time to sink in??? Any veteran sleevers with advice?

Is it truly necessary for this rant board to be here? It certainly is popular..and I, myself, have posted on the rant board..but....really?? Does this board really benefit you? Do you feel better once you rant..are you mad when someone disagees with you ? Does it enlighten you in any way?? Does it really add any meaning to the journey you are currently on?? Just a thought to chew on! What's your thoughts? I am curious! Rant away!
